Great for happy hour! Went out for the first time with a friend, we ordered what felt like half of the happy hour menu. Service was nothing short of friendly, and the food is farm-​to-​fork quality. I’d definitely consider coming back and exploring the rest of the menu.

TERRIBLE SERVICE. Very slow! The employees ignore you for long periods of time to chat with each other. Took 50 minutes to pay the bill. If you don’t want my money, fine, I’ll leave without paying then. Do not give them your money! You can get better food elsewhere as well as a better beer selection.

We had dinner yesterday Nathaniel was our server he was very polite and helpful. I will most definitely be coming back again and telling all my friends about this place. Good food, service and excellent atmosphere!!! Wish I could give it more than 5 atars!

The slowest service ever! How does a bar not provide better service for food and drinks.

It was super busy when I came in last Sunday. I really didn’t think we would get our food and drinks on time, as I have been here before when it was busy and it took forever, not to mention our orders were wrong. THIS Sunday was very different however. I decided to give this place another chance because my friend really wanted to try it out. Our bartender Nate was AMAZING. We weren’t sure what drinks to get and he suggested the perfect ones! Our drinks were made quickly and were delicious. We were MORE than satisfied. We also ordered a couple of the bar bites. They came out on time, were correct, and soooo good. We’re definitely coming here again when Nate is there! He was very polite, constantly checked on us and just above and beyond :)

Had a great time here. We had a very large group and the waitresses were all very efficient and helpful. No confusion on separate tabs Water was full and food kept coming their nachos were great as well as the pizzas. We ordered off the bar bites menu. Very clean place that is centrally located. Only down side was they were out of some of the appetizers and didn’t have many options.

Love coming to K BAR Eric and Taryn always make me feel welcome as soon as I walk in the door! Drinks are strong food is fantasic! Service always above and beyond! !

K bar has reasonable prices for downtown, great food, and excellent staff. This place is a must go for lunches and happy hours.

I’ve never given one star before but I guess there’s a first for everything…
My girlfriend and I decided to come here for an impromptu dinner at around 8:30pm on Saturday and, after a few minutes of patiently waiting near the door for someone to seat us, we decided to finally just seat ourselves as no one acknowledged us. No biggie. Once we sat down, we waited another 10 minutes with no service and finally had to flag down the waitress (keep in mind that this place is pretty small). By now, it’s 8:45 and we’re dying for a drink, a quick bite to eat and we’re confused about why we’re being ignored. Then, when we tried to order food the waitress told us that, «We usually stop serving food at 9pm but some other group just placed a large order and the kitchen would kill me if I made them take another order. I’m sorry but we can’t serve you any food.»
Are you kidding me? To say that you usually accept orders before 9pm but not today because another table ordered a large order and we’re out of luck, despite it being 8:45 and after basically ignoring us for 15 minutes?! Needless to say, we got up and left immediately.
That is unacceptable customer service and turning away business out of pure laziness is beyond ridiculous and not the way to run a restaurant in the heart of K Street. I hope management sees this and takes the appropriate action so this doesn’t happen to other patrons.

I’ve come here for happy hour a couple times and the experience was ok, nothing amazing. The building is situated on a busy corner of K and 10^th street with accommodate parking nearby. I stopped by for lunch today and noticed flyers for their drink specials on football Sundays. $ 1 off 22 oz beers lol… HEY now, lets not entice the crowds in any way possible lol.
Anyway, today the service sucked horribly. We sat down about 11:30 AM, placed our order within 5 min and did get served until close to 12:25 PM. Mind you, two guys who sat down after us… were served before us. And the guy who served us brought out a wrong plate so he said there were just a bunch of plates ready back there. (So does this mean they just take a bunch of orders at once and not care which tables they go to?) Even trying to pay the bill was a hassle, we waited another 15 – 20 min for the guy to come back with our check and receipt. In that time we could’ve walked right out and nobody would’ve known but were not like that.
The food was quite good, with large portions (especially their salads, could feed 2). But I probably won’t be back there to eat just because of their service. They need a manager with a game plan big time!

My co-​worker recently tried the food at K bar with another friend and she totally fell in love with the atmosphere indoors. Since I didn’t bring lunch to work she suggested for us to eat there. I’m always up to try a new place in the area as long as I get good food.
Well I thought this place was only for drinks. I work in downtown so I do my usual routine walks around the area. From outside it appears it’s closed in daytime however they are open. They have these big dark doors which are always closed.
We went there thinking we’ll eat the Ban Mei sandwich but they have pork in it. The waiter told us he cannot replace with any other chicken. They have only one type of chicken marinated and he doesn’t know how that will go with the sandwich. They marinate the meat over night for the next day.
My co-​worker and I shared the Thai chicken peanut salad and salmon sandwich. I was amazed the food tasted delicious. The salmon was cooked perfectly to perfection. And the salad we ordered was large that could feed three people. That was good too. And the best part was the waiter was very nice and the service was fast. In the restaurant around 11.30am only 3 tables were occupied.
I would totally recommend people for quick bite here. Just a friendly advice, the menu is not big. It’s small and food is good. They are part of the paragary group so these are chain restaurants affiliated.

