Hanson McClain Advisors

My wife and I gave them $ 1,000,000 to invest for retirement. We told them they could make the investment decisions but we did not want them to sell 10 of the stocks that we transferred. It took them 60 days to sell 5 of the 10 we asked (in writing) for them not to sell. They then made us «whole» and 30 days after sold the same five stocks again! Our investment adviser apologized for the multiple human errors and we left Hanson McClain Advisers for another broker. What we very disappointing was never hearing from Hanson or McClain. Guess our $ 1 million was not important to them. I would not recommend this firm and don’t believe their advertisements. They let us walk without a word.

Top notch company! I have worked with Hanson McClain for about 15 years. They have consistently impressed me with outstanding customer service, detailed financial information and fees similar to most other companies. I have met several of their certified financial planners and been very impressed with their knowledge and ability to explain things in laymen terms. Hanson and McClain actually work there still and you’ll meet them too. They are real people! Hanson McClain make investing understandable! I also love their radio show!

I retired in 2008 and have been very happy with Hanson McClain Advisors. They have been very responsive to my needs and I would and have recommended them to other retirees. I feel very comfortable leaving my life savings in their hands.

Before investing with HM, I did quite a bit of research on financial advisor firms. I was previously with ML and Wells Fargo and although I’m generally pleased with my results, most of it was due to my (lucky) investment strategy since I received little to no personal consulting from either. Still with many years to go to retirement and not wanting to push my «luck», I wanted a firm with a more personal approach and an advisor who would understand ME and my family’s needs and goals. Needless to say, my research and the numerous recommendations I received paid off and I couldn’t be happier with HM. Although I know there are no guarantees to investing, the simple fact that they listen and consult to provide me with the options that I eventually decide upon is very informative and reassuring. I would recommend HM to anyone.

I’ve been with Hanson McClain Advisors for 20 years. They have helped me through high income years, divorce, downsizing, job seeking, low wages, retirement, moving out of state, and trustee responsibilities for family. I’m living my dreams and know in large part that is because of the level of service and quality of guidance delivered from HM. What more could you want?

After my wife’s intial move to H_​M, I too rolled my retirement account into
2010, Now, July, 2013, we continue to be more than satisfied. Another reviewer intimated that my origianal review had been a cut and past job. Had this person checked, he would have found that I’ve been Unilocaling as a Unilocal Elite for over 5 years and in no way would that have ever happened. We have other choices and choose to drive the 65 miles to H-​M for their excelllent services. We have always had the same adviser, meets with us on a regular basis, and we couldn’t be happier.

Have had my money with H.M. For several years now. Even through tough economic times my advisor has been very helpful in my investment direction and has not only been responsive to my needs but has on numerous occasions has been proactive in contacting me to advise me of changes in my investments that warrant further consideration. Throughout the years I have had the pleasure of meeting a number of the H.M. Employees and the principals, in my opinion they are all driven to provide their clients with excellent client services and investment growth. I have recommended them to my familyTwo thumbs up!

Our family worked with Hanson McClain for several years and they handled multiple retirement accounts as well as a significant portion of our non-​retirement money. We found that while their front desk staff and the assistants in the office were kind and attentive, the advisers and those who make the investment decisions lacked follow through and discipline. Further, they were unapologetic about oversights and mistakes made during the time we did business together. Our family strongly recommends not trusting this company to help make decisions with your hard-​earned money.

Thank you for your cut and paste summary of the Hanson McClain business. I am providing my input based on my interactions. I again thank you for your comment but i stand by my review of this investment firm and strongly advise others to thoroughly research all the investment options that may be available to them. I would also like to inform the other Unilocal user that Hanson McClain had attempted to have my review removed from the Unilocal service. I believe it is clear as to why you would do that but i ask that you take the time to actually address my concerns I raised and not simply dismiss them as inappropriate. I believe a honest assessment of a business is exactly what Unilocal followers are looking for.

We had Hanson and McClain for about 8 years for our retirement accounts. Recently they redesigned the way they do business. My husband had about a 100,000 dollar inheritance that was with another financial advisor which we wanted to talk to our financial advisor about moving to Hanson McClain. After several months of unanswered emails and promises of calls to be returned we gave up and changed to the other company. I dont believe they are interested in the average investor anymore.
