K J Paws

I was kind of turned off by the whole Petsmart grooming experience knowing that whenever I left Bowser there, he’d get more and more anxious about watching me leave. I never got a good view of the back area where they keep/​clean the dogs, so I had my doubts about the conditions they were in.
So I came here, to this small renovated house/​grooming salon, where we were greeted by the most laid-​back tiny chihuahua mix resident dog, who sniffed my dog and didn’t bug him even though my boy is kind of skittish around other dogs (he was attacked twice at the local dog park).
Immediately I saw the few kennels they had and the area was mostly open for visitors to see the conditions their dogs are in. One of the groomers greeted me warmly and I checked us in for our appointment. Bowser (my 24 pound American Eskimo) had gotten skunked the night before and even though I shampooed him twice with whatever de-​skunking concoction I could find online, he still had a faint whiff of skunk on him.
He got a shampoo, a cut, his nails trimmed, anal glands expressed and best of all, when I came back he wasn’t shaking from the experience. The price was reasonable ($ 45 for the whole thing) and they didn’t complain that he was skunky!
I’m definitely going to be a return customer.

They are able to accommodate my senior dog who is 14yrs old. I was pleased both times that I have brought her to get groomed. As she’s getting older I want her to get groomed at a place where she is not stressed or over stimulated by the environment. When I picked her up and brought her home she was in a good mood. I have taken her to a few other places in sac and she left depressed. The staff is friendly and the place seemed clean. The price is reasonable and for that I will bring miss daisy back. I absolutely love KJ Paws! Cassie has been taking care of my Labradoodles’ grooming and therapeutic bathing for several months and I couldn’t be happier! They are super accommodating in terms of setting up appointments and I love that I can pop in and get their toenails trimmed without an appointment!

I popped in and was warmly greeted by Cheryl. I asked about getting an appointment, and she set me up for the following day with Casey.
Casey did a GREAT job on my 16 lb bichon/​poodle mix. Found as a stray/​rescue, he’s only been groomed twice before, and is still learning to be a good boy at the groomer.
Casey was patient and took great care of my boy. He has a nice even cut, and no nasty razor burns like that last place. He looks fantastic. Thank you!

Cheryl of KJ Paws has been taking care of the grooming needs of our dogs almost since they opened. It has been a periodic ritual of us saying to our three dogs…“Let’s go see Cheryl!!”…and we all race for the car! I can’t say enough about the professionalism, kindness, and excellence of KJ Paws (Cheryl). It is an enormous relief to have this great service in place… especially in a world where quality and good customer service is rare.

I have been going to Cheryl for about a year now, maybe more, and I am totally pleased with my experiences there. I have a westie, and she grooms him perfectly! In the winter I like to keep his coat a little longer, and she is totally responsive to my instructions. I also really like that he is given a specific appointment time, and is always done in 4 hours or less. At some previous groomers, they would not take specific appointments… all the dogs came early, usually all at once and they would sometimes be there all day! And, some would take appointments but were very inconsistent on how long my dog would be there.
Also, Cheryl seems to really love and care for the dogs, whereas I have had experiences with other groomers who seem to not like their job much, and therefore be annoyed by the dogs.
I really want to trust whomever is caring for my pets, and I completely trust Cheryl!

Casey is very accommodating. My little dog is always is a happy mood, when I pick him up. I love this place!

I have been bringing my miniature poodle to KJ Paws for 4 years with rave reviews but he and I both are smitten with their newest groomer, Cassie, who trims him up to look absolutely adorable. I’m not savvy enough to give specific instructions about exactly how I want him cut but she seems to know just what will accentuate his best features. KJ Paws is a bright, happy environment where dogs are treasured. I’m always confident that when I leave him with Cassie he’ll look amazing when I pick him up.

