I just got an older boat. The canvas was badly stained and I went to steve for replacement. Shop was busy, clean and doing all kinds of canvas and upholstery jobs. Steve took his time to look at my canvas and recommend that I get it steam cleaned by another business. I really appreciate his honesty and will go there for any future canvas work I need.

I had Canvas Experts (5^th St. Sacramento Ca.) make a Bemini shade cover for my 21 foot pontoon boat a couple of months ago. They did a FANTASTIC job. Steve the owner has been making these for 30 years. He was the only maker I could find that could make the frame work in square tubing to match the other Bemini on my Boat. He also solved a couple of issues the other makers didn’t even address. He advised me to have the Bemini made with Sunbrella for long lasting and good looking appearance.
To top it off he was less expensive than the other makers.

I boughty boat earlier this year and have been wanting to have a few vinyl repairs done to the seats and to the rear sun pad. The seats had a few rips and tears and the back sunpad had burn marks from the previous owner. I also wanted a nice custom snap in canvas top made for my boat. Trying to save a few bucks, I called a few guys off of Craigslist to get a few estimates for the repairs and for the canvas. This is where Steve of Canvas Experts comes in. While having my boat serviced at a neighboring shop, I had Steve take a look at my boat for an estimate. Although his price was slightly higher than the guys from Craigslist, it was more than worth it being that this was an actual established business. I was able to walk through his facility and see some of the work they had done in the past. This gave me a sense of confidence compared to having a Craigslist stranger remove parts from my boat to do the work elsewhere, and hoping I actually get them back.
Needless to say, the canvas top came out beautifully. Custom fitted out of Sunbrella material to match my existing bimini and made tight as a drum. The tears on the seats, burn mark on the sunpad, and miscellaneous tears and scrapes on the side panels are all gone! I could not be happier.

Canvas Experts built a custom cover for my Santana 20 sailboat. It fit great, looks great, and was reasonably priced for a custom sailboat cover. They also do a great job supporting the cover after it is sold.
I cannot recommend them strongly enough. They are friendly, and do great work.
I should note that I am not the only one. Two other members of my fleet have covers from Canvas Experts and love them.
