I am a big, big baby as far as anything to do with the dentist is concerned so when I was told I needed a wisdom tooth removed AND I would have to have a bone graft under anesthetic I nearly decided to emigrate again. On my first visit to Dr Chaing my blood pressure was so high he refused to operate until I had seen a Doctor to have it checked out. After a couple of months being monitored it was proven to be no more than ‘white coat phobia’, and despite my(joking) admission to Dr Chaing that as soon as a Dentist loomed over me in the chair my flight reflexes kicked in and I felt ready to punch and kick out in defense he still calmly and with a smile agreed to look after me! I need not have worried. I genuinely felt no real pain — I was out of sorts, woozy from the drugs and uncomfortable for a week or so afterwards but nothing as severe as I had expected. The staff who looked after me were all genuinely kind and thoughtful, the place was immaculately clean and I did not have to wait more than a minute or two on my arrival for any appointment. A month or so later with stitches removed — again painlessly — my mouth is practically healed and I am so pleased I had the work done. I would highly recommend this gentleman and his practice.
