Face It

I am a big fan of Leah at Face It. Leah knows fine hair and loves to get creative. She’s also respectful of knowing what a person really wants — I know I’m not the wildest person, so she helps me find something that is cool for me but that I will go home later and still like.
I actually followed Leah from another salon, and recommend her to anyone who will listen. She’s bubbly, she’s fun, and she does a great job. And does it with fine, thin hair, which makes me happy.
I struggled with finding someone I was happy with — as I tell Leah, I’ve been with her the longest out of any stylist. She’s like a friend who does my hair. She also makes me feel beautiful when I’m normally not a person who ever feels beautiful. So that really is something special.
The atmosphere of the salon itself, btw, is nice. The salon itself is upstairs — the boutique downstairs.

I met Danielle, the receptionist at Face It at a restaurant and LOVED her haircut and she recommended I come to Face It and see Leah. I was able to easily schedule an appointment via Leah’s business card with her personal number — so awesome & convenient! I was super comfortable as soon as I walked upstairs to the salon (which is clean & has SUCH a great vibe) which was mostly due to the fact that Leah is so easy to talk to and instantly makes you feel at home. I hadn’t had my hair cut in like, 6 months so I was obviously due for some maintenance. Leah asked me a bunch of questions about my hair and how I like to style it and what I do on a daily basis. she then told me what she thought would work with my hair after I told her what I wanted. let’s just say I could barely wait for the finished product because I was so excited! I instantly trusted her. Bottom line, I am STOKED with the end result and felt like a brand new woman upon exiting the salon ;) I definitely recommend Leah to anyone and can’t wait for my next visit!!!
Oh ya — the scalp massage after the shampoo was amaaazing!

Love love love this hidden gem! Very impressed with the services and the professionalism of the staff and owner Cherie. Love the calm and stylish décor. She is pretty booked because of the Groupon deal so don’t try a last minute appointment… well worth the wait!

Consistency is key when it comes to great customer service and Cherie never fails. She is always supportive, informative and accommodating. I love the warm and welcome atmosphere of the boutique as well as the spa. Not to mention the complimentary beverage offered the second you walk in the door. The staff is spunky and full of personality. The variety of merchandise sold is fashion forward and adorable! I definitely recommend dropping in and checking out everything Cherie’s spa and boutique have to offer!!!

There is no customer service at this place, especially from ‘Cherie’ the owner. I traveled over 40 miles and waited 2 months for my appointment, not even a courtesy call to confirm. She simply left the shop and was unwilling to reschedule me. She claimed she was only one person and could not re-​schedule me for 3 months later not even offering to fit me in or call me if someone cancelled! I called 45 minutes before my appointment to let her know I was a few minutes late, (8 to be exact). The receptionist said no problem, come on anyway. When I arrived ‘Cherie’ had left! Who does that to a client??? Not even a phone call to me. I am appalled at this behavior and have stopped payment on my card. I wouldn’t recommend this place to even an enemy if I had one! I wasn’t spending chump change, I was spending almost $ 200 I should have been treated with a little respect and customer appreciation! What I expected would be a positive experience that I had looked forward to, turned into being a complete and utter disastrous disappointment!

I will NEVER EVER EVER buy anything for this salon.
I tried booking a massage months ago with the masseur, & she was in transition of moving/​getting into another salon. We played phone tag, & I NEVER got an appointment. When I left messages I let her know that the certificate will expire soon & when I received a voicemail later, she let me know that it was ok if it went over the 1 year mark. So I let her do her moving thing but I call today & she tells me that my certificate is INVALID. Are you KIDDING ME???
So it’s my fault that your in a transition, & don’t call me back for days & then leave me a message. Then phone tag goes on a few times & you tell me it’s fine, but NOW it’s not??? So I wasted my money. NEVER EVER will I buy a certificate for this place for myself OR ANYONE ELSE nor will I recommend this place to ANYONE.
Thanks for pocketing my money, I didn’t even get to USE.

Cherie, owner and esthetician of Face It Salon, is a magician. Before my eyes, she transformed her small
boutique day spa into a full service resort spa that may have been the highlight of my last trip to Sacramento. Most day spas claim to pamper you, but I truly felt like a king during my time at Face It.
The atmosphere was welcoming, relaxing and comfortable.
The skill and attention to detail she showed while waxing was admirable, and was evident in the finished product.
The massage was a perfect balance of relaxation and tension release.
And if she’d done my hair or makeup, I’m sure I would have looked fantastic.
Regardless, the next time I’m in town, on business or pleasure, I’ll be blocking off an afternoon for a little «me time» at Face It.

Go get your hair and makeup done by MAYA! I met Maya in December 2006 and she has been doing my hair since then! Her 1^st impression was definitely awesome. She UNDERSTOOD EVERYYYTHINNNGGGG that I wanted. I explain every single vision that I have in mind with my hair… and she always gets it to a T! She is modern, hip, cool, classy, eccentric and very diverse/​flexible with ANY style! Not only that, she can deal with my THICK hair! I have short hair, any many ppl have diff taste with short hair. but Maya makes my short hair work for me EVERY TIME! Coloring/​highlights have always been fun.
I’ve also had my makeup done by Maya! I looked so great that I went to a fashion show! hahaha =) My friends were STUNNED! Im very impressed with Maya’s work.
She is a sweetheart. and definitely has great energy, and will make you feel totally comfortable! I have moved around a few times the last couple years. and the distance does not keep me away from Maya!

Maya did mine and my lady love’s hair and both came out unbelievable. It was the first time she had did my hair so of course I was a little anxious. I gave her a picture of what I had in mind, and in a swift cut, trim and style, she totally delivered.
She’s personable and someone you just simply become fast friends with as she is such a genuine person. I’m glad to hear that she’s doing her thing in Sac!

If I could write two reviews for this place I would. Cherie is amazing and does a wonderful job on brows. She’s always bubbly, sweet and easy to talk to.
Gina is a genius. I was able to walk in and «let her have here way with me» well my hair at least. She did a wonderful job and created a great hair cut out of the little I had to work with. Thanks Gina and Cherie!
