I’m a Sac state student from Pismo, and when I moved here I was skipping through stations and I landed on 98 Rock. I love listening to the Pound in the afternoons and like listening to RAD radio on my way to school or on my early shifts at work. When I go back home visit I’ll try to listen via website to the Pound. I’m not from here and don’t know any history about the station’s company or what it used to be. I must say like ALL hip hop stations do. 107 plays the same 3 songs over and over. Is it annoying yea, but it’s something most radio stations do nowadays.

The location of the station isn’t too far off from the Madison Ave freeway exit, but they only have 5 or 6 Visitor parking spaces! I came by to claim a prize won on the STAR106.5FM Facebook page(«Free Movie Friday» Contest) and parking was a challenge. It’s definitely a bigger station than others I’ve been to(for other contests won), such as Hot 103.5FM or AM1530KFBK studios in the Arden area. They’re also the home of 107.9 The End.

Okay, this corporation runs a good chunk of the radio stations in our area, and they fail miserably in all of them. They took over killed KWOD106.5(the only station in the area that played more cutting edge music) a few years ago, only to slightly resurrect it as 94.7, made 98Rock absolutely boring, and now they took away the local music show — which was the only show that dared to play new and exciting music and featured a DJ that actually cared about the music he played. I guess corporate radio is not about caring about the music. In fact, corporate radio is not about music at all, right?
