It takes a little time your 1st visit but you should appreciate the fact that they do screen people so you can’t be a junkie and just walk in and donate. It’s very clean and comfortable and the staff is amazing! Everyone was very caring and attentive. They offered me food, water, and blankets. I’m a medical student and needed cash to pay for a shot at my school and they got me in. They really appreciate us coming in and that’s a relief! I don’t even feel this welcome at my own doctors office. Good jobs you guys keep it up and thanks again for snacks and money towards my shots :) almost forgot to mention it doesn’t hurt. A little poke and about 40 minutes of relaxation. Not bad!

I’ve been donating to Green across for almost a year on and off. They do compensate me for my time and I appreciate that. I initially started donating here because I needed extra cash and it helped a lot! I was bringing in over 200 $ a month by donating twice a week. I was helping them and they are helping me! The downside is I’ve gotten severely dehydrated and fainted on two separate occasions, but I was lucky both times I had someone with me that caught me and called 911 for me. A couple bags of fluids and I’m back to normal. To avoid that just drink plenty of fluids before and after no matter how busy you are!

The Sacramento location facility is clean and well organized with onsite parking. Payment is prompt and is administer on a Citi Bank prepaid reloadable card. That is loaded with your compensation directly after your donation is complete. You can donate 2 times a week but not on back to back days.(Contact GCAM for current payment amounts) Expect to wait up to 3 hours, only on your 1st visit as a walk in. Eat a well balanced meal prior to coming in. A basic physical examination, will be conducted by a register nurse or medical assistant, only on your 1st visit as new donor and is first come first served by number. I recommend you come in on a Monday at 7:45 am it’s usually not crowded. GCAM closes at 2:30 pm on Monday’s. You will be thoroughly asked questions about your health history practices & understanding knowledge every time you donate. Following visits should be made by appointment, wait times will be considerably less & appointment’s are given priority over walk ins. State ID& Social Security card along with current proof of address verification is needed to proceed for the 1st visit only. (Call GCAM for more information on what’s required) Upon every visit after, a receptionist will check you in, and record your weight. After that a nurse will do to a finger poke blood sample. Similar to the one, diabetics do to check their blood sugar levels. From there you meet with a receptionist in a private room, that will ask you a series of health questions. When finished, you can now donate. The actual donation time varies from person to person, individuals bodies are different, but it usually takes up to 45 mins maybe 50 to complete. Please be aware that some of the phlebotomists(people that stick you with the big needle) may be recently certified through GCAM, but may not be state licensed. If you prefer an individual with more experience that is. Do not hesitate to ask! All staff should have a visible Id with their name & title on it. For more detail information about the facility call /visit GCAM website or the Food & Drug Administration.
