Blue Aspen Adventures

My wife and I signed up for a two day, overnight, hike inside of Yosemite National Park. The hike went from Glacier Point to the top of Half Dome, then back into the Yosemite Valley.
This was an absolutely wonderful experience. We had two guides, Will and Vince, both were friendly, fun, funny, and very patient. My wife and I were both in good shape but very inexperienced with overnight backpacking /​hiking. They helped us adjust our backpacks, treat blisters, filter water, cook, all the things that in-​experienced backpackers would need help with.
Both the guides were very experienced backpackers and both knew the Yosemite park like the back of their hands. They were very good judges of our abilities and stamina levels, they modified the hike as need to allow us to keep hiking when we felt good, and to rest when we were tired.
The highlight of the trip was reaching the top of half dome, a monument inside the park which towers over 8800 feet high. The last park of the hike requires climbing the back side of the dome up a very steep slope with the assistance of steel cables which the forest services has bolted into the side of the mountain. Both my wife and I were apprehensive about climbing the steep face. Will provided climbing harnesses which we could clip to the cables to prevent falls. He also provided a great deal of encouragement and confidence which allowed us to reach the summit.
I would highly recommend blue aspen especially Will and Vince to anyone considering a overnight backpacking trip.

What drew my friend and me to this business was a friendly and brilliant guide, Will, who just helped us so much in preparation for our hike in Yosemite near Sentinel Dome. We struck up a conversation with him about hiking and trails, and being ever so knowledgeable about the area, Will helped us out with many practical and helpful tips. We, unfortunately, were in a rush, didn’t even know about Blue Aspen Adventures, and didn’t know about Will beforehand. Otherwise, we would have scheduled a hike with him through the company. We later saw him from a distance with his hiking group, and he had everyone engaged and interested. He’s very patient and personable too.

Richard, the founder and lead guide, is an extremely friendly, passionate, professional, and experienced outdoor adventure guide.
Not to mention, all the other guides at Blue Aspen Adventures are funny, cool, friendly, professional, and experienced!
