May 3, 2012, Thursday. Frankie Vanity treated me this night to a Grand Slam Breakfast at — Denny’s 9253rd Street, Sacramento, CA. After I finished my breakfast, I was still hungry. The potatoes were not fully cooked. You only get 2 thin slices of bacon. I wasn’t impressed, but for $ 8.95, what should I expect? The waitress looked like she had a lot on her mind and was not customer friendly.

I came at 4:30AM, and every table was dirty. Despite this, the waitress said to sit at any clean table. Since there was no clean table, I sat at the counter, which was also filty, and the waitress did not offer to wipe it for me. The food was good, as usual, but I had to ask for silverware and napkins. When I asked for mayonnaise, it was given to me on a plastic lid, and I had to ask for a knife to spread it with. After eating, I went to the men’s room to wash up, and the sink in the bathroom had vomit in it. It was clear that the waitresses had to deal with drunks before I got there, yet they stayed cheerful. I’ve eaten at this Denny’s before, and this was my first bad experience. Since the food was good, I’m giving this experience two stars.

Worst experience at a Denny’s EVER! We(7 of us) came in at 2am after a long night and wanted some fulfilling food! Lets just say that we didn’t even get all our waters… Details: The waitress came, dropped off 3 waters and«promised» she’d be back with the remaining ones. She came back(2nd time) without the waters so we ended up just ordering our food. Noticing that not all of us had our waters she again said that«I’ll take care of you and I’ll be right back with your waters.» That was the last we saw of her. We came in at 2am, waited until 3am and we got fed up and called one of the bus boys and told him to tell our waiter that we were leaving. SURE we went at 2am, SURE it was somewhat busy(the tables around us had parties of 4±- but they came after us) BUT if you’re going to say something, then do it. At least tell us that you’re busy with your other tables or at least check up on us. I’m visiting from Colorado where we have an abundant number of Denny’s and I’ve experienced slow service… but this was horrifically bad on all levels. Won’t be back at this location!

Ordered a grilled cheese sandwich during a business meeting here. Definitely not something I would order again. The omelets and salad I saw looked a bit better but then again I wasn’t here for the food and the meeting space was adequate.

It’s DENNY’S, people. It is what it is. Zero ambience. Scary patrons. Greasy vittles. Service was friendly and fast. Food was… well…Denny’s. Eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, toast. Coffee was passable. ‘Nuff said.

Review based on visit in 2009 Food was average but the restaurant was dirty with food on the walls and on the menus. The table was greasy. When I told the waitress she said«I just cleaned a couple of minutes ago» In comparison IHOP is always clean and the food good. Based on my visit in 2009 I would Denny’s one star. I came back in 2011 because of a coupon and it seemed like there was a overhaul. The place was cleaner which is why I give it 3 starts now.

EWWWW!!! THEWORSTDENNY’S EVER… First thing I noticed was the nasty stench and how humid it was. I was trying to figure where it was coming from. Then a few mins later a homeless guy walks in and sat on the outer. I smelled urine immediately and could not stand it any longer! I only ordered a banana split and pancake puppies for the night. Our waiter looked confused as I watched him prepare the ice cream. Finally, he served us the banana split on a round plate. all sloppy and GROSS! Even grosser, my pancake puppies were straight up BURNT!!! So crispy and dark, no moisture left inside. ewww yuck! This place was run by only ghetto people from the projects. no offense, and not to discriminate. the servers were all African Americans that talked very street and like theyr’e in jail.

Never, ever, ever go to this Sacto Denny’s on a late night weekend!!! It’s GHETTO, so ghetto they need private security to usher the mobs in and out of the parking lot. We tried to go in and order, sat on the counter for about 15 minutes and the poor staff was so busy and crazy that they left us sitting there so we walked out. I felt sorry for them, but I also saw one trying to hook it up with a scantly clad hood rat. Now, I know you might think I’m just hating on Denny’s, but I’ve been to late night in Hollywood, Downtown L.A., and several on the Eastside L.A. cities and this by far was the worse.

