I feel compelled to add a couple of stars, in all fairness, to counteract the ridiculous vendetta one star votes against Leticia Ordaz in particular in this thread. They have the most local coverage and if you live here and have a TV I have no doubt that you watch it for local news, weather and maybe traffic. That said though, my previous review still stands.

OK… I watch KCRA because I like Mark Finan’s weather… So, this evening they run a story about a new restaurant and pub complex that is about to open in Carmichael…
The reporterette is standing in the venue for her report… Not in the on-​air report is the location of this complex other than just Carmichael… So I call the station to find out the cross streets or address…
When I ask why the reporterette leaves out the cross streets or address, the ditz in the newsroom responds by saying that perhaps she didn’t know that…
THE REPORTERETTE WAS STANDING IN THE VENUE… SOMEHOW SHE AND HER CAMERA PERSON FOUND IT FOR THE REPORT…
And ya wonder why some of us are not terribly confident in the quality of our TV news…

Had to delete this news program, if you want the news fast be patient, you have to watch all their commercials first

She looks like a nervous reck. It’s funny watching her force a smile.

Why is KCRA reporting that Clinton won the majority of Latinos in the 2016 Democratic Caucus in Nevada?
Winning Latino caucus votes was a big accomplishment for the Sanders campaign and KCRA seems to be making up the news to favor Clinton over Sanders.
Last night on KCRA television in Sacramento the newsreaders clearly stated that Clinton won the Latino vote overall which is plain wrong.
Sanders carried Latino voters by eight percentage points, even though Clinton won two-​thirds of Hispanics in the same state eight years ago.
I’ve watched KCRA television for over a decade and as of last night I altered my DVR settings to record the newscasts from the other local stations.

I have been watching KCRA for 20 years but I can’t watch Leticia Ordaz! So hard
to watch her stumble upon words and she should not be on the anchor desk. I can’t be
the only one who sees this! UGH

News is ok. But someone needs to watch the delivery of leticia ordaz. Her inflections are inappropriate. Her voice goes up and down at the wrong times, ALL the time. Tamara Berg needs a new hair stylist. Hair that thin should never be that long. And what’s with the sleeveless dresses ladies! It’s 45 degrees outside. Put the summer frocks back on the KCRA communal dress rack — looks like they all arrive at work and change into one of the dresses on the rack that someone else wore a few days prior. I agree with Michael B about the A list. What a bunch of baloney. Anyone can see that the votes are planned, coerced, etc. what a major waste of energy. I would never choose a business based on «the» list. KCRAOnly has 3 ½ stars on Unilocal.Does anyone at KCRA ever read the reviews?

Well what’s to say about KCRA that hasn’t been said about every main stream corporate owned media station. These guys and gals actually think they make the world a better place by spewing highly skewed information and stories that do nothing to help the general public other than cause an overall sense of fear and anxiety. How about reporting on something other than an arsonist in some other city, USA.(example given), etc… Are world is ran by shady corporations and shadow governments yet you never here KCRA report on anything like that. There to busy trying to distract you with things that don’t matter and shouldn’t be considered news at all. I really wonder what size spoon of sugar these wannabe news casters feed themselves to make it seem like they are actually doing good journalism. The world does not need another bought and paid for media station where their main concern is not really reporting but merely fear mongering and creating social distractions. I would not recommend KCRA or any other local Sacramento based media station for watching.

For 60 years of news excellence, KCRA (aka. Channel 3) has all the informative current events from Sacramento, to California, the U.S., and around the world. As my parents and I are currently living in Sacramento, California during the 1990s including myself after I was born in Sacramento entirely, we rely to watch the most important local TV station no matter what the world unfolds. I really recognized this current building located farther from the Downtown cityscape buildings near the Downtown Industrial site. I haven’t got a chance to see what’s inside the newsroom although I did seen it thru TV, but the interior and the architect outside of the current TV station building looked fantastic. The flat road waterfall looked mesmerizing as it continues to sprout.
Yep, news technology has changed for several decades. From election results to the current 21^st Century social media, KCRA has all the technology that every Sacramento residents has to offer from land, air, sea, and satellite if breaking news happens. They also have excellent weather forecast system which meteorologist can detect the predictions (rain, heat, snow, etc) of the Northern California’s weather by providing 3 live Doppler radars. Finally, they have live traffic results, so you can predict if the Sacramento, Stockton, Modesto, and parts of Bay Area commute can be easy or heavy before you go.
Here’s some good facts about KCRA. After Dave Walker and Lois Hart left CNN during the 1980s, they started to work with KCRA beginning in 1990, and they became a landmark news anchor couple of Sacramento newscast. They retired back in 2008 as Gulstan Dart and Edie Lambert filled in as of today. Secondary, Stan Atkinson did also worked with KCRA back in the 1950s thru the mid 1990s as he moved to KOVR 13 until it became CBS 13/​CW 31 after the old TV news station retired and himself too. Finally, Miguel Almaguer worked with KCRA during the 2000s decade until he becomes a NBC News correspondent as of today.
KCRA has some good organizations and communities to offer from blood drive, turkey drive, food drive, disaster charities, and many more every year.
In the end, after watching an hour segment of KCRA’s 60^th Anniversary documentary, KCRA is the most, definitive local news station of Sacramento, Stockton, and Modesto, and that’s why this slogan always said, «Where the news comes first.»

Shoddy reporting and sensationalizing runs rampant here. Regurgitating old stories seems to be the news du jour at KCRA.

