Breastfeeding Network – Jaye Simpson, IBCLC

Jaye Simpson has been a great help to my family! She came to our home and assessed my son’s nursing, as well as his body in general. She confirmed what I had suspected was the issue (low supply and some issues on my son’s part too). She showed us where there was tightness in my son’s body which prevented a good, healthy latch. She made recommendations that no one else had thought of before, and — most importantly — she validated the concerns that we had and helped us rectify them. Thanks to her, I’ve been able to nurse my son for over a year now. I also attended her parents support group for a while — which was awesome! She’s remained part of our lives and is someone I still turn to with questions about my son’s health.
That’s what she does… But as for Jaye herself, she’s got a great personality! She’s incredibly knowledgeable and continues to educate herself and expand her skills further. She’s no-​nonsense, supportive, and doesn’t shy away from sharing her personal experiences. She builds up a sense of camaraderie between herself and the moms she serves. She’s absolutely passionate about what she does!
I’m always quick to recommend her to others having breastfeeding issues. She’s not your typical lactation consultant — and that’s what makes her the best!

Jaye Simpson will come to your home and teach you to breastfeed. If your baby has a tongue tie, she will diagnose and help you figure out what to do. If the baby has structural issues (tight muscles, etc) that keep him or her from nursing, she can recognize that. And she is great at diagnosing the cause of low milk supply. She is an IBCLC certified, very experienced and highly capable lactation consultant! Also, she runs a free support group for new moms trying to breastfeed on Fridays at the Shaker church.
