Bar Hein is one of those small local shops that still can handle any issue you throw at them or has the parts for your old Stihl. I have been going there for years for parts for my old Stihl chainsaws. They have excellent service and very fair prices. The only place I go for my outdoor power equipment needs.

They fixed my top of the line blower I bought from them for FREE under warranty and most places would just take you for a ride, but this place is actually honest and customer service is great. Thanks for honoring your warranty bar hein! If your going to buy something big take this into consideration, its nice not being left high and dry!

Great service, I have had over 50 chains sharpen here and they have done a great job. I have bought two chain saws from Bar-Hein over the years and both proved to be great saws Stihl… brands…the MS170, is a steal at $ 180.00 when on sale, this is a 200+ saw. I have been in the Fence Biz for over 14 years, and I have tried other brands, this MS170 is the best saw I have ever had, and the price makes it even more of a great choice. I am using my saw 5 days a week professionally, or at least most my work… ouch…but if the saw is for a homeowner you can get 7 – 15 years out of the saw. Maybe more. Places like Bar-Hein are far and few between, these are the stores that keep the big box stores honest and the big store can charge monopoly prices yet, however when the stores like Bar-Hein Co are no longer with us, will see the Home Depot type stores prices go thru the roof…

Prior to my recent visit, it’s been over a decade and a half since my last interaction with Bar Hein Co. Back then I was in my college days chasing parts for an employer, but it’s nice to see that the folks at Bar Hein Co. are still in business. Just recently, I found myself in need of a new leaf blower. My last one unexpectedly«retired,» or more like blew crankcase fluid out the muffler(it was a 4-stroke…which means high concentrations of oil in the exhaust is not good). After calling several shops throughout Sacramento County regarding price and availability, I settled on the folks at Bar Hein Co. Not only did they have what I wanted at a reasonable price, I found them to be polite and helpful during phone conversations. When I finally strolled into their shop I was somewhat struck by its«lived-in» feel, but who cares when you see professional landscape contractors frequenting the place along with shelf racks teeming with brands(Echo, Stihl, Toro, etc.) that are synonymous with their trade. Although Bar Hein staff were pretty busy attending to their commercial clients, one of their employees still took the time to walk over and ask if I needed help. That was cool… especially when I’m just«Joe home owner» looking to spend a few hundred bucks on a leaf blower. When I mentioned the performance standards that I was hoping to see in a blower, the gentleman promptly pulled the spec. sheet to find an appropriate match. Needless to say, I chose a Stihl! But before sending me out the door with my brand spankin’ new leaf blower, the folks at Bar Hein Co. gassed it up, tested it and gave me a brief tutorial on its controls and starting procedures. That’s awesome! You won’t find that kind of service at a publicly traded box store… that’s for darn sure! This fall, leaves don’t stand a chance… I’m packin’ a Stihl!
