This is a GREAT setting for feeling really«in Sacramento»!! You can sit inside where you avoid the weather and stare at the river and all of its activity, or enjoy outdoor seating on the deck overlooking the river. The food is great(LOVED the Arugula Salad), and drinks well-done! Staff is very friendly! If you go to Old Sacramento, definitely fit the Delta King’s Bar and Grill in your visit!

My loving husband and I spent an afternoon in Sacramento. After strolling around Capitol and Old Town we decided to have late lunch at Delta. We made a terrific choice. All the dishes we ordered were fantastic. Crab cakes(only two) I wish it was more. Juicy and really taste the crab. The beet salad and clam chowder were excellent. The Mediterranean meat balls were average but I still give 5 stars because of the service. Our server was very attentive and sweet. She gave me a birthday cake with candle and it’s my favorite too dark chocolate cake ala mode. She even gave me coffee with that. We will b back definitely. Thank you for a special treat and to my husband

My husband and I decided to go on a road trip for Valentine’s day. We stopped here for breakfast after being in the car for an hour and a half. We went in, our waitress showed up, took our order, and disappeared! We saw her once, after 15 minutes one of the other waiters came to refill the coffee, she brought our food, and disappeared again! Not once did she check on us!!! We had to find another waiter to get our check. She brings our check and disappeared again! !! We waited another 10 minutes and she never showed up! Soooo… the food was amazing, 5 stars for that, but if you are wanting to be waited on, go somewhere else! Very disappointed especially since they were not busy!!!

I tried out the bar while waiting for the Suspects Mystery Dinner also on board the Delta King. There is definitely some charm added because of the location on the boat. The bar was small and quaint, had televisions with sports games on, including the Sharks, so we like that aspect. The bar got very crowded right before the Mystery Dinner, so the servers seemed to have a hard time keeping up with orders and service. Even before the crowd gathered, it took forever to get someone to actually take our order and serve us, although they did acknowledge our presence several times, which alleviated some of the ill-feelings we may have had for waiting so long. We ordered a hummus and naan bread dish, which did the trick to hit the spot while waiting for dinner… The only thing was, they ran out of naan bread, so they took especially long to serve us and made several trips to replenish the bread since they only had a couple pieces ready at the time(maybe they were hand-making more, or had to run to the store while we waited– not sure, but it took a long time to get our appetizer). Even getting the bill took awhile to take care of because the servers took forever to get to our table to check on us. Clearly, they were understaffed or had needed better management.

Great place to have lunch. Went here on a Tuesday at 12:30. It wasn’t busy so we sat outside. Had the shrimp Louis, and it was delicious. Very fresh with lots of shrimp. The service was a little slow. But the atmosphere made up for it.

We had the Prime Rib dinner. Food was really good. We had the Caesar salad it was just as wonderful. The dressing was just what you would hope for in a great Caesar salad. Not sure why the rating is so low. I’ve never had a bad meal here. The service is always good too, as is the atmosphere.

Food: — Crab Cakes: Dungeness and Maryland crab lumped into a patty and pan fried. Served with greens and cherry tomatoes. 4⁄5 — Calamari: Nicely seasoned and tender. 4⁄5 — Cajun Linguine: Sausages, chicken and shrimp with creamy Cajun sauce, garnished with chives. This was delicious dish. It had great flavor and a nice hint of spice. 4⁄5 Service: Very professional and friendly. 4⁄5 Final Thoughts: I would definitely come back. Great food and it’s pretty cool to dine on a boat.

We had a lot of fun here for my moms birthday! It’s fun to be on a boat and the food was surprisingly good! We were a little confused because we thought we would be eating at pilot house but I guess the menus are the same here and there anyway. One is up the stairs and one is down. Fun place to eat though if your in old town Sacramento.

I ate tonight something that blew my mind! The Salmon Risotto made by the incredible chef Justin was more than words. The service wasn’t over the top but the food was for sure. I will come back every time I’m in Sacramento.

