I initially came here with my fiancé, based on Unilocal!reviews. Not impressed by any means! Honestly, this place is probably the worst sushi I’ve ever had! The waitress was nice, but that is about all. The tempura, wasn’t even like authentic tempera, the veggies had no batter attached, it was like the veggies were just dipped in hot oil. We were disappointed to say the least, since we live so close, we were hoping we would find a close, good, sushi joint. I guess we will have to keep looking!

RIP Giza Japanese Restaurant. I’m going to miss you. Ginza Japanese Restaurant was a local spot on Rush River that was only a few blocks from where I lived. One of only 2 good restaurants that were within walking distance. They had good food, though a little pricey and still not better then Kamon Sushi on 16th St. The Ginza Chicken Terriyaki/Tempura Boat Dinner was a personal favorite. Great tasting food and presentation. Too bad their out of business. After 23 years the owners decided to retire. I noticed the sign up today on 2÷28÷13. Just when I had almost filled 15 stamps for $ 15 off on my next visit too. Now the Greenhaven eating choices really suck. I’m gonna miss you Ginza!

I was so sad to see that Ginza closed. The sign said it was due to retirement, so that made me feel a little better. I will miss the awesome staff there(especially Mimi), the good food, and the sake bombs. THANKSFORTHEMEMORIES!

A local neighborhood spot, located in the Bel Air shopping center. I’ve been a couple of times and the service is warm and friendly yet a little slow, but the food is pretty good. The dinner boat’s are enough to share(for moderate appetites, but I would suggest getting extra miso soup and rice). I would recommend sharing the Gina Deluxe Boat: beef teriyaki, chicken teriyaki, gyoza, shrimp & veggie tempura, fruit(a melon slice &2 skinny slices of oranges), pickled cabbage, miso soup, and steamed rice. The meat has a nice grilled flavor, the rice was cooked perfectly, the tempura had a nice crunch, the miso was good and not too salty, and the gyoza was not good(soggy and bland). The sushi rolls are OK, I ordered the California Roll and it wasn’t packed full of rice, which was nice. My husband loves Spicy Tuna Rolls, and he said their roll was just OK and not spicy enough. Overall, it’s a decent place to go if we don’t feel like driving to Elk Grove or Midtown for Japanese food.

This place is alright for sushi. I use to go here with my friends and ex-boyfriend. The dishes sometimes have a little something on it, but nothing I would panic about. The sushi quality is alright. I don’t eat here as much anymore. The prices are reasonable for what they give you. Nothing is really expensive. The waitresses are nice and friendly. Once we went in a group of about ten to thirteen people. We entered and said we had a large party. The waitresses seemed a bit bothered at the number of people that we had. Maybe we should have called first but we ended up at Ginza. I’ve had better, but this place isn’t too bad.

Good, tasty food. A very friendly staff. As a rule, the temperature is kept in the low 40’s, so bring a heavy sweater or light coat. But the food is good. The big boats are very impressive. No sushi bar here, just a plain good restaurant. Closed Mondays.

I love this restaurant! The lady who runs the dinning room is wonderful. She is so nice and always genuinely happy to see you, not as a customer but as a person. She makes you feel like you are in her home. Really terrific lady! Every meal starts with tea(if you want it) followed by soup. Next comes the entrée, finishing the meal with ice cream. Come hungry and expect to be rolled out the door and back to your car. The seat belt strap will be a bit tight, so suck it in! The first time I was here I ordered #72 Unagi Don Combo which came with Lightly marinated and grilled eel over steamed rice with chicken noodle salad and California roll. I have never had so much eel on a plate. The portion size was stunning! The flavor was fantastic! The next time I went I tried the 35. Ginza Deluxe Dinner which came with A large serving of shrimp(2) and veggie tempura, chicken teriyaki, beef teriyaki ans fried gyoza. Everything was perfect! I gyoza and it is always cooked perfectly. The teryiaki sauce is lovely. The tempura is plentiful and fabulous! I have always found everything from the service to the food to be exceptional. I highly recommend Ginza to anyone who is a Japanese food lover. Check out the menu at:

GINZAGINZAGINZA. Got it? I often find myself about the Pocket Library around here or Tuesday morning, and have passed GINZA quite often. It was time to check this place out already. We came in and were seated right away. I asked for an iced lychee tea– amazing! Check out these GINZA rolls: The Riverlake– crunchy shrimp tempura, avocado, masago and sesame sauce Dragon Roll– basically a CA roll with grilled unagi on top Nigiri– chef’s choice… its bound to be great;) Next time? I’m sharing a GINZA Dinner Boat… they look so big and fun!(TWSS) *Ps. For fuck’s sake, Unilocal… will you change the name to GINZA already? Good Day! UPPITYDATE~ Thank you Unilocal!(I TOLD you: P)

Yeah, I’m not sure why this place is listed at Regent when it is actually Ginza but whatever. The BF and I went here for lunch on Friday. We were the only people in the restaurant. We ordered sashimi, the Ginza roll, and a 2 item bento box. He asked for tuna and salmon sashimi and she only gave him tuna. When he pointed out the mistake, the waitress didn’t offer to fix it. All she said was, don’t worry, the tuna is fresh. I thought that was odd, especially since the tuna wasn’t all that fresh. My sushi was good and the bento box was pretty standard. Aside from the sashimi issue, the service was good but I would expect that since we were her only customers. We’ll probably end up back here since it is the closest sushi to our house but I certainly wouldn’t tell anyone to make a special trip out here to try it.