I don’t care for Denny’s in general but this was the only option I had. It was sub par as expected. Dirty menus, dirty tables, dirty flatware. Filth everywhere. Seriously, stay away!

Saturday night. 12:38am. 20 minute wait for seating and an hour wait for 9 people’s food. Messed up orders, cold food and a rude server. You damn right I didn’t leave a tip. None of us did. You can’t make sober people wait an hour for food. If you can’t handle large groups of drunk people, you shouldn’t be open 24 hours. I’ve been to a Denny’s in Richmond and this location is the worst and the most ghetto. Ay, yo, angry dude who served our food: the next time you want to give my cousin attitude for asking you politely for condiments, take a deep breath and check yourself. if you don’t like dealing with customers, DON’T WORKWITHTHEPUBLIC! I used to be a server and there’s only been 2 times in my life I didn’t leave a tip. This was the second time. I get better service from the guy at the gas station who wants to spit shine my windshield. Take notes, Denny’s employees.

I have never been so livid eating somewhere and actually stayed to eat. This happened on New Year’s Eve, which was a few months ago, so trust me it was worse than what you’re about to hear. I just can’t remember it all. First off, we get there and they have a line forming outside INTHERAIN. I think fine, it’s New year’s eve and they’re busy. that’s fine. However, after a long time of waiting, my boyfriend needs to use the bathroom. There is a security guard at the door refusing to let anyone in. EVEN to use the bathroom! What is this? They’re acting like we’re trying to sneak into some posh club in Hollywood. This is fucking Denny’s downtown with a 2 star rating. So my boyfriend practically got a bladder infection waiting to use the bathroom. Finally, we get seated. There isn’t even real silverware. it’s PLASTIC. Apparently they were busy doing all the dishes at the time, because the entire time all we could hear was clashing and clinging of dishes and silverware, which was extremely annoying to say the least. It sounded like a group of miners with pick axes in the salt mines. Food… burned. Waitress. bitchy bad attitude. and let’s just say the patrons we were amongst were less than savory. Now I remember why we stick to going to Lyon’s downtown instead. I will not be going here ever again, and neither should you!

Picture this — The clock just struck midnight on New Years and then we realized the hotel we were staying at didn’t serve room service. We used Unilocal to find ANY place that was open after midnight. I would of gone anywhere BUT Denny’s. We called everywhere, but everything was closed. I even offered to pay for a cab to take us to a Del Taco that was like 15 blocks away. No one else was going for that plan, so we headed over to Denny’s. Boy, what a bad call that was. So we are standing outside, in the rain, with other random/drunk people for a FRICKINGDENNY’S. They had a door man like trying to get into a club. Had about 10 women use the old line«I just really need to pee» and then watch them go sit down at a table. We finally get inside and we order to go. As we are waiting for our food I just kind of look around and WOW many, many, many interesting people in this place. I am using the word«interesting» very loosely and trying to be a little nice too. So after standing there for about half an hour I go to the front desk to check on our order they realize they never turned in our order. WHATTHE F!!! After a total of an hour waiting we finally get our food. At that point I wasn’t as drunk and not real happy. Even worse my gf was super drunk and she grabbed the wrong sandwich(read:my sandwich) and ate half of it before I even realized what happened. Food wasn’t good. Fries were soggy. I had a gut bomb for half a day. But besides that, HAPPYNEWYEAR!

I typically only resort to Denny’s if a) I’m desperate b) it’s 5:00 in the morning and nothing else is opened, and/or c) it’s the only thing next to the gas station during a long road trip. To my surprise, I actually enjoyed this Denny’s trip despite my fractious attitude towards the chain! Downtown Sacramento doesnt have much of a late-night/early morning selection, so opting here was our only choice. Service was quick and friendly! Food was well-prepared with a bit of presentation(something I am NOT used to when coming into a denny’s), and menu selections were easy to substitute out(i.e. instead of 2 pieces of bacon &2 pieces of sausage, they let me have 4 sausage… without a scowl or hesitated grunt) Not only was the food good, cheap, and served with a satisfactory level of customer service… BUT I WON A PRIZEINTHECLAWGAME ! This claw was actually legit, and it lets you win if you position it right. go here !

