I have been a client for the last 3 years, I have had nothing but the best service from Bates Insurance. I first contacted Paul because my insurance company at the time wanted to charge me $ 500 a month for one car. Paul found me a policy for both my cars for less than half what my pervious company wanted. He saved me hundreds of dollars. To add to it I have never had a bad experience with Paul. Every time I needed something or got a letter in the mail he has been extremely helpful and resolved the issue promptly.

I have been a client for years! Other agents that I have dealt with in the past have forgotten about me as soon as I walk out the door. Every couple of years he does a personal follow up to make sure that I have the best coverage and the best rate on the market. I couldn’t ask for a kinder and more personnel person! Bates Insurance Agency was easier than I ever imagined! I had received a life insurance quote from my auto/​home insurance company and it was TRIPLE the amount that I received through Bates Insurance Agency. The employees were very friendly and kept me informed throughout the process.

I should’ve seen the signs from the beginning. I left a message inquiring about insurance; Paul Jacinth returned my call using speaker phone; I was having trouble hearing him and had to ask him to repeat himself a few times. His tone was frustrated and terse at the request. When I went to his office the following day I was immediately creeped out, the building was old and shabby, his office was even worse, dingy windows, several random desks and no people, nothing representing professionalism or confidence in the service they offer. His office is in the back and he shouted to me that he was in the middle of something and told me to wait. I took a quick call while I was waiting and when he was ready he once again shouted out to me that he was ready, as i was finishing my call and walking towards his office he impatiently shouted to me again he was ready. I hurried in and was mortified at his über relaxed demeanor and the fact he didn’t stand up to greet me or anything. During our meeting I was maintaining my affability as he was making inappropriate conversation about how he pacifies his wife by pretending to listen and talking about how women need so many details and how silly we communicate.
During our meeting, Paul took a business call on speaker phone in front of me. His tone was rude and terse to his client.
While gathering paperwork I did not have a copy of a necessary form with me, but I had something Paul found adequate. I offered to go to my car outside to get the needed paper, he declined.
Six days later, Paul called my place of employment asking for me to fax something to him but did not say what he needed.
I called him back and left a message that I would prefer him to leave messages on my home phone and to refrain from calling my place of employment unless it was an emergency. I still did not know at this point what piece of info he needed from me. I asked for a returned call. Someone from his office left me a message requesting the necessary form, they wanted me to copy it and fax it to him.
When I found out that he needed me to go get a copy and fax him the piece of paper I offered to get him the first day I became frustrated that due to his declining the paper that day that now I had to take extra time to make a copy and and pay to fax it from Kinkos. I had no patience or empathy for this situation he caused.
The next day I called to cancel any business with Paul and Bates Insurance; he took the call on speaker phone and told me he could not get the ball rolling on getting my check back and canceling anything b/​c he had clients in his office. I suggested the following day (Friday) and he rudely told me he was going on vacation and wouldn’t help me until Monday. I asked again if he could at the very least find out when I may expect my check to be returned. He said: «I don’t know how much clearer I can be, I will not do anything until Monday.» He then hung up on me. I called back and left a mssg on his voicemail that he is rude, I will write a scathing review recommending people do not use his business as well as complain to the insurance company that their broker was losing them business.
I went over his head and called the insurance company myself and found that Paul had my check at his office along with the original file of all the papers sent to them. He was misleading, rude and lost a client for feeling as if his time was more important thanmine as well as proving his incompetence.