When I finished my food, the waitress said to me(as she cleaned off my table) «Wow, you did pretty well!» I replied, «I was pretty hungry!» Knowing how the japanese view it as good courtesy to clean off all the food on your plate, I try to do this every time I go out to eat. Plus, its good not be wasteful in general. However, she wasn’t Japanese, she was Chinese, as most of the employees here seem to be. But the boss is a native Japanese, who speaks Chinese too! And — YES! This restaurant is really authentic, and it really surprised me! I walk in… and instantly I hear Japanese music playing, I am immediately greeted by a smiling waiter and she sits me down, I look around and see Japanese décor all over the restaurant, it looks and feels totally Japanese, but I am skeptical… But I ordered the teriyaki boat dinner for about $ 12 bucks. At first, I figured that’s a little pricey,(and it is) however, they give you a LOT of food for that price, so it was worth it. The teriyaki chicken and beef that came in it was quite delicious, the tempura was exquisite, and the California roles were prepared quite nicely too. Then a little later, I see the boss come out from the back and shout«arigatou gozaimashita!» to some of the leaving customers. I also got a chance to briefly speak to her in Japanese myself. It was awesome! My only complaint(yes I do have ONE lol) is that the rice was a tad on the overcooked side. But still, by comparison to –some– restaurants I’ve been to, this is merely a minor offense… not enough of a reason for me to take away a star. And chances are, the rice would be better next time around. It would be nice if they had added sesame seeds to the chicken though. All-in-all great place to eat.

Came here last night and was very disappointed. Wasn’t with folks that eat raw stuff, so I can’t say anything about the quality of the fish, although that would have been my preference. CONS: The gyoza was overly oily and did not come with vinegar dipping sauce. Texture of the meat filling was strange and not appealing. Salad dressing had no flavor whatsoever. Teriyaki sauce was flavorless other than being overly sweet. Some of the veggies in the tempura were flavorless, particularly the zucchini. Tempura batter WAS okay. I’ve had a lot worse. Server was overworked, and it showed in her attitude. Seemed like each person had to order their own tea. Not sure if there was an extra charge, but I’m used to going to Japanese restaurants where they just bring a pot of hot tea for everyone to share. PROS: Seemed clean enough. CA roll looked more attractive and larger than the same item at many other places. It seemed to be missing the nasty mayo that so many of these places sneak in. Taste was okay. The coffee ice cream(other flavors available) included as part of our bento box dinner was really good. The ingredients exceeded those of your typical coffee ice cream. It had some kind of crunch to it, and the embedded chocolate pieces were a nice touch without being overwhelming. They were able to accommodate our large party with kids on a Saturday night(not sure if we had reservations or not). Plenty of parking as well.

I usually go here for lunch because i work near by it. This place is in a neighborhood area, pretty small, only has 1 person serving you during lunch. She takes the order and brings it out. There is 1 person in the kitchen as i can see. The place is pretty clean. I usually eat the lunch combo. It’s around 7 dollars. You get to choose 2 different items and it comes with rice and a cabbage salad. I usually go with the chicken katsu and a chicken salad. The chicken katsu has terriyaki sauce over it, it is fairly crispy. The salad is delicious with their sauce and has some noodles in it. All in all this place isnt bad and but it isnt a place where you must go. I have never been there for dinner so that is my lunch experience

I have been going here for over 15 years. I always get the ‘Ginza Boat Special’ it’s a lot of food for the money. It includes soup, salad, the main entrée and ice cream for dessert. It’s clean and easy to get in and out in a hour. I drive all the way from downtown to eat here.

This is a Japanese style restaurant that I always look forward to going to! I used to go more frequently when I worked in the same shopping center, but since I’ve changed jobs, I can’t go as often & miss the convenience. I find their food quite appetizing. I especially enjoy the vegetable tempura and their house specialty of sesame chicken. My boyfriend often gets one of the many offered sushi boats. You get ~4−5 courses of food during your meal that can crowd the table but that’s alright by me! The food is always good & reasonably priced for this nicely maintained & decorated eatery. The staff are friendly & attentive. What more could you want? Nice place to relax & enjoy!(Good Saki too)!

Ginza is in the Bel Air shopping center on the corner of Rush River and Windbridge. next to the yogurt shop. It’s small and quaint. Super nice staff. I like how some of their sushi rolls have a full and half order option. I went for lunch and it was just me in there. My server brought a bit of pickled salad out with the rest of the tableware. I ordered Tonkatsu($ 7.50) and it came with Miso soup. The entrée was SEVERAL pork cutlets with sauce already drizzled on, a portion of rice, and a salad with a couple slices of fruit. It was okay. The cutlets were very thin. I don’t know if I smelled dish soap on my dishes or if it was flowing out from the kitchen but I would definitely catch some scent. It’s a nice little place. Clean. The food’s okay. Decent prices. Everyone’s nice. It suits a shopping plaza.
