Beatnik Studios

Beautiful open space with exposed brick — what a wonderful gallery! I hope someday I’m lucky enough to show a piece of artwork here. The place is spacious and well lit, and the off-​street entrance gives it the right kind of «cool» vibe.
We recently attended a wedding held at Beatnik, and it was fantastic! My only discomfort was standing in the parking lot for a «cocktail hour» between the wedding and reception during a June wedding where it was 102 degrees out. I would suggest some sort of tent or awning.

We had our Solar Roadshow at Beatnik Studios and the space was beautiful! Michael the manager and his staff were extremely accommodating and helpful! I would highly recommend Beatnik Studios as an excellent spot for any upcoming event you may have. We will definitely book with them again if we do another event in Sacramento.

My husband and I got married in October 2015 at Beatnik Studios. We came across Beatnik at the very beginning of our venue search. In fact, Beatnik was the first and only venue we checked out, it was that great!
After finding Beatnik online, we made an appointment to visit in person. We met with Karen on a rainy night in January and fell in love with the space instantly. At first glance Beatnik is a large, open space with beautiful tall windows, exposed brick walls, high ceilings and fun «bistro» lights. It has a creative, unique atmosphere that spoke to our hearts. At the first meeting, Karen went over everything in detail but not in an overwhelming or pushy manner. She simply explained options and prices all while taking into consideration our budget. We were so thrilled we had to force ourselves to take a night to «think it over» but ended up booking it right away and boy are we glad we did!
From the time we booked Beatnik to the big day, the Beatnik staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. From changes in the schedule and different décor ideas to extra staffing requests and vendor updates, Beatnik was there to assist us if not completely handle it for us. And when the big day finally arrived, we didn’t have a thing to worry about. Karen and the rest of the staff took care of all of the coordination and made sure everything ran smoothly. There wasn’t one «oh no» moment that day thanks to Beatnik. And just to top it all off, the venue was absolutely beautiful and made for the most personal and intimate ceremony and celebration we could have imagined.

Beatnik was the perfect wedding venue for us. We were searching for local venues that fit our style, accommodate our 200 guest list and allowed outside catering and liquor. Beatnik was everything we wanted and more.
Starting with their unique space. The aged building has personality with its brick walls and concrete floors. The skylight allows for lots of natural light that photographs well. We were the first couple to have our ceremony outside in the alley. It made for a beautiful and unique setting that no one expected.
And last but not least, the staff from start to finish was nothing short of amazing. Initially I met with Karen (our day of coordinator) and Lindsay (the owner) to discuss our needs. They were very positive, passionate and gave us ideas on how the venue space would work for us. Karen, Tasker and Amanda were there for our June wedding from set up to clean up. They did a lovely job with no glitches. They made our day very special and one to remember.
We have no regrets with beatnik. We were so pleased with our whole experience and beatnik is worth every cent. Thanks to the beatnik was the best day ever!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Beatnik Studios this past Saturday. The night was incredibly perfect and wonderful in every way! The space is awesome!!! We did everything DIY and with a lot of help from Karen and the rest of the staff at Beatnik, everything turned out AMAZING! We had about 185 adults and 3 kids and were able to accommodate all of them with space and time for the «flip» between the ceremony and reception. Karen was incredible and very professional to work with. She took care of coordinating our vendors and day-​of schedule. When the big day came, my husband and I didn’t have to worry or think about anything. It was truly a fabulous experience! If you are thinking of having a wedding that is not the «cookie-​cutter» type of wedding, definitely consider Beatnik Studios for your venue. Also, (if you LOVE tacos and delicious Mexican food), use Mi Pueblito as your caterer. They are the best! Also, Chris the DJ (he is the DJ that is Beatnik’s preferred DJ) was perfect. All of our guests commented on how great the music was! I can’t say enough good things about our wedding at Beatnik!!!

Beatnik was the perfect reception venue!
— Space: It’s a converted warehouse so there are beautiful brick walls and high ceilings. It’s primarily an art studio so there is always something pleasing to look at. During the reception the art walls are pushed to the side to create a great open space.
— Capacity: We had about 210 guests (with about 30 children) and we maxed out the space. It was just right for us! We had long banquet tables set up and our guests still had enough room to back out chairs and move around. We had room for a dance floor, two buffets setups and a few cocktail tables near the bar. A little cozy, but still comfortable.
— Location: Just outside of downtown Sac where you don’t need to worry about parking for your guests. Also, they don’t have too many neighbors so I believe as long as your guests are out by midnight, you’re good.
— Staff: Such a pleasure to work with. We visited the venue at least a handful of times before the actual event and they were always very accommodating to make sure I was comfortable. They were flexible about setup and cleanup of the space and they went above and beyond! My favorite part was when we got to the reception they setup an outside seating area for our guests. We had never even discussed that, but they did it anyway! A great touch!
What else can I say… great space, great people. So glad we found Beatnik!

