Café Bernardo at Pavilions has superb, delicious food served quickly in a casual, easy to feel relaxed atmosphere. We sat on the patio enjoying the evening and our meal. Our server John was attentive and gave us great suggestions to our order which turned out exactly as he said it would! There is an array of salads but the best way to get a taste of them all is to order a salad sampler. It contains your three choices(we chose the kale, Asian noodles and mushroom risotto for $ 11.00+, a great saving as each salad ordered individually was about $ 6. My husband ordered the flat iron steak and I had the grilled salmon, Portions were generous and I took half of my entrée home to enjoy later. The flat iron steak was tender, flavorful and served with fingerling potatoes and spinach. My grilled slamon sat on a bed of sliced asparagus and carrots in a buttery sauce. My husband remarked, «We’re coming back soon!»

Usually pretty good food. Breakfast menu has lots of good choices. The breakfast burrito is pretty tasty. Lunch/Dinner the Thai noodle salad is a hit. Banh Mi sandwich is flavorful but the meat is way too fatty and if you order the mixed greens as a side, don’t be fooled, it’s not the mixed green salad but literally just mixed greens. Disappointing.

We love this place. I’m a vegetarian and their veggie burger and their salads are the best ever! Hubby is mostly a carnivore but loves everything in the menu. Girls love the cheese pizza and pasta. Breakfast is great too. We go here at least once a month. I also recommend their carrot cake. Best in town.

26⁄100: Came here for an anniversary breakfast with my manfriend since it’s in the same plaza as Insight Coffee and it was a pretty nice café! Pros: — Located in the Pavillions, which itself, is a neatly decorated plaza with a couple of neat stores. — Lots of parking in the parking lot since it’s inside the plaza. — Seating is available indoor and outdoor. — Lovely interior that has a very simplistic atmosphere to it. — Menu is pretty simple. Contains breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert. — Water/coffee is self serve. — Service is fast and efficient. Food comes out quickly. Cons: — Foods are standard, pretty much something you can make at home yourself. — Small charges for certain sides. Overall, a lovely place to dine at if you’re wanting a quick brunch or a filling lunch ~(ayeee that rhymed)

Our first visit here and we were pleasantly surprised considering some of the mediocre reviews on Unilocal. This place has a hip vibe and the décor is on point. Food was good, but we felt it was a little pricey considering it is a café with counter service. You order at the counter and then pick a table to sit at. If you would like a glass of water for example, they have a self serve«water» station. So essentially no server is assigned to your table, nor does anyone check on you while dining, but I’d say it’s expected since it is a café after all. Overall we had a great experience. I really enjoyed the atmosphere here. We look forward to coming back.

Looooove café Bernardo’s, they have house made honey lemonade which is to die for. Normally you would think honey lemonade would taste weird, but no it’s not too sweet it’s like the perfect combo of sweet and settle. I always order the roasted turkey breast sandwich. I’ve only gone to the one at the pavilions and it’s not the best service, I never got water until halfway through my meal when I flagged down a waiter. The prices are good, but they charge you for fries which I think is dumb because it should just be included in your entire meal. I love how there outside seating is set up, they have the comfiest booths where you can sit outside and enjoy your lunch. But other than that I recommend you go to any of there locations!

My lady and I recently stopped to grab an early lunch at Café Bernardo in the Pavilions. I am glad we did, very pleasant experience. This establishment has both indoor and outdoor seating. Curtains around some of the outdoor tables to provide protection from the sun and a little privacy. Overall, very comfortable with interesting décor. We sat in a large booth in the bar. The bartender was front and center before we knew it — there to serve. We started with wine. I tried the Conn Creek(Napa) Cabernet and my wife ordered a Rombauer Chardonnay. She loves this label and was most pleased … as it is not often offered in restaurants, let alone by the glass. The cab was big, dry and smooth. I then ordered the«small» mushroom & jarlsberg cheese salad with a lemon vinaigrette. It was great but gigantic. My wife tried the spiced carrot soup which is well worth sampling. It included jalapeño yogurt on top. I also ordered a niman ranch angus burger with no bun and sweet potato fries. I often order hamburgers this way in order to really assess the quality of the beef and to save a few calories. The burger was yummy and the sweet potato fries were almost silly good. I will order again. Before we realized how large the salads were, my partner selected a salad sampler which included the mushroom salad along with a Thai noodle salad which was a meal in itself and delightful. Noodles, chicken, cucumbers, green onions and spicy peanut dressing. I recommend this restaurant.

