A little off the beaten path, Builder and Thrift Outlet may be my new favorite thrift store for furniture. The owner posts a lot of her furniture on Craigslist, which is how I found this place. She was very nice and even held the kitchen table that I was interested in for a couple of days before I picked it up. The table was in good condition, with everything working and I love it. She has great pieces for DIY furniture projects as well as a ton of tools, materials to actually do your projects, all at a reasonable price!

If you like a treasure hunt and to walk away with really great deals, this place is for you. The owner, Mag, has been a huge asset is helping me find«treasures» for an upcoming bridal tea shower I’ve been planning. Not only did I find tea cups, tea pots and other accessories, she has given me advice and ideas for this shower. She has been kind enough holding items for me from newer shipments she thought I might be interested in. By the way, the china hutch is only $ 25, the painting on top of it $ 1000. Awesome deal for anyone looking for a hutch that needs a little TLC.

I was very happy to find this place! A huge variety of pieces, great prices and very friendly staff. Yes it’s a bit ‘dirty’ but that’s how I like it. It’s packed full of great stuff to pick through. I will definitely be back regularly.

Went here today for the first time… had not seen it before so was excited to find it. A treasure of stuff to dig through… if you like digging/picking-this place is for you. Large quantity and selection of items-I left with an antique clipboard, set of end tables just waiting to be revamped and a Russian Ammunition Box(how cool is that?) Prices were fair-not garage sale cheap, but fair. I would’ve left with more but stuck to my cash budget. I’ll be back for sure! Oh yeah, I think I saw that hutch that I read about… it is $ 25-which I would gladly pay. The $ 1000 price tag was for the collectors item, original piece of artwork that is sitting on top of it.

This place makes you feel dirty as soon as you walk in. You just want to tell them to start over or try harder. I’ve seen worse, but it’s pretty bad. There were some items worth looking at, but the prices were insane! I mean seriously insane. Especially since you have to wade through the sea of thrift in order to look at anything. For example: there was a china hutch that looked like it had never been dusted, still had the 1962 flower shelving paper barely holding on to the bottom shelf. $ 1,000.00. I would have been surprised to see $ 100.00 on this thing. An old iron woven wall mirror $ 40.00. I would pay that at Pottery Barn on sale for the love of all that is thrifty. This is the 2nd time I’ve been. I always give everyone a second chance. The first time I saw a table I was willing to wager on…$ 50 with the broken leg. BROKENLEG! She said because it’s vintage. Oh OK. I would never go back to this hole. If you’re in the neighborhood go to the thrift store off of Folsom blvd towards the west/Sac State. There is one in front near the dollar store that has awesome prices and fabulous things and there is one in the very back of the lot behind it that is AMAZING. The vintage furniture selection is overwhelming.
