Bradshaw Christian School

My daughter has been at BCS Preschool for 2 years and we have been so thankful for our time here. The administration is responsive and welcoming. The fact that my kids regularly walk into the director’s office to play with her toys and books while I visit with her says something: this is a place that welcomes parents and their feedback. I saw this firsthand lately as my 4 year old daughter struggled to fall asleep during nap time. While some of her classmates were transitioning to the non-​nap room and I was worried this might be the only option left for our daughter, our family just wasn’t ready to do it. I reached out to the staff, and the administration met with me and even took the time to bring in the classroom teacher to brainstorm what would work best for my DAUGHTER. They listened to my needs and helped come up with an incentive system that worked wonders (we are now SUCCESSFULLY sleeping at nap time!). I appreciated their willingness to see our needs and meet them in ways that I know took time and work for them.
My daughter LOVES going to school. From the summer water days to the Jog a Thon to the 4^th of July Bike Parade… there is always something fun happening and a bunch of parents on the sidelines to cheer and take pictures.
I always feel welcomed in the classroom and I like the care the teachers put into the environment. It feels clean and safe, the teachers PLAY with the kids and teach them how to interact with each other, and it just looks like a lot of FUN. The staff cares about knowing my daughter and they appreciate what makes her unique. For a working mom like myself, I’m so thankful I get to leave my daughter in the hands of a staff who will LOVE her and help her grow.

My son attended Bradshaw for two years and it was a terrible experience. The turn over for teachers was astounding. He had 4 different teachers in less than two years. The Preschool director was terrible to work with and did not hire qualified staff. I would not recommend this school to anyone… especially those with young boys. I was told my 3 year old son was special needs because he couldn’t sit still.
Had him accessed by the way at the schools request… not only did he not qualify but the county assessor told me the school had a history of this behavior and that his teacher was ridiculous.
Save your money!

Twelve years ago I came to Bradshaw Christian School as the middle school and high school Social Studies teacher. At the time the school was excited to be offering its first 9^th grade class. We had less than 20 in that group that would eventually be the class of 2007. Over the last 11 years I have had the pleasure to participate in the growth of this school. I have watched us grow form a high school of less than 20 to the current 350 student population. I have been able to move from teacher to administrator and now have the privilege of doing both. I have had the honor of teaching some of the finest students and working along side some of the greatest people I have ever met. It has been those students and those faculty and administrators that have pushed the school into new and exciting territory. Bradshaw Christian this year was named one of «America’s Most Challenging Schools» by the Washington Post. We are sending students to some of the countries most prestigious and rigorous universities and we are looking to continue to add more and more challenging and engaging courses to our already diverse selection. The school has also won over 20 CIF Section championships and has experienced incredible success in all areas of athletics. The school is a place where students can develop both the mental and the physical.
However, more than anything the faculty and staff at Bradshaw want the students and families to see and know Jesus. The school is not perfect, but it is this passionate desire that has led me to put my own children in the school. My youngest just completed a year of pre-​school and my oldest son will be entering 3^rd grade. I have now gotten to witness first hand as a parent all the ways that my sons are challenged, but most importantly all the ways that they are loved and encouraged. If I were to leave the school tomorrow as an employee my sons would continue to attend Bradshaw Christian School because I see every day how they are cherished as well as challenged. I would highly encourage anyone seeking a Christian school for their children to come and tour the school. I believe you would be very impressed with what you see and experience.

My son has attended BCS since pre-​school, beginning in 2007. My youngest son began in 2011. This school not only teaches our children the academics they need to advance to college, it also teaches them the character it takes to become an exceptional member of society. If you want to join a great community with a school dedicated to academics and character development, I highly recommend Bradshaw Christian.

I love this school! As former Middle School teachers, we are all too aware of the importance of peer group and community. Bradshaw is just exceptional. Caring teachers, involved families, very nice kids and appropriate Middle School activities. Our son says «I feel like I matter. That I can contribute and make a difference and that people notice what I do.» At this age of emerging autonomy, we could not have designed a better environment for him. We are a dual faith family and his Bible teacher has been insightful, respectful and supportive. The classes and curriculum are good and we are especially appreciative of how the school manages standardized testing. Finally, twice I became concerned about another student’s well being and twice I emailed Mr. Hage — the Dean of Students. Once was after hours and once he was on vacation. Both times he responded within an hour and immediately took steps to reach out to the students. Having run the gambit of Teacher, public school parent, Homeschooler and private school parent — I highly recommend Bradshaw Middle School.