This was my first time taking my 13 year old dog to KJ Paws because his regular groomer is no longer available. So I was looking for another option because my dog is amazing but he is a hairy beast and desperately needed some attention. ;) So on the recommendation of a friend I called KJ Paws. And yes, I got voicemail and yes, I got a returned call on the same day. So previous Unilocalers may be just impatient or maybe they wouldn’t mind if their dogs were left on a raised grooming table while phones get answered. No thanks… I’ll leave a message and wait. Be patient folks. It will be worth it. Give them a call and know that your dog will be well taken care of. Yes, this was only my first time there but my dog looks beautiful and was happy and content when I came back to pick him up and he got a big ol’ cookie to top it off. Look, for those of you who love your dogs as much as I do mine KJ Paws is worth a try if you are looking for a groomer.

I just love Cheryl and K J Paws. I have taken five dogs there over the years and she does a great job. Our dog is a Tibetan terrier and he’s a handful. Cheryl grooms him beautifully and I would never take him anywhere else.

We have been taking our SSPCA rescued miniature Schnauzer to KJPaws and Cheryl since we found the dog at the SSPCA 7 months ago. The rescued dog needed to feel secure and safe. We gave the dog our protection and Cheryl was part of the loving care the dog has learned to appreciate and trust. KJ Paws is part of our support team. Highly recommended. KJ PAWS has been taking care of my four legged kids for nine years. Specifically Cheryl, whom cares for them like they were her own. If you love your animals and want the best for them I highly reccomend KJ PAWS!

We’ve been going to K J Paws for 12 years now, a time span that has seen a total of seven dogs, and Cheryl has taken excellent care of all of them. Cheryl is a talented groomer and has a good way with the dogs. The dogs always come home beautiful — freshly shampoo’d, thoroughly brushed out, nails trimmed, looking like a million bucks. Cheryl is always responsive to our needs, flexible with her schedule and always returns our phone calls in a timely manner. Cheryl is great and we’re glad we have her! We highly recommend her and K J Paws to anyone looking for a great dog groomer.

Shannon and the entire staff at KJ Paws are incredible! My wife and I have been going to this establishment for over 10 years and we have the utmost respect and loyalty for KJ PAWS. Shannon has been a consistent groomer in our dogs lives and I appreciate her kind nature and mellow attitude with both of our dogs as one of them isn’t easy to groom and Shannon handles him professionally and like he was her own! I have been taking my miniature poodle, Chauncey, to KJ Paws once a month for the last seven years. I would not go anywhere else. While all the staff is great, Chauncey’s groomer is Shannon and I can’t say enough good things about her. There have been times that I have gotten my appointment wrong, and she just smiles and somehow manages to get him all cleaned up. Very special.

I have taken my Cocker Spaniel to KJPaws since we rescued her 11 years ago and I wouldn’t think of going anywhere else. Shannon is amazing and truly loves what she does and it shows in her work! Last year she noticed a tumor like growth near my dog’s tail that concerned her and thankfully our Vet determined that it was just a fatty node and promptly removed it. I was so grateful to Shannon for her diligence in noticing it especially if it had been something more serious. The whole staff if hard working and highly skilled at what they do and my dog actually looks forward to her monthly pampering!

UPDATE — Better Business Bureu contacted. I don’t trust the other responses are from actual customers because I still can’t get anyone to answer the phone there
Received a gift certificate from this business and tried to call for an appointment…3 days later and I can’t even count the voicemails… NO RESPONSE!
I am thinking of contacting BBB or Call Curtis or something… this is sad.

I love this place. All the groomers are really nice and my dogs love them. I have been taking my Bostons here once a month for the past 5 or so years and have always been happy with their work.

I have two huskies that had never been to a groomer… They both started blowing their coats over the last few weeks and it was impossible for me to get their shedding under control even with regular brushing sessions.
Enter the team at KJ Paws. They spent 4 HOURS on my dogs. I couldn’t believe how amazing they looked. I was 100% shocked. Very reasonable pricing, great people, and they treated my dogs well — I’ll be a regular customer for life. I never knew how important regular grooming was until I saw the end result.