Awesome staff. A fun place. Great happy hour and professional and personable staff. Good place to mingle with friends after work.

Had a great time here. The reason I’m writing this review though is because of the manager Jen. Not only did she rescue my cell phone from certain death, but she was super professional and in great humor the whole night. And Anthony the security guard was the coolest guy we met all night. We’ll be back!

Good luck getting any type of decent service if you have, or appear to have, sets of XX chromosomes. When the servers are hired with a seemingly specific set of criteria, to appease the male clientele, then that’s pretty much what is going to happen. Although I have been called sir twice in my life, I waited at the bar for far too long, surrounded by guys ogling and flirting with the bartenders and vice versa. We make 75cents to the dollar, and now we have to wait 15 minutes to the second! Inconceivable!
While I had no problems placing the order, once it was served, and I asked for it to be closed out, she never came back to drop off the bill, get a card, or ask if I needed anything else. I thought it was pretty common practice to open a tab or pay for a drink right after receiving it at the bar? I made it a point to look at my watch and walked away after waiting around 15 minutes, just like the old college professor no-​show rule.
Maybe she thought I was drinking a fish bowl all by myself and would be good for awhile, and if so, then I’m pretty flattered. And really, I may sound like a bitter cat lady, but it really irks me to wait and waste my time for no legitimate reason, especially at bars or restaurants. About an hour later, she came to the table and tapped me on the shoulder to say I still needed to pay for the drink. Oh really? A real Sherlock. We literally could have walked out the door and not paid.
I will say, that if there is ever a place where the employees, male and female both, know how to make a foundation cake on their faces, it would be here. They make the servers at Hooters and strip clubs look like either natural ingénues or Jodie Foster in Nell.

Bartender Joel was super nice to me on a random Thursday night. My friends really wanted to go to Coin Op but I wasn’t feeling it so I walked over here for a little peace from screaming barely legals.
The were pretty slow that night (Thursday at 10, I think) but everyone was very chill and relaxed, a better vibe for me that night. I’ve been here when they were packed and the crowd rambunctious. which is great too but that night I was glad for the quiet. I ordered my beer and sat at the bar, enjoying myself, the environment, and the TV with its offering of meaningless images. Joel stopped by to check on me and we laughed when I told him my story of leaving my friends at coin op, I had felt guilty not being with them but also quite content at Kbar. We chatted for a minute, another benefit of not being packed you get to chat with the bartender especially if they have such good customer service. After a while my friends showed up and we were the ruckus young people in the still pretty empty Kbar. Joel indulged us and took our crews picture.
Thanks for the awesome night (and sorry for the late post, I thought I had posted it that night)! I will have to come back again and try the food and fancy cocktails. But for me, beer and conversation are always winners!

Good place to drink on K street. It always busy on Friday and Saturday nights as they have a DJ spin top 40 and hip hop music. The food is okay, just bet food but fairly inexpensive.

I give Eric our bartender 5 stars ! He always has a smile on his face & he knows how to make bomb drinks! :)
I give the bar 4 stars only because they have no air conditioner or any fans .For as packed as this bar gets, the owners need to invest in an air conditioner!

We left empty handed… The female bartender watched us sit down then disappeared. We waited 10 minutes and left only to see all 3 employees that were currently working (including the bartender who watched us sit down) chatting each other up at the other end of the bar.

I came out here on a Friday night to meet up with some friends, before we headed elsewhere. We weren’t here for very long, but in the time that I was there. I could see that it was very lively. They had a live DJ for entertainment and a small area for possibly dancing. Around the edges of KBAR are numerous booth for large groups with a long table near the back, for smaller groups and or individuals. The bar also had a good amount of people.
While there my friends already had had a couple drinks by the time I got there, so while we waited for another friend I ordered a mint mojito. It wasn’t very good, a lot of places I find do very little to muddle the mint leaves in order to release the mint flavor into the drink. And seem to basically a half attempted job at breaking up the mint, dropping into the drink and stirring. This doesn’t make for a mint mojito, and rather a rum drink with some mint floating around in it.
For $ 7 – 8 you expect a lot better. Maybe I might give this place another chance in the future, but I don’t see it being the place we stay for the night. And more like the rest stop.

Really liked this place as a sports bar going on dive bar to celebrate a friends birthday. Big windows, lots of Sports TVs, nice staff, tall tables, and fun food/​drinks. Def coming back for whatever I need to celebrate next.
Happy Hour is $ 1 off 20oz beers… and that’s all I remember