I used to love Bradshaw Christian and still love the teachers but can not stand the preschool director. My kids father and I share custody and she just could not get that under control (not that it was her business). I get she was trying to follow the court order but if her dad and I both agree that one of us can pick her up on a day that isn’t ours, that should be our business. Long story short police were called, I was forced to stay in her office for 2 hours with my kids until their dad and the police arrived just to tell her that if it’s mutually agreed, it’s fine. She got so stressed out she ended up telling us our innocent, NEVER BEEN IN TROUBLE ONCE child was not allowed back on campus. My daughter is crushed. My opinion of that school has gone so far down the toilet I will never recommend it to anyone.

Fantastic school! My child has attended for 6 years. No bullying tolerated. A very diverse range of students from different walks of life, race, etc. students are taught to be respectful to each other and best of all taught about religion and following a life with Christ in their hearts.
Not ONCE has my child been disciplined by having a lunch hour taken (Someone else wrote in a review this is a policy. No way!) away because no homework turned in. No way this would ever happen! The teachers are helpful and some even will tutor on the side to provide extra help!
The ONLY downside is say is the teachers don’t all have credentials, some on with a B.S. Degree.
Also, some of the staff helpers (yard duty or morning/​after school care) have younger (20’s?) working in those positions so they lack a bit of experience.
Overall we are very happy with BCS and the families are all connected and friendly and the staff is pleasant. My child is very happy at this school and is treated with respect!

Love this school, pulled my daughter out of egusd high school where there are drugs, disrespect by students and teachers alike. She is doing well and can get into any college she desires. I recommend this high school for anyone who want more for their children.

Our experience was not positive at BCS. The red flag should have been when we went to an orientation meeting and they announced a policy change that if a child didn’t do their homework they received lunch detention. We also found that BCS has a lower educational level than the EGUSD and mediocre administration. We pulled our son out and put him back at Albiani. Do your research before you think of putting your child here.

Terrible school. Don’t take your kids there. Intolerant of anyone different and don’t have the skills to take on anything that is remotely a challenge.

Glad that I removed my child from this school and she is thriving academically at another school. Terrible experience at this school. I know other parents are now removing their children. I regret that I enrolled my child at this school, but glad she is at a place that now recognizes her abilities. I could go on and on with details of my experiences with teachers and staff — and school secretary (!) but I will keep it short and just say I was very unhappy with this school.

I’m a Father of two girls at this school. For one, our 2 year old, this is her first school or childcare experience. Our other Daughter is in one of the Kindergarden classes at this school. This is our first year at this school and it is only 2 months into the 2011 school year. I first want to disclaim that I have no ties or affiliations with this school and this review is real and uninfluenced (because I have read other school reviews that I was highly suspicious of both positive and negative).
I’m very happy with the school class sizes. Our 2 year old daycare has as many as 3 teachers for less than 20 children. Kindergarden is less then 20 kids for the teacher. Maybe it’s the uniforms but the kids just look better also. Theres no troubled looking kids (scraggily dressed, messy hair, unhappy etc). All kids have a smile and get along etc. My kids come home happy also. Flexibility is awesome, I can drop off my kids as early as 6:30 am and pick up as late as 6 pm. Fortunately we don’t have to leave our kids 11.5 hours but it’s a nice option and the cost is the same. Value is evident; daycare is cheaper here than most other locations we checked and potty training is included.
For this review I now have more space to address other websites poor reviews. I noticed another review stating this school was intolerant and even went as far to say they were racist. I was shocked to read this in my research of this school. Now that the school year has begun I can say with first had experience that this school is extremely kind, tolerant and wonderful. I was was also pleasantly surprised to see the diversity of culture at this school. I had a preconceived idea of the breakdown simply based on this being a private school, and was thankful to find a great mix.
If you have any questions about this school just do what I did back in the Summer when I was checking a few of them in my area out. Make an appointment and visit the school. I was able to meet in person with the principal as well as the head school secretary (who walked me through everything and answered tons of questions by my Wife and me.).

My son has been attending preschool here since September, and we couldn’t be happier. I can only hope that I can keep him in the school all the way through to high school.
The teachers seem to really care about the children, and I am amazed at the new things he learns everyday. I have a two year old that will also soon be attending school here.
