Cheesesteak Plus

It’s been a few days since I last ate here… I told myself I’d sleep on the review to see what rating I should give because it really pains me to give this place 2 stars… but I have given better places 3 stars so I will leave it at 2.
Our cashier was nice, she took our order of: 8 «jumbo» wings, philly cheese steak, fries and a milk shake. She told us that the milkshake machine wasn’t working? So maybe I should count my blessings. Do I really want a milk shake coming from a machine? What happened to the good olé fashion blender, ice cream and milk? So I opted for a soft drink instead. Really didn’t have a choice in the matter. I get out my credit card to pay and was told they do not accept credit card. Debit only with a .50 Cent charge.
After we got our drink we sat down and then I started sipping away while patiently waiting for our food to come out… and we waited and waited and saw the previous two customers who ordered after us get their meals first. A little annoying since it took them 15 minutes to finally give us our meals. Yes I timed it! So onto the food: The wings were super salty and in no means «jumbo» If they want to see jumbo, they should go order the wings at Boiling Crab. The fries weren’t that good either and cheese steak was missing so much flavor.
What I will say that was positive is the interior of the place. It’s a GREAT place to bring kids as they can write on the chalk board and play tic tac toe.
My boyfriend and I have a saying when we eat somewhere we don’t like for the first time. «Eat to know». And yes… we ate and now know that we will stick with our Cheese Steak Restaurant for our cheese steak fix.

I think their cheese steaks are pretty good. I had bell peppers, jalepenos, and cherry peppers with Provolone. But seriously, where’s the Pepperjack? My son LOVES the kid’s air hockey table and drawing on the chalk board, which are more the reasons why we’ve been there twice in the last week. Today the even gave him a balloon, so they’re definitely family friendly. Yes, their sandwiches are on the smaller side, so why is the wait SO long??? Think I’ll try the Cheesesteak Restaurant next…

The cheesesteaks are kinda small for $ 5. My friends and I went there on a tuesday, because we were suckered by the signs that they had on the side of the road… I wouldnt say its the best cheesestake, I rather go to Arden and go to steak escape.

and, don’t get the mini donuts for $ 1, it was a rip off :(it was VERY SMALL…

Tried this place after work today. When my party of 3 walked in around 7 pm, there was no one else here. I wasn’t even sure if this place was open because their sign was off. We went ahead and walked in and informed them their open sign was off. They completely forgot to turn it on.
My son loved their air hockey tables and the chalk boards that kept him busy. We ordered the Combo #1 which included 2 chili dogs, fries and a drink. My son who is very picky ate one whole Chilidog. He stated that it was good.
We also ordered the Combo #3, Cheese Steak, fries and a drink. The cheese steak was good, nothing special, but good.
We all loved the fresh cut fries. We thought it was good. Since we were the only party here, the service was wonderful. I couldn’t complain too much about that. The place was cleaned and the employees were nice. I believe Allen is the owner there. He was the only person doing the cooking and he was very helpful.
My son got their $ 1 soft serve Ice cream and he was happy. Then again, its hard to mess up on that when it comes out of a machine. Next time, I will try their Jumbo Wings. It seemed good though.
One note — They do not accept credit cards. They accept CASH and ATM cards only. If you choose to use your ATM card, there is a additional 45 cents fee. I didn’t mind the fee because they did have a sign regarding that.
Overall, I would come back here again because everything was good.

Small menu but good price. Love the chalk board and the air hockey table

I went in March 2^nd for the very first time with the boyfriend and I’ll have to give it an extra star just because it just opened up. I really liked how it sounded at first… cheese steaks, milkshakes, CHICKEN WINGS (my favorite), fresh cut fries… etc etc. I’m pretty sure they can work on the customer service I mean it just opened I don’t mind…
Anyways this is what we decided to get:
both got the cheese steak combo which was I believe $ 6.99, with a drink
and fresh cut fries. now thats what I’m talking about baby.
so i waited about 30 – 45 minutes for my food and it was pretty sad because the lady that ordered to-​go after us got her food before us. The people sitting behind us were waiting a while too, got their food 30 minutes after our wait, and then when they finished their food we were still waiting! I believe that can be worked on… any who, now to the food!!!
Cheese steak: I bit into the cheese steak and i was like WHAT THE EFF? it was like eating SALT, maybe thats why they keep the chalk board next to you so you can enjoy your food more and SLOWLY. At first i thought it was the meat that was salty then I had to try every part of the cheese steak from bread to veggies to meat. and for some reason the meat and veggie was fine and the bread was SALTY. maybe its the type of sauce they use? I have no clue, but CUT DOWN ON THE SODIUM. me and the boyfriend couldn’t finish it due to the saltiness and just ate most of the fries.
Fries: Nice and fresh cut, yum not bad but a bit on the greasy side, maybe they should try double frying it or blanching it before they fry it so its not as greasy. that was the most decent thing we had there. his fries were under cooked though =/​. IDK. the worst ever meal I’ve ever had.

