Crunchy, juicy, savoy and downright delicious! Is there a more iconic dish in Sacramento than the ground or shredded beef tacos from Jimboy’s? Certainly nothing as tasty and memorable. Once you try them, you are hooked! Well seasoned, juicy beef, melted cheese, lettuce rolled into a Parmesan powdered stone grounded, crispy corn shell. What could be better? Until recently, it had been years since I last enjoyed one of my favorite hometown dishes and the tacos were every bit as good as I remembered! Now, being a NorCal transplant living in Orange County, I am certainly no stranger to getting my hands on some great tacos, but the Parmesan hard-shelled corn tortilla tacos from this Sacramento-based restaurant chain are one-of-a-kind. Reportedly these tacos are the«guilty pleasure» of Guy Feiri, he of the Food Network fame. I, like countless others, would have to agree with him. I crave these tacos over just about anything whenever I am back in town visiting. I was, therefore, elated to hear that Jimboy’s Tacos plans to expand its business in the OC as well. Voted«best taco» by Sacramento Magazine, these tacos are like my crack! So good, you cannot eat just one!

30 min lunch and food was very fast and very fresh. Dining area is clean and quiet, and the workers here were very pleasant and courteous. Everything you could ask for!

Jose you must not have eaten at Watt Avenue or Arden Way. They are awesom, they others I have tried are as you described. Except Auburn Ca. it is also awesom, it depends on the cook.

I LOVE Jimboy’s(TACO’s ONLY), but I don’t understand what the deal is with the different pricing at different locations. My GO-TO location is downtown on 29th and N, but I saw this location and pulled in and ordered a 12 pack of tacos…$ 24! Downtown it’s 19.99 on their menu and on some days it’s like $ 17…think that’s some discount day. I don’t get why the price is different here… I’m not paying close to 25 bucks for 12 tacos, that’s ridiculous, the tacos are good but in fast food quality type of way, not restaurant quality. I ended up driving through and waiting til I was back downtown to go to my tried and true location on 29th. My rating for this location is based on the ridiculous price difference, YOUGUYSARERIPPINGPEOPLEOFF!

I enjoy Jimboys, every restaurant has high quality food. This certain one though has a problem with getting the orders right. I understand mistakes happen, but this has happened why to many times. I have to check my order every time I’m there. I also noticed that certain employees will repeat the order back, but I still have to check it. Should this be a normal routine for customers when there ordering out. Concerned customer

Sad. This is the only Mexican restaurant if you call it that is skimpy on chips. Order a combination meal and they will give you exactly 2 chips. Asked for a few more and they will charge you $ 1.25. Unreal! Not going back here again.

I thought aldabertos was the most shitty Mexican place around Sacramento until I came across this shitty place, I got the most pathetic looking nachos I have ate in my entire life, I literally pay 9 $ dollars for cheese, beans, tomatoes, sour cream and steak, it was like getting a nacho bell grande from Taco Bell, but far more shitty and far more expensive. Basically you get more toppings in am/pm gas station than in this joke of a Mexican restaurant.

They’ve messed up on my order several times at the drive-thru. I always ask for a bean/vegetarian taco n they always put meat in it so my dog had a good dinner tonight. It kinda sux bcuz I paid almost $ 12 for my meal and I couldn’t enjoy it all. They also ask If you’d like sauce I say yes and never get it. Whats the point on asking? Very angry customer!

My bf had been talking about this place and how good it is, but never got the chance to try it since it’s in Sac… until thanksgiving weekend. My first impression was that it was too oily and pricy. But once I tried it, I understood why he speaks so highly of it. The price is higher than the socal taquerias, but that’s because they actually pack a lot of meat into the taco. The oil is just inevitable with fast food restaurants, and besides, this made the shell extra crunchy so it was a nice trade off. I wasn’t too fond of the packaged taco sauce, it reminded of mexican candy… it had a weird tangy taste. Also, I wasn’t a big fan of the parm cheese since it got everywhere while I was eating them, but it was a good interesting experience overall. I even found myself going back the next day to get some more, before we headed back down to socal.

Jimboys has long been a favorite of mine. This location is one off favorites. It’s an older restaurant… but it’s always clean and my order is always correct. I’ve never had any issue with their staff !!!

This location of Jimboys carries the banner as having the best Jimboys tacos and bean burritos in the Sacramento area! I have tried most all of the other locations, and this location does it best. It used to be the Fulton Ave location that had the best ground beef tacos and bean burritos, but that place closed, and fortunately the people who owned the Fulton location still own the Watt Ave location. The best thing is, the tacos and burritos are made the same way at the Watt location as they were at the Fulton location. Jimboys fans will know what I’m talking about. Anyway, long live the Watt Ave Jimboys and the current line chefs and management!

I am glad that this is not the regular Jimboys that I dine at. The taste of the food was fine but it was the service that was horrible. The man that took my order was great; he repeated it just to make sure that he had the«leave off» items correct… it was all down hill from there with the attitude from the rest of the staff. My super nachos were not supposed to have meat on them… well they did and I had to take them back to the counter twice to have it fixed, I could see the women in the back mouthing«what does she want now» and that just enraged me. So I decided to check the rest of the order before I left the store and I found I was missing a super carnitas burrito. This is trip #3 to the counter now to have the order fixed. Again I could see the women in the back saying«why doesn’t she just take the order, it’s not that big of a deal.» Okay… it’s a big deal to me when I don’t get the $ 16.36 worth of food that I ordered and on top it is wrong. I asked for the names of these two women but I got the standard«I don’t know, I’m new here» response. I will never go back to this facility again simply due to the poor service and the attitude that I received from the employees.

The ground beef tacos just make me smile. If I wanted authentic or «true» tacos, i’d make some myself. I want three ground beef tacos and a cold beer! Don’t even care what is in them, just serve hot! The only thing better than 3 tacos and a beer is six tacos and two beers!

Theses are not REAL tacos. Repeat, these are not REAL traditional Mexican style tacos. These are however some tasty morsels. Deep fried and Parmesan battered. You can’t ask for anything better. Friendly staff and well prepared food. The drive-through sucks though, just go inside. Jimboys Tacos is an all time favorite of mine.

Yuck. Used to love this place as a kid… before I discovered what a real taco should taste like. Sure… the ground beef tacos, el gordos, bean burritos, toquitos and quesadillas are all sinfully satisfying… but it’s the grease that you are tasting. The feeling you get in your gut an hour after eating here reflects on the quality of the food. Not to mention the small bone fragments you may come across in that greasy ground beef… Find yourself a true taqueria close by and enjoy fresh mexican food rather than eating the tired tacos at this fifty plus year old chain. No matter how much parmesan cheese ads to the Knudson family taco recipe, there are simply better choices nowadays.

I was famished after rolling from the Bay Area to Sac. So I stopped at Jim Boys for Lunch. Jimboys is a cross between a Taquria and a Taco Bell. I went for their Value Meal which was a 2 Tacos Beef and Chicken with Mexican Rice, Beans and a Soda. It was a pretty good deal. The food was Tasty and Fast. Bring Cash, they do take ATM cards but charge 50 Cents to use it.

I’ve frequented this Jimboy’s for years. I love their bean burritos-I order them with sour cream, which costs extra, but well worth it. Their crème filled churros are divine and always fresh & hot. I went a couple of days ago-for 2 bean burritos with sour cream and a regular size drink it came out to a little over $ 7. I asked for taco sauce and they gave me ONESTINKINGPACKET. My fault, I guess. Next time I’ll ask for more. Overall, nice customer service and good quality food.
