My fiancé had purchased a custom made ring from Jonathan (who was recommended by a friend). Little did I know, it was months of planning… He visited Jonathan every couple of weeks to see the progress of the ring. He helped my fiancé design the ring and also helped him pick out the diamonds. When it was finished and he went to pick it up, he was speechless. The ring was beautiful. Can you imagine how I felt when I first saw it? If he had that kind of a reaction, mine was multiplied by 1000. It has been about 4 months since my fiancé proposed and I still get comments on a daily basis of how beautiful my ring is. Not just from friends, family, and acquaintances… but it’s also from complete strangers. It’s always sparkling, even when it gets dirty lol. Also, Jonathan cleans the ring free of charge. I can walk in and have it cleaned in less than 5 minutes. The service there is amazing. I highly recommend Jonathan to anyone who is looking for that special piece of jewelry. He does great work and it shows. I love my ring!!!

I took in four little rings that were small in value except to me. Jonathan and I collaborated on how to combine them into a single ring. He spent time with me and listened to what I wanted along with my likes and dislikes. He had to take my original wedding band and expand it which was very complicated because it was a braided wide band. He is a masterful jeweler. I now have a beautiful wedding ring that is a combination of the original four rings but looks like it was always a single ring. It is just stunning and sparkling and I receive so many compliments on it. Jonathan even gave me back one of the small diamonds that he did not use… I would have never known either which speaks to his honesty and character. He is truly a gem.

My (now) fiancé and I visited Jonathan’s shop late last year. We looked at some of his sample rings and I brought some pictures of rings I like. A few weeks later he presented my fiancé with a rendering of a custom engagement ring and band. After that I was not involved in the process… but it involved several renderings, a 3D wax model, and viewing/​examining many diamonds to find the right one. My fiancé was very happy with the whole process. Jonathan is not only friendly, honest, and low-​pressure, but he’s very knowledgeable and can do anything in the jewelry world. I had previously brought my pictures to a different jeweler, in Los Angeles, and they were unable to design something we liked.
The end result is that I could not be happier with my engagement ring and wedding band. Honestly, it is exactly what I was envisioning in my head, only much better. The style isn’t for everyone and isn’t in line with the current trends, but it’s exactly what I wanted. Jonathan was able to figure out what I wanted and make it a reality. No easy feat!
Even though we have moved back to Los Angeles, I intend to get all future jewelry from Jonathan!

Jon Kozycz is a rare find in the jewelry business, but I would expect nothing less from him. Six years ago before I proposed to my wife (and was on a very tight budget) I came to him knowing nothing. All I knew was that I’d heard he was honest and made custom jewelry. My girlfriend at the time (and now wife) is/​was very picky and knew what she wanted! Jon listened to and educated me on the basics and the end result was beautiful! My wife absolutely loved it. Four years later her ring was stolen. I looked at local pawn shops and on the Internet without any success. Not long after, we were talking about buying a replacement and she had seen a beautiful ring on a television host’s finger that had caught her eye. I found a picture of it and came back to Jon. We went through the process once again and the custom built ring was everything she’d hoped for. He even sent me a CAD drawing before he made it to make sure everything was right. It was perfect and my wife loves it!

My now husband had asked me to tear out pictures of the kind of wedding/​engagement ring I wanted. Instead I drew him a picture and then waited for his proposal. I was shocked and thrilled to find out that he had Jon custom make my ring — it was (and still is) perfect. I have been happy with my ring for 10 years… and thankfully happy with my husband too!

Jonathan Kozycz comes from a respected family of jewelers and has been in the diamond business all his life. I bought my engagement ring from Jon more than a decade ago, long before he opened his own store, and the whole experience was about as good as it gets for a timid and cheap shopper like myself.
I lived five hours away from his home base in Sacramento at the time – I called him up and basically told him to pick something nice. He called me a few days later and said he had a fantastic stone selected: a nice balance of color, size and price. «We’ll put it in a simple setting, then your fiancée can pick out a ring later.»
I purchased the diamond sight unseen, which for those who know me would be a shock… any item over $ 100 usually comes with a heavy dose of hand wringing and comparison shopping. But I knew Jon wouldn’t do me wrong.
My fiancée loved it, and not just because she loved me. She absolutely loved the ring just as Jon had made it: a gorgeous stone in a classic setting. And for me, a good price. She still wears it to this day (I should probably swing by for a cleaning next time I’m in town).
The bottom line when you’re buying an heirloom piece like an engagement ring comes down to a jeweler’s character. Can you trust this person? You’re saying «Til death do us part,» which means that rock should be with you for a long time… you want to know that the person selling it to you is trustworthy. And I can assure you that Jonathan Kozycz is a man of character… a man you can trust with a phone order from 300 miles away. I wouldn’t buy jewelry anywhere else.