I am soooo sorry I cheated on the Cheesesteak Restaurant. I chose poorly… Cheesesteak Plus was disappointing in every aspect of food and service. We came in on a Saturday towards the end of the lunch crowd… around 1:15pm. There place was not even half full… there were a total of around 6 people already sitting at tables, so that meant they would’ve already ordered their food. After we ordered, we did not get our food for another 30 minutes. WTF? There were FIVE girls working in the back. WTF were they doing if they weren’t turning out orders? I have no idea, but I heard a lot of giggling. Please less giggle, more cooking! Finally after our 30 minute wait and contemplating if we should just head over to Golden Corral for immediate satisfaction, we get our tray of eats. The fries were cut thin with the skin on, but unfortunately they were cold by the time we received them. The wings were god awful… they seemed old and dry, and very greasy. The wings were also tasteless and relied heavily on the blue cheese dressing for flavor. The blue cheese dressing wasn’t very tasty either. I got a cheesesteak with mushrooms and onions and provolone cheese. The meat was okay, but as a whole it was not very good. The bun was small and fell apart after a few man handles. The sandwich was overall too greasy. A 30 minute wait for a bad cheesesteak… damn, I wish I went to Golden Corral or the other cheesesteak place on Elk Grove. I won’t be coming back here nor do I recommend anyone else to try out this greasy spoon.
Our meal also came with donuts… nasty donuts. They were tiny rings of fried reddish colored dough. They were dark and oily. Yuck!

A good cheesesteak sandwich can always be appreciated and keep you coming back for more, and bring more people with you when you come back.
$ 5 for a cheesesteak sandwich seemed to reel me in for lunch here and it was well worth the $ 5. Decent amount of lightly seasoned beef and cheese. I got it with grilled onions, sauteed mushrooms, and green bell peppers. Oh yeah, and of course Swiss Cheese. It was greasy, but in a good way… what do you expect from a philly cheesesteak sandwich anyway? You’re not exactly aiming for non-​fat low cal dining!
In the future, I would like more veggies like Yvonne N. said … shredded lettuce and sliced tomatoes would be nice, I would even be better with some PEPPERJACK CHEESE (big fan of pepperjack so it deserved to be in caps).
Service took extremely long but they seemed a little understaffed and overwhelmed with the lunch rush of customers. We tried to be understanding because it’s a new establishment and it’ll get better with experience… BUT our stomach’s weren’t very understanding so we waited about 40 – 45 minutes.

Best believe that $ 5 cheesesteaks sign was what got us in here! Very impressive. chalkboards, 2 air hockey tables and lots of space. Let’s see how the food tastes. shall update ASAP!

Soo.their selection is pretty decent. They have cheesesteaks for $ 5, which includes 3 vegetables of your choice and cheese. Vegetable choices: banana pepper, cherry pepper, bell pepper, mushrooms, grilled onions, and uhhh one more pepper I didn’t really care for (tip: provide shredded lettuce and tomatoes!!). Cheese selection: cheddar cheese, swiss cheese and provolone (tip: add more choices!!). They offer 8 wings for %5.99, chili dogs for $ 1.50 or so, milkshakes, kids meals with mini donuts, etc. etc.
I had a cheesesteak with bell pepper, mushroom, and grilled onions and although it was ‘see-​right-​through-​the-​paper-​greasy’, it wasn’t too shabby. Pretty flavorful with just the right amount of cheese. The fries are thin cut with the potato skins on, which is a plus. but they weren’t fresh by the time they reached our tables =(The wings were a big disappointment… I just had one and one was enough.
As for entertainment, they provide two air hockey tables, one for adults and an itty bitty one for kids! I love it! They also provide chalk at each table because their walls are lined with chalkboard. There’s even a chalkboard next to the air hockey tables for you to keep score!
Overall, the food was alright. It took awhile for the food to come out but I’ll be nice since they just opened. What saved this review was their ambience and price. $ 5 for a cheesesteak, $ 6.99 for the combo! Just one more tip: add some TV’s and some beers! ;)