I don’t understand why this place has a rating of 3, but I definitely will give this place a 5. The actors and actress are amazing of how they performed a performance to engage«us» passengers in the boat while eating dinner and identifying who shot who, and what was the motive of it. I definitely had the greatest experience coming here to dinner. I love it. I had such a great time, and plenty of laughters. Lol. This place is a must come visit I tell you. You be the judge. Don’t let the lower ratings of this business fool you. Although I had to admit the Bar is quite small place to get drinks at when there’s plenty of passengers on board on the ship.

Although the food actually was quite good, I’ve never been so furious with an establishment as I was this time. I surprised my wife for valentines with a reservation to the Delta Bar and Grill, it was a bit on the expensive side but the venue looked so cozy that I figured it would be worth it. Unfortunately as dinner progressed we started to get the feeling that they were rushing the serving so that they could get us out of there and make more money. We barely had time to finish up one plate before the next one was brought out. On top of all that, the waitress totally ignored us for the longest time! When you pay as much as we did you should be treated as royalty, but no such luck. I wish we had gone somewhere else and I will never go back.

Went there for dinner for work function — worst food ever. Salad appetizer I could get much better elsewhere. Dessert was some pastry puffs which tasted store bought. For entries there were three options– salmon, pork loin, risotto. Pork loin — dry as heck. Felt like I was chewing on a hockey puck. Salmon — bland. Ever heard of salt and pepper? Risotto — disgusting. Look like two day old dried up rice porridge. And sadly it looked better than it tasted. For people paying $ 40 per person, that is a frickin ripoff.

Servers/bar tenders aren’t allowed to have showing tattoos?! What is this, the 1950’s? Will never be dining here again. I get that it’s all ‘historical’ and what not, but seriously, get with the times. As someone with tattoos myself(I know, heathen right?), I’d rather give me money to a more accepting place of business.

First time dining at the Delta King in Old Sac. We were there to book a banquet room for a work function and decided to try out the food, and make sure it was acceptable for our needs. Loved the whole atmosphere and décor. This is really a neat place! My husband and I both went with the Kobe beef hamburger and fries. We both decided it was one of the best restaurant burgers we have ever had and would come back again and again for that burger. Patty cooked perfectly, and bun was just right. Not to soft or hard and handled that juicy patty with all the fixings just right. Be ware, this is not a neat and tidy meal. Ask for plenty of napkins! Fries are of the thick natural cut variety and very good as well. Service was just right :) Only complaint about the whole experience is they need to spend a little extra time throughout the facility cleaning up the cob webs and dust in all the nooks and crannies. Saw quite a bit of that in window sills and under tables. That would go a long way in classing the place up to the level I am sure they want to be.

Waited so long for a cheese plate appetizer we finished our drinks before it arrived. Canceled the appetizer, and surprise it was ready. Paid for the drinks and sent back the cheese plate. It took 45 minutes for it to arrive and had to ask for it.

We loved the setting… woody bar, nautical theme, beautiful river view. The bartender was friendly and knowledgable. The drinks were great. The cheese plate was yummy. It was a lovely, romantic evening. We will definitely return.

Dinner with a view, awesome night. We ordered Calamari and the chicken egg rolls too as appetizers. They were very good and the sauce for the Calamari was yummy. It had a nice spice to it and added great flavor. We came here after a graduation ceremony and enjoyed some cocktails on the bow of the boat and that was fun until the sun started to set and sank into our eyes but it was still very pretty. For our meal I went with the steak and potatoes and it was good, I didn’t have to use any steak sauce and that is how a steak should be. The drinks we added were made correctly and tasted yummy. Overall I would go back for appetizers or a special night out.

I’ve been spending a lot of time in the ol’ bar on the Delta King and I super-duper love it. It’s small and all wood paneled and feels cozy without being divey. And as the sun sets you get a fantastic water view. Bartenders are all super nice, drinks are a little spendy, nice appetizer/bar food menu. Try the chicken sliders!