I ordered the grilled salmon BLT and enjoyed it with an iced tea on the patio today and about cried tears of joy for the whole experience. Although I usually come here for brunch on the weekend, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food available at the lunch hour. Service is warm and welcoming as always… My only regret is that I didn’t get a pastry to go for dessert.

I was skeptical about whether I would love this place based on the reviews but I am glad they set the meeting place here. With 3 stars it can always go either way. The staff was super friendly. They have 2 sides of this café, one is a self seat area where you order your food at the counter and take a seat where you please. We sat in the bar area which someone serves you, same menu and they have happy hour at 3pm. We sat down at 2pm. It took me awhile to decide what to get but I asked questions and the recommendations were great. I ordered the flank steak which came with fingerling potatoes, Brussel sprouts and shitake mushroom cream sauce, he got a mixed green salad with apples and goat cheese. We shared both entrees. They were both delicious! Flank steak is usually dry and not very tasty at other places but here it had the right amount of flavor and the cream sauce complimented this dish well. The mixed green salad which originally came with almonds but substituted apples instead was very good as well. Satisfied with service and food. If in the area I shall return!

One of my dining guidelines is don’t order Asian dishes unless you’re at an Asian restaurant. Turns out I don’t always follow my own advice, but it has meant good things here. Had a bahn mi on my latest visit and while it was significantly more expensive that what you might find on Stockton Blvd., it was better than the bahn mi at one of Sacramento’s trendiest Asian eateries, due to softer bread. I also had salad greens that were fresh and delicious. On a previous visit I ordered an Asian noodle salad that was a little heavy on peanut sauce but still tasty. My wife orders the same thing every time — a grilled salmon salad with avocado, navel orange slices, arugula, endive, red onion and almonds. She calls it the best in town. All in all the prices are reasonable, especially for dinner. The bahn mi with salad was $ 13 and the salmon salad was $ 14. Cocktails are another story — a couple of lemon drops with Grey Goose set us back an additional $ 22. I recommend grabbing a table on the patio. It gives you an opportunity to view the closest thing Sacramento has to a high-end auto show with glimpses of Lambos, Maseratis and Ferraris purring through the Pavilions parking lot, not to mention the more pedestrian Jags, Mercedes, Beamers, Lexuses and Range Rovers.

We had a large group meet here for brunch on a recent Sunday and it was lovely. The food was fabulous, loved the décor and the service was excellent. The only thing that was not first rate was my latte — it came in a giant bowl(no handle), overfilled so the saucer was a wet, drippy mess and it was only luke warm. The flavor was good, however. I had the whole grain/blueberry pancakes and a side of bacon. Bacon was cooked perfectly and the pancakes were outrageously good. I had to share them around the table and everyone agreed. Prices were very fair for the portions.

When I lived in Sacramento, I frequented this spot, great atmosphere and friendly service. The salads are always super fresh and innovative, delicious sandwiches, I have tried most of the menu. Yesterday, my friend had the best BLT salmon sandwich and salad side. I had the grilled salmon salad, the salmon was perfectly seared, and the dressing was so good. The beer selection is really good and the wine pour is excellent. I like all the Paragary restaurants, when I left Sac they were remodeling my favorite restaurant on N street, anxious to go back to that one too. Wish I had a Café Bernardo in SF.

My favorite thing about Café Bernardo is the $ 10 mimosa carafes on the weekends. ½ a liter of mimosas for $ 10 is such a great deal compared to the $ 8 per glass they offer. It’s great two people(4 glasses). The breakfast is pretty standard. I think I could make everything myself at home easily. I’ve never had anything bad here, but nothing stellar that I HAVE to go back for. I love this specific location at the Pavilions because their outdoor seating is really nice. Overall, this place is worth trying if you want an affordable brunch place where you don’t have to wait 20+ minutes for a table.

