I was there last Friday, this place was horrible. Once the waiter delivered our items he never came back to see if we needed anything else. There was a packed house but only ONE restroom; the line was ridiculously long. The waiter quoted us the incorrect bill total, didn’t want to take our cash, said we had to give the cash to the person who reserved the party, he was very rude. I will not return to this location nor would I recommend it to anyone. I ordered a Chianti served in a glass(nice) but my husband ordered a beer which was served in a plastic party cup. That was so tacky. I ordered the ‘special’ prawn risotto; I received a wet mushy dish with chopped shrimp. I don’t recommend this place at all.

Pizza is really good. They have a nice selection of wine and the inside is very cute! Customer service is excellent and I recommend trying it if you haven’t.

Great food and great wine! I found this place a month ago and have been back 3 times since. You won’t be disappointed! On Wednesday nights, you can get a bottle of wine and a pizza for $ 25. I recommend the Pinot noir and autumn pizza!

What a cute place! I drive by all the time and never knew this was an urban winery. Its a good spot to catch up with friends or for date night. While the indoor seating is nice, I prefer the outdoor seating even if it is a bit chilly out. The wine selection is good and the staff is very generous with the pours and making suggestions. The food was also tasty and arrived quickly. This is definitely one of my go to spots.

We stopped here for a glass of wine and an appetizer while live jazz was playing on the patio. Were the night warmer and the patio more populated, this would have been an amazing experience. The music was great, and the wine was delicious, but the toast for the artichoke dip was less toasty and more chewy. I’d like to visit in the nicer weather and hope that it’s a more lively scene.

I have been to the Cabana Winery 3 times now. The first time was good(good food and pretty good service). The second time was ok(good food but ok service) and the third time was terrible(ok food and terrible service). I was there with a group of ladies. We were their during happy hour. The server barely came over to check in with us or get addtl orders. He was not a friendly server and gave attitude as well throughout the night. The part that was really terrible was that the bill was completely wrong but he would not bring us an updated bill to reflect the current charges. We had ordered 2 cheese platters but were charged for 3 cheese platters. 2 of our party have gluten intolerance issues. They offer gluten free crackers but he never informed our party that we would be charged $ 2 to get the gluten free crackers. Initially our server refused to bring us gluten free crackers for our second order of the cheese platter(after one of the party members asked to get it because she has gluten issues), He actually said that we had enough gluten free crackers from the first order so we do not need anymore. It was very rude. After some time passed, I asked if we can get the gluten free crackers. He said yes but never mentioned it would cost. After we got the bill and started analyzing things, we also realized that we were being overcharged for our drinks. We showed up during happy hour but the bill did not reflect any items were at happy hour prices. He would not provide us with a hour hour menu to reconcile the bill. He also would not adjust the drinks ordered to happy hour prices except the pinot noir wines even though their email indicated that other drinks are on happy hour prices This was from Cabana Winery email list sent to me the day before… $ 2 House Beers $ 4 House Wines & Champagne Cocktails $ 4 Premium Draft Beer/Ciders $ 5 Premium Cabana Wines $ 5 Specialty Drinks After we pointed out the many issues with the bill, he gave us a few extra dollars back for the pinot noir wine but refused to update the bill. So it was hard to figure out what our real total was so that we could tip appropriately. In addition to all of this, we had a few credit cards being charged but he did not provide any of us a copy of the cc slip for our own records. We all felt like we were being overcharged and that someone at the restaurant was skimming the table. It also made me feel that they are taking advantage of people who may have a few glasses of wine in them and may not be paying attention to the bill as much. I really want to support East Sac businesses but it is not worth it for terrible service.

Really enjoy this place. Very friendly service and the wine is terrific. I love its quaint setting nestled in the east part of Sacramento. Highly recommend Cabana!

The pizza is very good. Nice selection of beer and wine. The vibe is very nice! They have live jazz music on occasion. I wouldn’t rate this place 5 stars – but a solid 4 star location!

The setting for this place is beautiful. The staff is super friendly, the vibe from the venue and patio makes a great brunch. Their wine has won multiple awards and really is a great place for their food. Would truly recommend to check out this venue to eat.

Let me start with their brunch: fresh. My meal came with peppers, potatoes and onion. Everything tasted like it came right from the garden to my plate. Truly farm to fork. The atmosphere was a very hometown humble but classy feel, basically what every Bistro needs to be. The outdoor seating is quaint and beautiful. Now; the WINE: phenomenal. Award winning infact and you can tell by the flavor. Robert the owner was very friendly and especially passionate about what you can tell is his dream– but even without him telling you about all the effort put into the wine, the flavor and aroma speak for themselves. I’ll be back for some Cab soon.

