Back in the day I used to paint all the time, but life and such had kept me away. I tried getting back into it on my own, but my failed attempts were atrociously painful on the eyes, and my parents’ dogs could have done better. Their demonstration style rocks and very easy to follow. The artist breaks down a completed painting step by step and shows you how to layer your color, blend, create texture, etc. Kelly is a super fun hostess, makes sure you’re all set up with art supplies, and keeps the evening running smoothly with plenty of time to complete your painting whether you’re a little more Dali, a little more O’Keefe, or somewhere in the middle. What’s better than taking home your piece and showing it off on your living room wall? Or in my case, some are in the spare room and a few dangle along the dark hallway :-P

Had a blast painting during a bachelorette weekend for my cousin. Kelly was very helpful and gave us great tips and feedback about our artwork. Will be coming back again for a Van Gogh party!

I really love Happy Hour Paints. Great way to enjoy a few hours with friends. I’m no artists, the the instructor made it so easy. I’m defiantly going again!

This place is the BEST! Tonight was my second time; both experiences have been wonderful. The owner is great; it’s an awesome small family business. It’s a great date night or fun night with friends. Tonight we were in our own little side room, which was great, and we were way behind on the painting so the owner let us finish for an extra 45 minutes after the designated end time. Everything is provided, the artists are great, the groups aren’t too big, and it’s just an overall wonderful experience!

This was super fun & although my painting looks a lot better from 50 feet away, its definitely going up on my wall! Our session ran half an hour late, but I had no problem at all hanging out at Red Rabbit. Great they have their events at local restaurants so you can check them out too.
Definitely going to do this again in the future! Make sure you stalk their calender and sign up for the painting you want fast! ~ the classes can fill up pretty quickly.

I had so much fun at this event. I took advantage of a living social offer I saw for happy hour paints. It took a while for me to find a painting I actually liked and one that I could go to because of my schedule but I was finally able to make it. Registration was easy, all I had to do was fill in my code online and I was good to go.
I went to the restaurant vallejo’s taqueria and painted a walk in the woods. The instructor was great and even dealt with me since I was falling behind and pretty slow, luckily for me I was able to finish within the 2 hour time frame. It was nice since there was a private room in the back so our painting class was in there. The waitress came around and got our drinks which I just got a lemonade. I wanted to get food but I have no idea how I would have been able to eat and paint at the same time. There was an employee of happy hour paints constantly walking around to see if we needed more paints etc. Overall a really good experience and it was a lot of fun. I hope to do another one of these when I find another deal on it and find a painting that I like.

I attended Happy Hour Paints for the first time on August 19 at Kupros Bistro. The artist’s name was Derreck and it was his first night. He did an amazing job. Great personality and pointers. He is a natural artist and teacher and made everyone really comfortable and free to express themselves. It was also my first time at Kupros and their food was pretty good. I liked their garlic fries and grilled cheese with tomato soup. Thank you for the fun night. I’m looking forward to my next night with Happy Hour Paints.

The first Happy Hour Paints event I attended, I used a Livingsocial voucher ($ 20 for a $ 40 class). It was easy to e-​mail them to say which class I wanted to use the coupon for (instead of registering online as you would normally for full-​price). The painting we did was called «City Street» and led by artist Stephanie, and was held at the 1801 L Lofts. That particular event fell on Second Saturday and for some reason did not include alcoholic beverages (but they did provide snacks and sodas along with the art materials — aprons, easels, canvas, brushes, acrylic paints). In any case, the two hours flew by and it was really fun! I can’t believe they only have 4 or 5 people running the whole operation! I took my painting home and worked on it some more for «touch-​ups» but that’s just me being OCD and not being able to shut off my creative switch. In any case, I’ve signed up again for another class, this time «Tower Bridge at Dawn» led by artist Theo at Coyote Tap House on ⁵⁄₉. Was able to use a 10% off discount code (WISH) that also donated some proceeds to Make-​A-​Wish! Coincidentally, there is another Livingsocial deal on right now (back by popular demand) for the $ 20 for a 2-​hour class with cocktail for an individual, or $ 199 (normally $ 400) for a group of ten people.

My girlfriend and I purchased a groupon. It’s a really fun experience and I love the way my painting turned out. The two hour class felt very rushed. The instructor had to go so fast and everyone kept asking her to go back a few steps because non of us could keep up. I would recommend adding 30 minutes to certain paintings. Staff was great!

My family has attended two Happy Hour Paints events. The first was at a downtown restaurant where we all painted a John Lennon portrait. The second time was a private party we arranged. What a great time! We had a wide range of painting experience (zero to quite good) and we all had a very good time.

When this deal popped up on groupon I was beyond excited. As soon as time allowed I scheduled an appointment. Unfortunately on the day of my appointment I was terribly sick. I called to ask if I could reschedule & the women said sure as long as you pay the cancellation fee which is the price difference between the groupon deal & there actual price. I didn’t go and spread my germs but maybe I should have.
