” watched the security guard torment a ticketed passenger because it amused him. The guy had been angry because he had to print his e-​ticket before the security guard would let him use the restroom. Then the security guard blocked his path, crumpled the ticket that he’d printed, pretended to wand him while waving other passengers through, taunted him, assaulted him by shoving him, would not let him through to use the restroom for over ten minutes, threatened to attack him when he got off work, and continued to taunt him while the guy tried to say goodbye to his brother. The security guard’s supervisor was asked to help, and did nothing.“
I was getting off my bus as this was happening. The security guard seemed to be thoroughly enjoying tormenting the customer. If I had any idea what had taken place before I got there I definitely would have done something.
Wanding him was absurd because when I came back to the station to leave Sacramento, no one was at the gate to wand me or make sure I had a ticket. Eventually a woman came around and asked to see everyone’s tickets, and asked if we had any drugs alcohol or weapons on us. I said yes I have a pocket knife and she made it seem as if she was doing me a favor by allowing me to keep it in my carry on. To enter the building I had to walk past a group of men who were obviously at least trying to seem like they were gang affiliated. And you want to tell me I can’t carry a knife that complies with California state law?

Absolutely disgusting. Security guard lets homeless sleep anywhere in the terminal. Station was filthy including the restrooms. The odor was undescribable! Hypo needles all over the grounds outside. I hate public transportation and this is exactly why. It may be a cheap transportation alternative but… Driver made a few risky moves on the road, not worth risking your life or sanity to ride Greyhound. Never again!

I have nothing to complain about, the staff was. Very friendly and helpful, the bus was right on time, it was clean and all went well. I heard lots of scary or annoying stuff about Greyhound busses & stations, but this was absolutely fine! Cheap, convenient travel.

Sacramento Greyhound, elated that people were on the ball there and I got right on bus had a good comfy seat with plenty of room and outlets. I would suggest that an air freshener of some sort, rather strong would be a necessity. It smelled really bad like urine, ect… and for that reason alone I wouldn’t want to ride again. I’m giving you a 4 star because you deserve it. I hope you can solve the potty problem.

Waited TWO HOURS FOR OUR BUS! Everyone who worked there was rude and very unorganized. Said it would only take «10 minutes» but ended up taking 2 hours?

This has got to be without a doubt the worst way to travel and i would avoid going Greyhound anytime. The staff are extremely rude and thats only if ur lucky enough to find someone who can help. Not to mention how disgusting and filthy it is at any of the bus stations and all the actual buses. Ive never been in a bathroom so covered in filth ever that was worse then the bathrooms at Greyhound. I wont even get near the toilets or sinks. Its that bad, yes! They were no help on the phone either when i tried to call and make changes to my reservation. They basically said that i would not be able to change my times and if i did, there would be a $ 20 fee for the change. Oh and no refunds. For no more then $ 10 bucks more, i could take a much more pleasant and comfortable ride with Amtrak and i recommend others do to. You’ll be so glad u did.

Come early that way you will have better seating choices. Unless sitting by the bathroom is your thing. Although this isn’t my preferred method of transportation, it was however very cheap, especially for a round trip ticket to Reno was under $ 30.00 since we booked early.
You do get to see all walks of life in there. But an awesome suggestion is to don’t leave your bags, take them with you if to you can.

Nothing scary for me
I woke up feeling like i want to be in the city, so here i booked my last min trip. The reason why i booked it here is because megabus only had the 6am bus to SF and i wasn’t going to wake up for that. i need my beauty sleep! So i went on waderu and saw they have a 11:30am bus scheld, so i give it a shot. I was excited to go into the city again and just explore as a food critic with foodtography kind of mind. Also more Unilocal reviews yay! Anyways i really don’t like this location because its just too far away from downtown. i love the old location which it is more accessible with RT bus.