I came here yesterday with a friend of mine to redeem a Groupon. The Groupon was for four wine tastings and a bottle of wine. I was starving so my friend and I also ordered some food. As for the wine I tried the Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabana Red, and the Cabernet. The Cabana Red and the Pinot Noir were my favorites. Since a bottle of the Pinot was included with my Groupon, I’m glad I liked it ;) My friend and I shared the charcuterie board, Autumn pizza(bacon, butternut squash, egg), and the adult root beer float. The food was really good. The adult root beer float was my favorite. Service was a little off. When I entered the bistro there was a gentleman standing next to the register who was completely absorbed in his phone. I tried standing so he could see me in his peripheral vision, but it took him a few minutes to recognize that I was there. As a whole I really enjoyed coming here and I will likely be back

Robert is the b’zness and their house red is an amazing value in both price and quality! WARNING: the menu seems simple and unassuming but should you order ANYTHING off of it you will fight yourself from going back every night for more. Not kidding.

Came here for brunch on a Sunday. Not many people here. I had the blueberry French toast and the florentine eggs Benedict. The food was good. The service was very good. They ran out of potatoes so the waiter(forgot his name) gave us unlimited mimosas for the price of one! Wow! There was only one cook so good took kind of long to come out but, we didn’t really mind. We weren’t in a rush and the atmosphere was comfortable. I didn’t stay for wine tasting but I did look over their menu. 7 for $ 20. Not bad. I will be coming back for the wine tasting. Overall, satisfied.

So we had a mid-week date night here last night. We had a very good time, good food, great wine and excellent service. We sat at the bar and enjoyed a chat with Sean. The owner, Robert, used to own Renwood winery in Amador, and it just so happened they had some of my very favorite old vine zin, Grandpere. We had a flight the Cabana wines then a glass of that Grandpere and then another glass of something else yummy. The wines are great. We brought home a bottle of pinot and a bottle of dessert wine as well. My all time favorite port was the colheita at Renwood and this dessert wine is reminiscent of that. I see a lot of mixed reviews here but our experience was great and we will be back. I had the eggplant and my fiancé had the flat iron steak with risotto. Both were great and the side salad was also. It’s a cute neighborhood place and I think you should give it a try! Good neighborhood restaurants are not easy to come by. Especially with wine this good.

After my mom had met Robert at another time and place, we decided to pay him a visit at Cabana. Despite no reservations we were welcomed in on Easter for brunch. The quaint residential style was warm, complete with Red Sox and Pats memorabilia. Robert is a misplaced vintner from Boston, but we won’t hold that against him. My mom had the traditional mimosa while I had the Cabana mimosa(made with Moscato). They were both delicious and balanced. Mom had the Bostonian Benedict. The smoked salmon was perfect, as was the hollandaise. It comes with roasted potatoes with a hint of onion. I had the Challah French Toast. As an east coast Jew like Robert, I can appreciate some good Challah. The serving was large and filling. The coffee was full-flavored and pretty on point. Overall we were fully pleased with our experience and with Robert’s hospitality. We even brought home a bottle of sparkling wine. Can’t wait to return for winetasting. Do yourself a favor and pay Cabana a visit.

Came back for their happy hour and I was a little disappointed with the FOOD menu. I had the fish tacos, and my friend ordered the chicken tacos, both were lacking in the flavor department. The fish taco was a little bland and I thought the fruit salsa(mango or papaya, I think) on it didn’t really go. Maybe some spices or lime could have punched up the flavor. It was wet and the soft taco just got soggy and fell apart in my hands. I would love to see a little more variety on their happy hour menu, with some other options(i.e. flatbread, sliders, cheese and meat plate, etc.). The dip and mushrooms are both spicy so I couldn’t eat them, so that just leaves the tacos and chicken skewer. Their brunch and great wines are what will bring me back, but I probably won’t return for the happy hour.

