Succeeded where 2 other doctors failed, Dr. Hirahara is the best. I’m back to sports now and weight lifting. An incredibly gifted surgeon, you won’t find anyone better to treat shoulder injuries. His success is not just surgical, but also lies in his emphasis on proper physical therapy according to his rehabilitation protocols. He has his patients work very closely with a physical therapy group in the area to accomplish this. If you have any kind of pain or injury to your shoulder, go see him. You won’t find better. I will say that scheduling staff can either be very responsive or can take awhile to get back to you. Just FYI so be prepared.

Got referred by my uncle who is a cardiologist and knows Dr. Hirahara well. My uncle wouldn’t send me to a bad doctor and he also wouldn’t send me to a doctor just to help his reputation. I know he would only send me somewhere he can truly trust to help my condition. Hirahara did a SLAP repair on me and did it perfectly. He is a amazing doctor who specializes especially with athletes and does a fantastic job. He also made sure that I was sent to the best physical therapy place with awesome Therapists that have since proved to live up to that standard. Would recommend him to anyone looking for a great surgeon.

Dr. Hirahara did my ACL surgery in 2007 after a flag football injury(lame!). Doc and his staff were fantastic from my first appointment through my post-op/physical therapy. The office was quite busy, but this didn’t bother me since a busy private Ortho Clinic is typically a well respected Ortho Clinic(usually the best restaurants are busier then the rest!). At my appointment, Dr. H spent time and educated me on my injury and surgical options. 7 months after my surgery, I did the Eppie’s Great race with hardly a scar on my knee. 7 years later, I still feel fantastic!

The doc may be good, but his staff is less than desirable. Their scheduling is a joke, and trying to get an appointment or a call back from their staff is about the single-most difficult task I have ever attempted. Even the office manager couldn’t return my call after promising to get back to me right away. I’m sorry, but there is more to a doctor than just his ability to slice and dice, but the compassion and organization of his staff speaks volumes of his standards and abilities.
