Very clean, with a nice selection of hard to find products. The prices on produce were cheaper than regular grocery prices. The marinated meats are wonderful!

Although I do not reside in South Sacramento, this carniceria came highly referred. It is safe to say that for ANY family gatherings, we are all willing to travel out of our area to make sure we have the best quality of food. They always have great specials and seem to be very family orientated. I recommend this place to anyone with great taste. I promise, you will not be disappointed.

My close friend suggested this store to me because of their high quality meats and competitive prices. When I arrived, the family owners kindly introduced me to their extensive selection of meats. The prices were similar if not cheaper to other stores in the area, however their quality of their dishes were far superior. Their ceviche for example swept me off my feet and satisfied my taste buds. All other stores failed to meet up to their amazing quality and service.

One of the morning cashiers is a real bitch. She’s rude but the butchers and cooks and everybody else are super nice. Meat is fresh and there’s no bad odor in there.

This place is amazing, fresh cuts, best meat and produce around the area. The owner Rogelio and his son are super nice people and are always providing the best customer service. I would definitely recommend this place. Very clean and friendly.

WELL don’t EVER go to Carneceria Lopez because they put the fresh large shrimp on top and the small ones in the bottom of their display section just to make u think your buying the large shrimp! Dammit I paid for large shrimp!!! Friggin ripoffs SMH…

if you are looking for decent tacos, great meat to throw on the bbq(ranchera carne asada), fresh ceviche by the pound(3 kinds), guacamole or salsa, this is the place. limes are hella cheap. cilantro, too. you can get those delicious mexican paletas(popsicles). if you don;t know what it is, buy one. you’ll probably like it. there’s always a couple of people around who speak english. i like the deli counter better than the hot food, btw. the carne asada is always a hit.

I had an adabada super burriito for $ 4.50. It was very satisfying and big, with lots of sour cream and guacamole. It was also very greasy. I felt guilty afterwords and wished I would have ordered chicken. My husband asked me to get him a veggie super burrito and he did not love it. I will come back and try more items, when I can.

i grew up in south sacramento and have always gone to this carniceria. i dont really know what happened to this place. i remember when i was growing up, that it was always popping and full of people, no room to even walk normally. so i went back this last week and was amazed at how bad it’s gotten. the service is horrible, the store was practically empty and the guy behind the meat counter was literally dragging his feet to come help me. the cashier was on HERPHONE while checking us out, rolling her eyes and looking bored out of her mind. i don’t expect much but damn that was pretty bad. i think i’ll probably go somewhere else next time i want crema and cheese. so now you know.

I dropped in on Carniceria Lopez for carnitas and asada because La Esperanza, my favorite place, had already run out of the meaty goodness I needed for my tacos. The store was neatly organized and all the meat cases were well-labeled and clean. The(raw) meat looked fresh and was nicely arranged. There was a line of people waiting for the prepared foods– tacos, burritos, nachos, etc. I got a pound of carnitas(5.99) and a pound of carne asada($ 7.99). The asada was pretty flavorful, though a bit too fatty for my taste. The carnitas were on the dry side but fine overall. I definitely prefer La Esperanza over this place, but it’s a good stand-by. All the staff I interacted with were really friendly and the shop was clean, which counts for a lot :)

Tucked in behind La Favorita Taqueria at the northwest corner of Fruitridge Rd & Franklin Blvd is a small Mexican butcher shop & store named Carniceria Lopez. On the shelves are the usual Bimbo bread, Chocolate Ibarra, fire-hot Chicharrones and candies with salt and hot sauce in them. The best part of the store is in the back at the lunch counter. It’s a walk up with no tables — just a board with some dirt cheap prices for some of the best tacos and burritos in town. They may have someone working who understands English, but don’t count on it — but they have never laughed too hard at my mangled Spanish. For me it’s hard to pass up the La Favorita out front when I want some Mexican food, but be sure to give the butcher shop a chance. For the uninitiated it may be a little *too* authentic, but for my four lunch dollars it’s the closest thing to south of the border here in Sactown.

I went back today for the small sized child(aka Carnitas burrito) that proceeded to knock me the fug out a half hour later. $ 4.50. WOW!

This is my FAVORITE place for mexician food! Especially the super burritos, tacos, tortas, and they do a GREAT shrimp cocktail. I have been going here for years and will not try another location. My favorite cook by request is Eva! oh ya its only take-out and very reasonable, filling, and DELICIOUS! Mmmmm. And to warn you it smells funny in here but totally worth it.