My boyfriend bought a groupon for this place. The Groupon allowed us to get 2 drinks(either mimosa or Bloody Mary) and 2 entrees. We arrived at this place. The owner gave us different option of where we could sit. There was seating inside this house like restaurant, outside like a big backyard with lots of tables and chairs, and the last place was like a garage with tables. We picked the garage. We sat there for about 10 minutes. The waitress didn’t hand us a menu and gave menus to the table next to us. My boyfriend went and grabbed our menus. The waitress came over and she apologized for taking a while. We sat there for a total 15 minutes then finally a waitress greeted us. She took our orders. My boyfriend ordered the Herman and I ordered the Egg Benedict. 10 minutes passed, the waitress dropped off 2 mimosa. It took them another 40 minutes to get our food. It felt like we waited a super long time. We expected the food to be really good because of the long wait. When the food came out, I liked the Egg Benedict because I poked my finger into the egg and it was still runny. The potatoes were really plain. I put salt and pepper on it but it had to do. We got the ketchup from the other table because we didn’t get any service the whole time we were there. I tried my boyfriend’s Herman dish was just an omelet with a few eggs beaten with some salmon in it. The omelette and eggs were really so bland. I put salt and pepper on it. Finally we got the bread and jelly 5 minute after our main dishes came.

Rating: 3.5 I came here for my birthday dinner with a group of 13. I was hesitant to even inquire about accommodations for such a large party based on photos posted. Little did I know, there’s a cute outdoor patio with a handful of tables. Some of my friends came a little earlier to take part in some wine tasting. My friend and I did the 12 tastings each — which turned out to be way more than enough! We were seated outside, and I’m not going to lie, it was a chilly November night; the heater lamps helped a lot, and so did our jackets. The food was so-so. I had the salmon, which was fresh and just enough seasoning. My friends ordered the burger, which they said was good with the sauce(bland without the sauce). The chicken risotto looked more like a big plate of fried rice — didn’t get to taste it though. Overall, wine tasting and the very friendly owner was the highlight of my visit. I’d probably come back here for HH or just wine tasting.

3.5 stars Cabana Winery & Bistro is another example of some of the new and exciting cafes opening in Sacramento. It features a wine bar, interesting menu items, patio — and outdoor live music on some nights. Robert, the owner, has been in the wine industry more than 25 years and recently sold his Renwood Winery. About two dozen wines, all of which Robert has had some involvement, and a few beers and cider, are served. We stopped into Cabana after hearing about it from friends. The café was quiet on an early Saturday evening, and Robert and his wine manager Sean were very friendly and helpful in explaining the menu, events and wines. Wines by the glass stat at $ 5, with bottles from $ 16 – 46. Pierini and Newcastle were on tap during our visit, as well as a beer from Uncommon Brewery of Santa Cruz. Local cider by Two Rivers, 22 oz bottle, $ 9. Menu items included a creamy cold cherry soup, which Robert explained was an old Polish recipe that came from his family, as well as a duck pâté for $ 9. While they were interesting, weren’t big fans of either dish. The crab cake and risotto were both good but not memorable(those are two dishes that should ALWAYS be memorable). Looks like they have a good thing started; we’ll circle back in a couple months to see if the food’s more appealing! At a Glance: Food: 3 — Menu is hit-and-miss but certainly decent. Service: 4 — The owner’s friendly and engaging! Setting: 3 — Front patio is nice — might come back to check out the concert setup. Value: 3– Get me some more! Date worthy: 3 — After dinner, you can walk to Tupelo for espresso — then Heavenly’s for some fro-yo! Dogs: IDK!

Cheapest flight I’ve ever taken! Take that Southwest! Haha, 7 tastes(approx 2oz) for $ 20. They have other choices, but I went for the gusto! Why not try their entire line of wines in one fell sweep?! We did not enjoy the food, however after eye hustling everyone else on the patio it all looked good. I’ve heard good things via Social Media/friends as well, so I will be back to try something off their food menu(I will update when this has been accomplished)! I love how this is a local, small, yet personable winery. The owner was there and really nice. He even thanked us for stopping by as we walked out, although he was having dinner(from what I could tell) with his wife and daughter. The service was impeccable. They checked on us multiple times, without feeling overbearing. If you can brave the Sacramento summer heat, their patio is quaint and nice, just don’t sit by the flower pots(bees will keep you company). They also have an indoor area, which is cool as a cucumber, if you can’t hang outside. On Sunday night(my first and only visit so far), there was a nice fella singing and playing his piano. It was very low key and he was talking to the crowd and interacting with us. I’m smitten with the little tasting glasses. They are stemless and mini, so essentially they are adorable. I love the little touches Cabana has done to make their place feel like a winery, but with out the snobby, pretentious vibe! East Sac wins again!