This place has a cute and chic feel, with open seating and great service. I had the Asian noodle salad, which was a literally heaping portion of chilled noodles, chicken, peanuts, scallions, and radicchio. I wish there had been more chicken and less noodles, but overall the flavor was there. Definitely large enough to share! My boyfriend had the turkey sandwich and side salad, which he said was really good. It does seem a bit pricey for the order at counter style, but it was a lot of food for our money. I’ll definitely be back when I’m back in town!

This place is highly underrated. My husband and I had family in town and we came here for dinner. The staff was sweet and patient. The service was very quick and accommodating. The food was DELICIOUS! When you first walk in you will see a menu and I was confused to as if we were to order there or be seated but the staff was quick to explain the set up. We met some people in the bar but once we realized the size of the party the staff was quick to get us a place in the dining area. They have a variety of seating including a long family style table! The prices are going to be at least 15 dollars per person without adult beverages which would go up at least 10 dollars on average per person. I think for the quality of the food, service, and atmosphere, you are getting a bargain! I can’t wait to come back for brunch.

I had the pleasure of having lunch here with my mom & sister who came to Sacramento for the day. I enjoyed their Farro Salad with golden raisins and roasted butternut squash with toasted hazelnuts and kale. It was very good, and I was given the option of a small or large size, I chose the small, and was so glad I did, as the salad itself was quite filling and the small size actually turned out to be larger than I thought it would be! In addition, I ordered, one of my seasonal favorites, Butternut Squash Soup with toasted hazelnuts. Excellent taste and nice consistency, I don’t care for this type of soup if it’s too thin. This soup was perfect! The space itself is nice, with outdoor seating an option. Great high ceilings and concrete flooring. They do counter service and bring your order to you. At the counter where you place your order, you can checkout their great selection of baked goodies for dessert or to just enjoy with coffee or tea. And speaking of tea, they have a nice selection to choose from. Located in the Pavilions, it’s a wonderful place to relax and enjoy some food, before or after your shopping.

I love this Café Bernardo location. The décor is adorable and there are a lot of seating options including in the bar that’s connected. The food is always delicious, decently priced, and prepared relatively quickly. It’s like upscale fast food. The menu consists mainly of salads, sandwiches, and a few dinner options. I love the grilled ham and cheese sandwich. Mac and cheese is also tasty. You order your food at the counter and then you’re given a playing card to take to your seat. The food is brought out when ready. One time they burned our pizza(like the bottom was completely black) but compensated by giving us a brand new pizza and a complimentary pastry to-go. That’s just an example of the great customer service that’s provided here. Even though it’s not a complete sit-down restaurant, Café Bernardo has the ambience and service of fine dining but is effortlessly casual and cool.

I really love how beautiful this café is. It feel really chic, modern and inviting and its located in the Pavilions so even better. For me the problem was the food. I ordered two eggs overeasy that came with toast and potatoes. They were pretty good with fresh ingredients but everything tasted like it was literally drenched in oil and butter. I literally wipes oil from my lips that soaked a part of my tissue. Too much oil(also I tasted almost like a reused oil taste or maybe it’s the grill) from my eggs– Yogurt however looked fresh and yummy from what I observed across the table.

First Visit here and did not know what to expect, The staff and service were GREAT! helpful with the menu since this was our first visit. Nice open seating area and patio. so you walk in and place your order then find a seat. The dessert case is right in the front so you cannot miss out on that. We ordered the 3-salad sampler which was DELISH! and a mushroom melt sandwich. This location have lots of parking, limited booths and busy during the lunch hour.

Live time here… Totally enjoying a cocktail with my hubby who’s enjoying a nice Pinot! Just have to Unilocal out how incredible christina our cocktail person /wait person extraordinaire is. This young woman totally rocks. Has she ever met a stranger… O and that cosmopolitan she just brought me made by Lisa… the bartender,… best ever!!! Nothing better than happy hour at the pavilions!
