Omg yes. I think I came at a great time. I’m in love with their pomegranate and raspberry yogurt. I like their large selection of add-ons, I don’t see at other yogurt shops. The yogurt however was a bit on the melted side and everything is sticky. Another thing that concerns me is that things that should be kept cold are at room temperature.

We came here after dinner to grab some yogurt for the kiddos… talk about uninspiring. There were only 4 flavors available(vanilla, chocolate, twist, and strawberry) — the other machines were broken. The entire place is overall kinda sticky. The handles are sticky. The spoons are sticky. It’s all sticky. Yuck. Anyway, they have the standard assortment of toppings, etc. The fruit is not very fresh which is always concerning. It would be nice if they had one of the tart type yogurts that make these yogurt places unique. Bleh, not much else to say. I would avoid if possible. Perhaps they should start with cleaning the entire place.

Quick Run Down: It’s hard to hate on a frozen yogurt place in the same way that it’s hard to hate on a pizza place… meaning… even when it’s bad… it’s still pretty good. With that said, you could likely walk into any random frozen yogurt shop and get better quality than Big Spoon. The Service: 3⁄5 Everyone is always pretty friendly no matter what Big Spoon location you go to. But since they are self serve, it’s pretty hard to mess up the service aspect of what you will get there. The Venue: 3⁄5 Nothing to get excited about, but nothing to frown about either. They could benefit from a few more machines and maybe be better about maintaining the froyo machines they do have, seems like at least once is always down for some reason or other, which is horrible given they have so few to begin with. Food: 2⁄5 I’ve grown so tired of their regular flavors and they don’t seem to wanna take many chances on new and exciting flavors and toppings! The Kicker: 2⁄5 The world of frozen yogurt and creamy goodness is competitive and cut throat! Ok… maybe it’s not that intense. But literally every frozen yogurt place I’ve been to has been better than Big Spoon. With so many dessert options in general… Big Spoon shouldn’t be your first, second or even third pick. This fact brings the rating down for me quite a bit.

I’ve visited Big Spoon a couple of times, and overall, it’s a «meh.» Here are the reasons: 1. You have to ask for samples. Most yogurt shops let you try as much as you want to, you just help yourself. Here, you must approach the clerk and ask for a cup. 2. Dripping machines. There was a puddle of fuchsia below the pomegranate yogurt. 3. I didn’t have a sample cup, so I figured that cheesecake would be a safe option. After I paid, I realized that the sign was wrong. I got a serving of coconut– not cheesecake! Given that there aren’t many ice cream/yogurt options really close by, it works. But I don’t think I’ll be back for a while.

Big Spoon! Only if you made me swoon. Your froyo is reasonably priced for the portions yet the quality in taste is sub-par. Its not that your froyo is bad, it just doesn’t stand out. I like the fact you are located within the plaza with tons of chairs and tables. The size of you place is perfect for the plaza. With your layout as easy to understand as the ABCs, one can easily know what to do. I enjoy the fact that you have a good amount of flavors; sometimes I just put all the flavors into one cup and wished it tasted a little better [Again, not that its bad]. Also, fresh fruit items would be grand for I like pineapples in my froyo :). Big Spoon, I’ll come back for froyo when its Convenient for me but I wouldn’t come out all the way there for froyo. Pros: Assortments of flavors, Convenient after/before a movie. Cons: Froyo could be better. Stars: 3.25