I think I found the worst Denny’s in California!!! I’ll keep this short and sweet: 1. Service is slow(She never asked if we wanted refills on our drinks, and we had to get up to the front counter to ask for our bill) 2. The people were loud. No crowd control. 3. The place was just plain dirty. Bonus(#4): There were three cops outsides the place when we got there and when we left.

The new sandwich they’ve got on the $ 4 value menu is really something special. Get this– A grilled cheese sandwich… with 4 mozzarella sticks inside it, and a side of marinara sauce for dippin’. It is just as amazing as it sounds, and it even comes with fries! For $ 4! I would seriously eat that every day if it wouldn’t kill me. Still, it’s tempting…

The last time I came here to eat was last summer and it was with my brother and his family. At first, I was nervous to come to a restaurant with him because he tends to get a lot of weird looks(tattoos ALL over the place — and I DO mean all over the place!). However, the person who waited on us was very friendly and didn’t treat my brother or anyone else differently. It actually made it a more enjoyable experience for all of us. The food was good as usual, but I compare Denny’s to IHOP just because they both serve the same style of food. But if you’re looking for somewhere with a cheapish breakfast menu, Denny’s is the place to go. I really like their French toast. It always hits the spot! This Denny’s has a more retro feel to it too, which is different than most other locations. I also like that this location is so close to Old Sac. I can eat a good meal here and then walk it off when I’m browsing the shops across the way.

I WILLNEVERCOMEHEREAGAINAND I SUGGESTYOUDON’T EITHER! i’m giving this place a one star because the people that work here are racist as fuck. so i came saying that we had too many people, eventhough there was no one else in the restaurant. The server acted hella shitty, he just threw everything on the table. i’m from the city and i don’t take kindly to that type of service, so i said something to the serve about him throwing things down on the table. we ended up getting into a big argument and he had some racial slurs. my family and i walked out this restaurant. I WILLNEVER

I have to laugh after reading the reviews for this place. Good thing I didn’t know this going in. We were hot after walking around Old Sacramento. We didn’t want to pay the food prices there so we got in the car and drove. This was the first place we came across, the parking lot was empty so we pulled in. We were seated in a back room, all alone. Would’ve been ok if our drinks were refilled. After our drinks were brought to us when our order was taken, we didn’t see our waitress until the food came out. She made a comment, «Wow, you guys were thirsty.» Since all of our glasses were empty. Um yea, its freakin hot outside! DUH! The food was okay. I ordered seasoned fries but she didnt hear me so I didnt get them. The fries sucked. A few more minutes cooking wouldve earned another star. The hubby got the giant nachos and said it was the saltiest thing he has ever eaten in his life. That’s saying A LOT! I tried it and it was yuck, the chips were stale. The AC was kicked on so high it felt like a meat locker. I really wanted to like my server but the long wait on my Ice tea refill really sucked. I was even drinking my toddlers water while she was coloring. :)

This is by far, the WORST Denny’s I’ve ever been to. We came here at about 11pm or so with a small group of friends for milkshakes. The waitress was a total biatch. «I’d like a milkshake» followed from her by «WHATYOUNOTEATIN’?» The milkshakes were runny and disgusting, every single one of them. And they came out at random times. And one of the guys in our group who just ordered a soda, it came out LAST, which logically you think would come out first since it’s easiest. So, we go up to pay, and the lady with no teeth says, «No split checks after 10pm». Alright, that’s the first time I’ve heard of that. Are you retarded? Do you want us all to book it to our cars? She totally got an attitude with us, so three of us had cash and ended up paying for everyone in our group(of 7). No tip. Avoid this Denny’s unless you feel like bitch-slapping a waitress.
