Diane at Studio 28

I have been going to Diane for years and am extremely happy with her work.
She is always up to date on the hair trends and offers great suggestions for color and cuts. That is what I like most rather than having to tell someone what to do every time.
Her execution on her cut and color is always top notch. I even had her color my hair for my wedding and had her do my hair as well as my bridesmaids’ hair.

I got my hair cut by Diane today and I absolutely love the cut and style! Diane is very personable and has a great sense of humor. I will be coming back and recommending her to friends.

I purchased a Living Social voucher for smoothing treatment with Diane. Called to confirm that she used Peter Coppola smoothing treatment. After completing treatment she charged me an extra $ 50. because my hair is long (just below shoulder length?!) I paid $ 79. for the voucher. When leaving she told me if I came back again she would charge me $ 125. for the same treatment. I’ve had this moving treatment done many times, when I washed my hair after 3 days it was no smoother than before the treatment. Emailed her pictures and received no reply. Very disappointed!

Always get compliments on my hair after seeing Diane. She’s great at what she does! I agree with Bernadette, she is great with color! I’ve been going to Diane for more than three years. She’s patient, not pushy, and definitely won’t let you leave her stall looking a mess. Even if you think you know what you want, trust her judgement! :)

I have lived in Sacramento for about 5 years and Diane is the first stylist to do a perfect cut and color job every time. If you are looking for a flawless look, she is your stylist. It doesn’t hurt she has a great personality too!

Well hello Unilocal.This is my debut as a Unilocal reviewer although I use Unilocal regularly as a consumer. Im doing this so no one else gets screwed. I guess the adage about having a bad experience and telling 10 people is right and thanks to the glory of Unilocal those 10 have become virtually infinite.
My experience with Diane starts like this… I buy a Daily Deal for a Brazilian Blowout for about $ 100 from Studio 28. I call to set up an appt and talk to DIane who explains that since the Daily Deal she has been super busy and cant fit me in for a month. I told her I understood and if she had any cancellations to think of me.
About a week later I get a call from Diane. She told me that she’d just found out she was pregnant and she could no longer due the Blowout due to health concerns with the fumes. I was disappointed but congratulated her, then she impressed and intrigued me when she offered a solution. Diane offered me a Pravanna process called Perfection that was similar to a Blowout in both process and result, but was approved for her even though she was prego.
I’d never heard of this new process, but appreciated being offered an option other than simply getting a refund. As far as not getting what was advertised, I understood the health concerns and thought «if a pregnant lady can do it, it must be healthier for me too»
I asked Diane to give me a chance to research it and call her back with a final verdict. After research I found this process though still new was seemingly very similar to the Blowout and people seemed to like it. I found generally positive reviews but still many unanswered questions. It seemed safe and the maverick in me thought it would be fun to try a new process. I did find the Pravanna process to be about 100 bucks less expensive than a Blowout.
I let Diane know I was still in for the new process. I asked her if she could through in the product (shampoo & conditioner) since this was a cheaper process than a Blowout and just a general measure of good faith since she wasn’t completely fulfilling the terms of the deal. She said she’d give them to me at her cost. I wasn’t completely satisfied but I let her know I would still be there for my appt Saturday at noon.
Now comes the part where the ONE STAR RATING comes in. Diane managed to earn herself a single lonely star without ever having touched my hair.
On Saturday morning at about 10am (only two hours before my appt) Diane txt me that she’d been thinking about our last conversation and she was not confident she could provide the exact service I was looking for. Then she says she suggest I get a refund.
WTF??? Yeah, I thought we went over the fact that she couldn’t provide me the exact service I was looking for, but I thought we’d worked that out? Now she txt me when Im already on my way to the appt. And who txt to cancel? Holy UNPROFESSIONAL Batman!!!
Since her txt was super vague I called her back. She didnt answer… not a shocker!
So I txt her back as her preferred method of communication was txt. I asked her to explain what that meant considering I was braving a terrential downpour and driving 2 hours from home to get to this appt. She said she was refusing to do my hair.
Again I say WTF???
I txt her back as I was fuming that I was already more than halfway to Sacramento and told her that she was the most unprofessional hair dresser I never met. I let her know I would be reviewing her on Unilocal.
Here’s where the plot thickens… Diane replies that she had already read my review and thats why she was refusing me service. Now seriously WTF??? I hadn’t even written a review. (yet)
I’d guess that some other pissed off would-​be new client reviewed her somewhere and she assumed it was me and cancelled on me out of spite or performance anxiety. Either way Diane cost me 50 bucks in gas, another 150 for the deal (I also bought a cut and style) and I didn’t get a Blowout or a Perfection or even a complimentary scalp massage.
Diane lacks professional maturity, follow through and customer relations skills. I would stay as far away from her and her non-​factor salon as possible.

Diane is just a doll! She styles, cuts, and colors what you want. But if you’re looking for a new look and need suggestions, Diane definitely knows what to do!

Diane is amazing! I’ve been a happy client for several years now and I always trust her with my hair when it comes to color, styling, and haircut. :)
