Action Boot Camps

I am nearly 70 pounds overweight and was initially very scared to do bootcamp. Megan has a talent for making you feel comfortable as she pushes you beyond your limits. I have not worked out this hard since I played college water polo in the ‘90s. The small group atmosphere has been supportive and encouraging even though I am usually the most out of shape person there. I have lost weight and have a lot more energy than I did when I began bootcamp a month ago! I highly recommend this bootcamp!

I love this bootcamp, and Megan! I have never worked out so hard! I love the challenge. She is rough, but accommodates your level and pushes you when you need it. I tried it out for a month on one of the social deals, and would love to be a regular if I lived closer.

I have been going to Action Boot Camp for about 8 months now. I have seen a lot of improvement in my energy, immune system (haven’t gotten sick in 8 months, despite my husband getting sick twice), and my overall body composition. This place is a great place to start your journey to a healthy lifestyle. This is not for someone who wants to go to the gym occasionally and then eat unhealthy food.
Megan starts off by helping you create some goals, and how you will achieve them. You do a basic assessment to see what your current fitness level is. This includes weighing and measuring yourself. She teaches you how to eat a balanced meal, and you start tracking your food. I thought I was healthy before I came to her… I have changed the way I eat almost entirely and I feel a lot better.
There is also the physical aspect of the boot camp. You do all kinds of exercises, and it never gets boring. Just when you think… oh I know how to do this one… she gives you a heavier weight, or you have to switch exercises. She is very knowledgable in stretching, foam rolling, and what exercises work which muscle groups. You will, and should, leave every session feeling exhausted. I have lost inches in every area of my body because of the exercises we do.
This is worth the money. It’s better than a gym. You are getting personal training in a small group, and it is a lot harder than any aerobics class I have been in. You can’t drown in your own sweat but I think sometimes I almost do!

This is the only exercise that I have ever stuck with. I have been with Megan at Action Boot Camps for about a year now, and have seen great results. She not only gets you to exercise, but she also helps you change your diet as well. She has plenty of tough love for all her campers. it is a great combination of motivation and accountability. You ALWAYS know that Megan has your best interest at heart. If you are thinking about it, just do it! You will not be sorry.

Awesome workout and real results! I was nervous to start, but so glad I did. Meg helps you set your own goals and makes sure you meet them. The studio is in a great location in East Sac. The workouts kicked my butt… hurt so good! Definitely a good find.

With a blend of indoor and outdoor circuit training and cardio, each bootcamp session is both challenging and gratifying. In fact, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, never have I done the same session twice– in 2 years! Each session is unique and well thought out.
In addition to killer sessions, ABC helped me set my personal fitness goals and my Calls to Actions– because goals are great but it’s really the about the actions you are going to hold yourself accountable to, to get you there. And whatever your goals are, they are made attainable and set up in a realistic way. ABC really does want to help you make healthy choices, reach your goals, and ultimately stay fit.
It is not rocket science what is done at ABC but for an effective, long term relationship between you and your goals, you do need a level of chemistry with your trainer. I trust Trainer MadDog Megan, and feel confident in her knowledge and support to help me reach my goals. Always pushing for excellence, keeping up on food logs, offering fun group challenges and races, and always-​always celebrating a goal reached or pound lost, Megan has passion for what she does and the evidence is in the clients that keep coming back.

This is the only bootcamp I’ve had any success with and I love it! I’ve tried all of the other classes, yoga, pilates, gyms, zumba along with various other bootcamp classes and Mad Dog Megan’s Action Bootcamp is the only once I’ve stuck with and lost weight. I significantly noticed changes in my body as well as my endurance level increasing within the first month of working out with her.

Action Boot Camps and Megan is one of the best things I have found in my 35 years on this earth. I discovered Action boot camps a year after I decided to do a lifestyle change. I had been a big baby, a chubby kid, a chunky teen and a fat adult and it was time for a chance. I started with crazy diets and then walking but the best thing I did was roll out of bed and meet Maddog Megan at 6 am at Howe Park one August morning. I didn’t know then but I was meeting the person who would become my inspiration, my cheerleader, my teacher and most of all my friend. Megan makes bootcamp more than a workout. I love this boot camp!!! I’ve had other bootcamps in Southern California before moving up here to Sacramento. All of my boot camps have been great for keeping my workout fresh. But this boot camp is special because I feel like everyone, both the trainer and the other participants, really care about me. Plus, of the three bootcamps that I’ve attended, this is the first one to monitor my food without an additional fee (others wanted like $ 100 to give me some crappy food plan — I hate freakin’ cottage cheese). Instead, the trainer sees what I’m currently eating and offers very doable modifications. This time it’s actually working!

Action Bootcamp is my reason to wake up in the morning. I’ve always hated going to the gym and working out was a chore rather than a choice but Action boot camps changed all that. I’ve been doing it for almost a year now and it’s been the BEST workout experience by far. The way that the camp blends running, hiking, calisthenics, and yoga/​pilates is invigorating and produces incredible results.
I’m always bragging to my friends about it, especially the ones that haven’t seen me in a while and they all say, «You look great! What are you doing?»
Action bootcamp is an amazingly positive experience. I enjoy Megan’s (trainer) energetic and tough (in a good way) approach to fitness and I can’t speak highly enough about her dedication to my health and fitness as well as the supportive (and fun) group of bootcampers who make his camp the best!!!