They were 17 mins late before we departed, which is a good and bad thing, because i was in a hurry to get here from RT plus über, i got there at 11:25am, if they left at 11:30am, i might not have made it.
Express trip with no layovers and only stop at oakland
The duration from SAC to SF was about 2 hrs with one stop in Oakland

Seats are improved from what i remembered, as well outlets in random rows or every other rows, and wifi in the bus
I think mega bus seats are a bit more comfy than greyhound bus seats
The bus had a clean refreshing smell

The bus seats have privacy meaning people can’t see behind you on your phone or picking your nose or whatever lol

What a joke. My greyhound experience was horrible. I purchased a bus ticket three weeks in advance thinking I would have a seat on the bus but no such luck. The bus driver stopped me in line and told me there were no more spots. He didn’t even apologize. This company oversold their bus and didn’t even have the decency to offer me a refund or simply apologize for the terrible customer service. I could have thrown a fit on site I suppose, but instead I will never be purchasing a ticket for a bus ride from greyhound again and I will be contacting customer service about there inability to sell the correct number of tickets for a bus. I mean how hard is it? Arnt there the same number of seats on each of these sorry excuses for transportation vehicles? Like I stated before this company is a joke do not give them your money because you will probably never leave your starting location.

Let’s face it. Your Greyhound expectations probably aren’t too high. To be honest, you get what you pay for.
This place is a little tricky to find, it’s not the cleanest place in the world, and no one seems to want to be there. However, the people watching is truly fantastic. It’s not as good as Wal-​mart, but there are still plenty of characters.
I was really disappointed with two of the people at customer service. They offered me minimal help. A third guy walked out and was very helpful, however. I went in on a Thursday evening to pick up my boarding tickets and luggage tags. There weren’t too many people there, so the guy helped me use the kiosk. Getting boarding tickets is easy, but getting luggage tags is hard when you won’t bring in your luggage until the following day since the bags need to be weighed to issue tags. The guy told me to place the trash can on the scale and use that weight. Sounds good to me.
The driver was good. I sat up front and we chatted whenever we stopped.
The drive wasn’t bad at all. The seats were comfortable and we got to our destination at the expected time.

This was quite possibly the worst traveling experience I have ever had. The station we pulled up to to drop me off at was ok, but there was all kind of random people around that weren’t even there for the bus. I went inside for my bus and the security guy was super nice, but that’s about it. Nobody could really tell me where I needed to line up for my bus. The bus was really old and my outlets were not operating at my seat. The bus driver was announcing everything in Spanish unless it was a big station stop, so I hardly knew what was going on. He also made these ridiculous leaps through traffic that did not make me feel safe whatsoever. I could not wait to get off of that bus and be in Fresno because it was seriously awful. I have no desire to ever ride with greyhound again.

Station is much cleaner than I remember taking it as a teenager. They were very kind to people in the middle of the night who might not actually be using Greyhound services. I took a bus from San Francisco to Sacramento. Safe, clean, friendly service. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Bus has no wifi, no power outlets. Will go with Megabus or Bolt instead.

From the beginning of my trip the bus was delayed 15−20min due to the lack of oversight, a person that had not purchased a ticket managed to get on the bus and was inconvenienced by being asked to search for my receipt which was tucked away in my bag.
Finally we departed the station and ran into mild traffic and the driver decided to take unknown back-​roads to «avoid» traffic. This seemed to make matters worst because it had appeared it was just a small traffic congestion area. When we finally got back on the freeway, there was a problem with the tire or some other mechanical defect which rendered the bus inoperable. A trip that that was suppose to be two hours ended up being just about 5 hours.
ALSO, the refund process is a nightmare. You have to fill out a form and submit it via mail with your ticket/​receipt! Try using the MegaBus instead for cheaper rates!

