My 2004 Lexus GS 300 was due for a major maintenance check. The 120,000 mile service. I usually bring my vehicles to their particular dealership for maintenance. After getting the quote from Lexus, I chose to look elsewhere as the price was pretty high. I found JC Auto on Unilocal and gave them a call. Jason gave me a quote of HALF what the dealer wanted.
I had the list of work to be done from Lexus when I dropped the car off with Jason. His list was identical. I got the car to him a little later in the day so I fully expected it to spend the night. He called before he closed and gave me an update, recommending a couple fixes, one being a radiator cap.
When I went to pick it up, Jason had given me a $ 20 discount for the radiator cap, to keep it even with his original quote. I don’t think many dealerships would do that. All in all, a great experience with JC Auto. I highly recommend Jason and will take my car back in the future.

Long overdue review. I’ve been here three times including today. Jason is the nicest and most honest mechanic I know. I had a 1995 Toyota Camry that would smoke every time I started my engine so the first time I took it in, he couldn’t find out what was wrong cause it wasn’t smoking at that time and also because it was winter when I took it in so it just seemed like it was condensation. He told me to come in during summer so he can get a better look at the smoking. Couple months later, I took it back in and he told me I had a leak in the head gasket, also I had some idling problems and also that my suspension is bad and that it would be better to sell the car cause it would cost more to fix than the value of the car. All of this I believed because my car would jump everywhere whenever I would go over bumpy roads and I would also have to gas to keep my car from turning off when I would turn the key. I recently just got another car (a used Toyota Corolla) and brought it into JC because my trac/​abs/​vsc and brake lights were on due to the work of Elk Grove Toyota. I will never go anywhere else no matter how many coupons shops throw at me (I like to save). JC has a loyal customer here!

I found JC Auto on Unilocal and have been incredibly impressed with their service. I initially went for their consistent, quick, and very affordable oil changes, and today I found out they’re also great at bigger fixes as well.
Last night my car died in Folsom, and I had AAA tow to JC Auto. The shop had closed at that point (10pm) so I left my car out front, and they diagnosed the problem within an hour of opening this morning. They replaced my starter within 4 hours at a very reasonable rate for parts + labor. I couldn’t have asked for a better or quicker mechanic experience!
I travel a lot for work, and often only have 1 – 2 days where I can have my car serviced. Jason and his team have always made it happen and done a great job. Absolutely recommend.

Had a water pump failure while visiting Sacramento for two days. Needed to leave town the next day so it had to be done ASAP. Called these guys and they said bring it on in. A few hours later, it was all done. Price was less than a quote I had gotten from another place that couldn’t even do it that day anyway. A+

Great experience. Broke down on the highway, towed it to JC after checking Unilocal and seeing good reviews. Jason was super friendly, parked my truck in the shop, and called the next business day w a diagnosis and estimate. Way cheaper than I expected. Fixed it and was out the door at the estimated price 4 hours later.
These guys just locked in a customer.

Jason @ JC Auto Service is by far the best mechanic I’ve ever been to. He is so honest and friendly, accommodating and very good at what he does. He always has my work done on the same day and is reasonably priced. It’s nice to have a mechanic I can trust.
A friend of mine recommended Jason to me and I’ve been coming here ever since. I refer everyone to him. He will take care of you!

They do a great job and priced very low. Many stars for that. Only took off one star because they pushed my pick up date back a couple days. Little inconvenient but worth it for the price. Would bring my car back there. To be clear they did a lot of work on my SUV.

I had a very good experience here. I think these guys are honest — and that is what will get my return business in the auto repair game.

This place is insanely good. Like, the best mechanic I have ever dealt with in my entire life. I’ve lived all over the country, and out of all the states I’ve lived in, this place is the most reasonably priced.
The mechanic I spoke with — who I believe is Jason — was extremely friendly and kind. I mean one of the nicest people I’ve ever met in my entire life, regardless of profession.
I’ll admit that I was a little bit wary given how the shop looks; it looks more like a chop shop than a regular auto repair location. However, it’s very easy to tell that the building doesn’t look more fancy because the owner is trying his best to give you the lowest price possible. He truly is passing on the savings to you.
The only tiny complaint I have is that there is a dip when driving your car into the workshop itself, which in my case, caused my front bumper to scratch the ground. But whatever. I’m still going to come here for the foreseeable future, for any and all car issues I have.
If ever there was a local business that deserved your patronage, it is JC Auto Service.

Brought my car back here yesterday to get the much-​needed work done a month later. Jason remembered exactly what was wrong with it and got it all fixed up. My car is like new again a few hours later, and I cannot thank JC enough :). I wish I found this place sooner, but I’m so glad the hunt for a good mechanic is finally over!

I went here for a brake job and it was done the same day. I appreciate that they provided me with a lift back home and was ok that I brought my own pads and rotors for them to install.
These guys are honest mechanics and that’s hard to say now a days.

I was looking for an auto shop downtown with a good reputation. Jumped onto Unilocal and found these guys. I stopped by yesterday and they were busy. I was told to come back tomorrow (today) for an oil change. They were friendly with me upon arrival and informative. $ 27.78 for an oil change. Though they took longer than 30 minutes, I was still impressed. Mainly due to their friendliness and customer service. A local business and now I see why they have such a good rating on Unilocal.Thank you so much-I’ll be back!

I drive a 2002 Toyota Camry with manual transmission and was hearing a loud rattling when I release the clutch in a certain way or was coasting. I just moved to Sacramento less than three weeks ago. Jason was incredibly friendly, courteous, and professional, and he didn’t charge for the simple fix of tightening a bolt on my muffler. I would recommend him to anyone!!! Amazing service and very efficient.