My husband and I just had our wedding (ceremony and reception) at Beatnik on 1÷3÷15, and everything was absolutely perfect! We had a three month engagement, and Karen handled all the vendors and planning like the truest professional. We never had to worry about a thing with her in charge.
The day of our wedding the Beatnik crew did an immaculate job setting up all the rentals. I couldn’t believe how beautiful everything looked, and it all flowed perfectly from the ceremony to the reception. From the people to the venue Beatnik is amazing! I can’t thank them enough for making our day like a dream come true.
If anyone is looking for a venue to host an event Beatnik is definitely the place! Everyone is easy to work with, and very flexible so they can make any vision a reality. My husband and I are clients for life!

Talk about communication problems. Me and my partner were looking for wedding venues and we became attracted to beatnik because of rustic look. We stopped by and I actually met Elisabeth the event coordinator. I have sent her an email but did not receive a reply nite a call. I called her a left her a voicemail but no returned phone call either I figured I will try to email again to communicate for the third time but no luck at all. I am not really sure if they are pro or anti gay marriage although she had mentioned that the studios is owned by lesbian couple. I am highly dissapointed about their communication issues but most likely I won’t recommend them.

I just had my wedding reception here and I LOVED it and so did the guests! Karen and Elizabeth were so great to work with and were very accommodating!

I had my wedding (ceremony and reception) at Beatnik on Sunday (⁴⁄₁₃) and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The venue itself was so versatile and it worked perfectly for my wedding. It’s such a cool, unique, and inspiring environment.
On top of that Elisabeth and the Beatnik staff are fantastic. She was so easy to work with and served as an unofficial wedding planner as well. They definitely went above and beyond and I was so happy with the result. It was a perfect, stress free day, and Elisabeth/​Beatnik was a big part of that.

We got married at Beatnik at the end of March and we could not be happier with our experience! The space is absolutely gorgeous and the staff was incredibly friendly, professional and accessible. They made us feel comfortable and relieved much of our wedding stress. They took our ideas and pulled them together in a way that portrayed exactly what we wanted (without us even knowing what we wanted exactly). We needed more tabled and chairs the day before the wedding and Elizabeth made things very easy for us and contacted the rental place to add to the order. Our wedding day was a dream come true thanks to Beatnik!

Beatnik is my «Go To» venue for any client who mutters the words «Unique» in their wish list for their event! Doing business is EZ with the Beatnik team and I get all the amenities needed for a successful event — plus… a little secret, book one of these most talented photographers to capture your event and make a deal on the rental price!
These business owners put their money where their mouth is — they are community leaders and major supporters of the arts and a good neighbor in every meaning of the phrase.
I admire and am grateful to Lyndsey for her vision and courage to be the significant businesswoman she has become!

We did our Race for the Cure kick-​off event here and it was fantastic! Such a great venue for an event and the staff is amazing! We will be using the location again for our annual Gala in September.
Looking forward to the Bouquets of Wine and Art event on March 28^th and their next 3^rd Thursday Jazz Night.

Beatnik is amazing! I held my Holly Jolly Craftmas pop-​up shop there in December (#hollyjollypopup on Instagram) and it couldn’t have been a more perfect space. I can’t wait to do weddings there! The building has tons of history and charm, the team is amazing and easy to work with, there’s tons of parking, the space can be reworked however you want with awesome rolling walls… what more can I say?
To all the cool, funky, offbeat couples who want a hip wedding (and not another cookie cutter wedding) this is THE place in Sacramento to do it, hands down.

Attended a private NYE party here. This dual purpose space serves as both a functional art gallery as well as an event venue. The art on the walls are modern styled and good conversation pieces. They also serve as excellent backdrops for event photos. Nice open floorplan and industrial décor/​architecture emits an aire of sophistication. I would recommend this place for anyone who is looking to throw a cool party/​event.

The Beatnik Crew is AMAZING! I recently had my wedding and reception at the new 7^th Street building; it was wonderful! Lindsay, Wes, Karen, Kelly, Elizabeth and the rest of the Beatnik crew were perfect to work with. As time passed and my bridal nerves starting taking over, Lindsay was so kind, patient, and reassuring. I was comforted knowing that these are people with integrity! I knew with 100% certainty that my wedding would be as special as I dreamed.
The building looked beautiful; the Beatniks are a talented group and transformed an empty building into a wedding i will remember fondly. Kelly’s art is incredible and i was so honored that she shared it with us for our wedding. I will look back on this day and smile knowing it was exactly what we wanted. The Beatniks feel like family and I would have wanted to share this event with anyone else!