I was supposed to take a short trip to Las Vegas last September and my car was having transition issues. Instead of booking a flight and spending $ 500 for short notice, I decided to go greyhound. The whole ticket was like $ 80 so I was thinking it would be such an amazing deal and I could take a nap on the greyhound.
After purchasing the ticket, I googled the location so I could drive myself to the buss station. They failed to mention that I would be at the Richards Blvd location until after I had bought a non refundable ticket. I had originally thought that I could take the light rail to the old station down town which was located by at Amtrak.
After figuring out that this was not the case, I wondered if there would be parking and I discovered that I would have to take a cab. So I jumped into a cab and took it to the buss station early because I did not want to miss my buss.
Upon arrival, I realized what a mistake I had made. I had never been out to that part of town and well, lets just say that this is the area where every low life hangs out. I checked in and the place smelled like urine. There were bums camped out in the buss station for the night and security was tending to a lady that was trying to get away from what I am assuming was a domestic violence situation.
I took a seat in the most quiet clean looking corner of the buss station that I could find with my bag. While I was sitting there a guy came up to me and asked me if I wanted to go back to his car and smoke crystal meth with him. Now this one of the most disgusting habits you can have and I defiantly would never touch anything like that. I quickly grabbed security and they asked him to leave the building.
My trip was a total of 16 hours. From what I am hearing that wasn’t bad timing considering the fact that some people said they had been on the buss for either 3 and 5 days. We stopped in every city. I mean every city along the way and I changed busses 4 times. Buy the time I got to Vegas, I was super tired and went ahead and spent the extra money to fly back for the return home.
Greyhound is one experience that I am hopping to never be foolish enough to book again. I do not mind spending the extra money to just book a flight or rent a car if I want to get to Vegas from now on.

This is a pretty nice bus station. The patrons no matter what station hasn’t changed. They are always interesting people to say the least. There is a gate that closes off the pathway to the back where the buses are. This station had a little café and sitting area to eat. There is a nice waiting area as well.
We were there to pick up my packages that I shipped using busfrieghter/​greyhound express. Both times we asked the clerk for pick up and they brought the boxes out to us on a hand cart. We loaded up took back the carts and then we were off.
Great way to ship items long distance but make sure you pack it the best and safest way you can. I did have some things that were broken but nothing major that can’t be replaced. Definitely follow up with busfrieghter in order to make a claim.

I’ve rode on greyhound as a child and the bus ride itself is fine, nothing special. Gets you from point A to point B.
GPX station is clean, empty, some vending machines plenty of seats and a couple tv’s. You don’t feel too comfortable here. Also there’s a cop station next door,
which makes me feel mixed emotions about feeling safe or if it’s there for a reason.
The waiting area for pick up is super small compared to the area where you are allowed in after you purchased a ticket. There’s no schedule that you can look for while picking someone up.
The bus itself is fine but the bus station itself makes you think twice about purchasing tickets here. I personally would still take greyhound, only because I’ve been taking it since I was young.

Place has a very tiny station, with very limited parking. This place does include a tiny cafeteria. If you are planning on just waiting to pick someone up, don’t plan on going into the loading area, only passengers with tickets are able to go in.
The place has a tiny stench smell to it, but other than that it’s an okay place.

I have been here all of 20 min… From precious reviews I disagree about this place.
It seems nice, besides the fact some of the stalls in the women’s bathroom had broken locks and not all soap fillers were filled, the deli guy was help with my sandwich purchase an offered me water to fill up my water bottle he noticed I had, just out of courtesy. Hopefully the bus comes on time for my final destination!

The station itself is all right, as someone else mentioned it’s near a po-​po station, and it’s one of the only ones with hot food. Plus it’s a nice mid-​trip piss/​snack/​smoke/​whatevs break on the 5 hours between SF/​Oak and Reno for half an hour.
I dread it though because it’s a confluence where northbound, southbound and the east-​west buses all meet and connect, so if you were enjoying sleeping in that cushy 2 seats to yourself, once you hit Sac the bus will be bombed up with heads transferring and every seat full. 2+ hours of discomfort ahoy.
After dark the Sac-​Reno route also seems to be the Pamp and Prossitoot Express for young urban entrepreneurs working out of Vallejo and Stockton (they get rides from Sac). And I’m not stereotyping or being racist, ride a nighttime bus on this route and sit near the back, you’ll inevitably be near someone loud and open as hell about their Pimp Game. The little wannabe pimps brag about stacking thousands per week from their hos working Reno so I dunno why they’re taking the bus, unless they have revoked licenses or just want to travel high as hell. As far as the hos go I can’t say I’ve ever elsewhere heard the words «daddee» and «bottom bitch» used so commonly and non-​ironically in phone conversations.