Terrible reporting, almost ever story on the app is filled grammar or spelling errors. Kcra 3 is extremely bias and it kind of seems like they like to start problems or make others worse with there terrible bias reporting. I want to read un-​bias grammatically correct news articles and not have you so called «Journalists» shove your opinions down my throat, im perfectly capable of forming my own with out your.

As more sources for news are available local televisions news becomes more irrelevant. However, I continue to watch as I am waking up. Most of it is tolerable, the reporters are annoying, but I am sure they all do the best they can.
One thing that needs to be pulled is the «A List» I felt sorry for the crew when they had to repeatedly announce The RedHawk Casino as the best in every category that morning, it seems the whole RedHawk staff stuffed the ballot box that day! The «A List» is a total waste of time and useless – the Sleep Train commercials are more interesting.
The «A List» is the vanity list. KCRA, rise above this.

Sorry, I had to step in with the star votes on this with my own rating. These guys are great! The news team for KCRA 3 has had the signal on local and community efforts for the greater part of Sacramento, for as long as I have been watching; and that’s been a latter part of a decade. The news team has simply got it together; I usually watch the evening news, and I have to say that anchors Gulstan Dart, and Kellie DeMarco spell it out for the audience in clear English. Also the anchors aweigh change midway through the evening broadcast, consisting of Edie Lambert and Kellie Demarco is a game changer, and continues with their speak easy broadcasting (easy on the eyes too!).
To Mark Finan, Del Rodgers, David Bienick, Mike Luery, Mike Teselle, Tom DuHain, Dirk Verdoorn and Richard Sharp; my hats off to you! I haven’t met a better team of well apportioned men to tackle the pregnancy debate of 2010 – 2011 than you guys. Kudos!
This cast is obviously too many, too talented, and too debated on to mention everyone here, but never too unnoticed– as it seems the public grumble on Unilocal seems to be. The entire team can be found below.
KCRA is top tier broadcast news reporting agency, and that’s what they are. No more 3 star derr derr people, please!

I get my news on my phone. I like to comment in the comment sections. Unfortunately the articles are ruined by a few intolerant left leaning haters. Their filthy and rude comments are allowed to stand but most coming from a conservative pov are flagged and deleted.

Kellie Demarco — she is just horrible. Who is she related to? She continues to flub up her script. She interrupts, takes over, and has no relatedness to the community or those she works with. Each time she comments on a story, we cringe. She makes light of serious stories, and takes away from the credibility of KCRA. What is with her «pout» look like an advertisement for an dating site. Very disappointing and so unprofessional. It was so easy to watch when she was off on maturity leave, the team just flowed. Edie, Galston and the others are just bombarded by her interruptions and inappropriate comments. In fact, they must be tired of coming to her rescue!
IF you must keep her, can you get rid of that pout? That deer in the headlight stare with pouty lip with that «come hither look…»

Worst, most biased news web site on the planet. All comments that don’t align to their extreme views, are erased. No matter how polite they are written. There is no room for debate on topics at this so called news source. Disgusting! Emails to them for clarification go unanswered.

I only watch KCRA 11pm news for my local news as it is the best of the local. For ALL other national/​international news coverage I watch BBC/​Al Jeezera for they give an equal, fair, and balanced view.
I wrote this review because FINALLY I was not seeing nimnod Chris Riva butchering the news copy on the KCRA weekend 11pm news. Over the years my letters to KCRA about his poor quality had gone unheeded. Yet, after not seeing him for a while it occurred to me he might FINALLY have been sacked. After a web search, I discovered I was right. GONE, GONE, GONE. He is now in Ohio at WCPO. Thank goodness, a step up or down for him — I do not care, at least I no longer have to listen to him bungle and mangle the English language.
KCRA is the best Sacramento local news since I’ve viewed all of them over 28 years.

I’m not a fan of local tv news, especially since the evening versions are so depressing and filled with the nightly shenanigans in Stockton, which is no where near me (thank god). But occasionally I turn it on in the AM so I can get a feel for the weather and traffic.
Turning on Channel 3 this morning I was amazed by the stumblings of Mike Teselle — who apparently has serious trouble reading a teleprompter. It sounded like even he was surprised with how badly he was doing and had a deer in headlights delivery. This is a regular issue with this guy… he seems to get worse every time I see him!
Is there a shortage of literate teleprompter readers or do the producers at KCRA just take their coffee breaks when he is on the air? I’m with the other Unilocal reviewer… this guy Mike Teselle has got to be pals with the higher-​ups — he is awful.

Mike Teselle… It is painful to watch him doing the news. He is an ok reporter & that is what he should stick with. He must be related to someone high up @ KCRA.

KCRA is what every other news organization should strive to be. They have a professional, exceptional news cast and their operation is like a well-​oiled machine. It’s no wonder they are the area’s «news leader.» They are based in Sacramento and somehow manage to bring pertinent news to a host of surrounding counties spanning all the way up to Chico.
What really impresses me is their multi-​million dollar facility. I’ve been to quite a few news studios and they were all rather small and unimpressive until I came here. There are multiple studios, huge news rooms filled with reporters, web designers and producers, screens everywhere you look and a state-​of-​the-​art van and chopper out back to get to that breaking news story first. I’ve been here a couple times to film segments and I’m always awestruck by the operation.
With all this to distract you, it’s impressive to me that they still hold true to their motto: «Where the news comes first.»