I drive a 2003 Infiniti G35 Coupe, and as someone who loves his car (probably too much), I was really worried about finding a quality mechanic in the Sacramento area. When I needed an oil change and new brakes, I was considering just taking my car down to my old mechanic 370 miles away in Los Angeles; yes I am just that crazy about my car. However as it turns out, I was worried for nothing.
I saw the great reviews on Unilocal and the garage is just around the corner from me, so I decided albeit apprehensively to give JC Auto a try. The result is that I could not be happier. The owner Jason is a super friendly guy, and the work he does is phenomenal. I gave him very specific directions on the grade of oil and type of brakes that I wanted, and he was very knowledgeable about everything I discussed with him. Not only that, he gave me a ride to and from work, and he stayed til 7PM (garage was supposed to close at 5:30) to get my car ready the same day. To top it all off, the prices were so low I almost felt bad for paying him so little for the work (and overtime) he did.
I cannot recommend this place enough. If you care about your car (baby) like I do, give this place a try!

Jason has great customer service! I brought my car in first thing Saturday morning and he told me my crank shaft sensor was broken and needed to be replaced. He later found out he didn’t have the right tool to remove it and told me that my car wouldn’t be done until Monday, which was fine, but he asked me if I had another car to drive to work since I asked him if I could pick up my car after I got off work. I told him no, that I was going to rent a car. When he heard this, he sounded very concerned and said he would try to borrow the tool from somewhere else. He’s only supposed to stay open on Saturdays until 2:30, but he ended up staying until after 5 to fix my car so I wouldn’t have to rent one!
I came back another time to get my oil changed and he did an assessment on my car for free and told me I needed to get my tires changed and that I needed a new alignment as well. He actually told me to go to Costco to get my tires and alignment rather than trying to get me to use his place!
I would highly recommend Jason! He’s very honest and friendly. I’ve never had a mechanic go so above and beyond for a customer!

My bearings were SHOT. Last time I had them done, it cost me nearly double what they charged & my car rides so smooth now. I took it on my lunch & it was done by the time they closed.

Brought my Lexus in for a major service. Prior to calling Jason, I called Lexus of Sacramento and Elk Grove Toyota to get a quote. When all is said and done, Jason’s final price was 35% less than the other quotes. Jason even told me to save money and order some of the parts online and he would charge only for the labor. This place is no frills, no shuttle service, no coffee, ect. What you get is a honest mechanic and huge savings.

I have brought my car to this shop twice now and I am very impressed. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful.
The first time I went in was to fix up my car for smog. I think it cost about $ 80 for the estimate. I needed an o2 sensor replaced. It was done within a day or a day an a half of me dropping my car off and altogether cost me around $ 270.
The second time I brought my car in was for an oil leak. He let me know how expensive the part would be from a dealer, but he suggested that I get my part used from a scrap yard for much cheaper. I picked up the part from the scrap yard, went to drop my car off (he stayed at the shop late for me), and he told me he called his technician back in to fix I that night. I got my car back an hour and a half later, only having to pay around $ 70 for it to be fixed.
That is what I call amazing service. He went out of his way for the customer and I really appreciate it. As far as I can tell, this is my mechanic from now on. I highly suggest trusting this shop with your car. They will take care of you.

Being a car guy, I think I take reviews of mechanics the most seriously out of all my reviews. Jason at JC is the model for a good mechanic, both on the side of quality of work, and the manner in which he conducts his business. The prices for the services I’ve had done here were all fair and affordable, and Jason never tried to push any additional services to me or offer to repair anything that wasn’t broken.
While I haven’t had my personal car serviced here (I do most the work myself), I’ve taken my mother’s car, father’s car, and brother’s car all here for service in the past. One thing I will note is that all of the cars I’ve had worked on here are average, Japanese commuter cars, and nothing of a «specialty» nature, so I can’t comment on that. Actually, now that I think of it, I think my mother once took my car in to JC for an oil and spark plug change.
JC Auto Service offers a wide range of services here, the most useful being general service like brakes and oil changes, and laser alignment. The equipment for the alignment machine is a top-​end Hunter machine, which is pretty much THE standard for general auto service, so that’s a huge plus.
While I haven’t had any more advanced work done here, like engine rebuilds or transmission service, I would have confidence that the mechanics here would do a fine job as well.

Of course it had to happen that way. I had reached that stage in life. My trusty «beater» Corolla needed more than simply an oil change and a car wash. It needed a catalytic converter, an alignment, a serpentine belt, a brake check, renewal on life, and so on.
Being the fantastic car owner I am, I listened to my baby’s problems one at a time. She needed me. She needed help. She needed a mechanic.
I found JC on the Interwebz. They could help my baby. She needed some love but she would make it no doubt.
I asked how much this operation would cost me. Jason said it wasn’t healthcare so I could stay positive for a bit. Unlike healthcare facilities where they hold you hostage at the operating table, he wasn’t about to do that.
No, what Jason did could only be described as the act of an angel. He told me where to go to get a cheaper parts so that I could reduce the cost of the procedure. He then discounted the labor cost in my time of need. It was like he took out a samurai sword and wasted four bloodsucking competitors in a single stroke.
The whole operation was a same day affair. Got a phone call to come back. Came back. My baby was there. Alive. Well. Ready to be driven to the max.
She runs like a champ now, my baby. She won’t ever fail me. If she does, JC is who I’ll call. No doubt about it.
