I was about to order typewriter ribbon for my vintage Sears typewriter but looked up some local options instead. He replaced my ribbon the same day for less than what it would’ve cost me online. Friendly, fast service.

When I am in Sacramento and need my typewriter repaired this is where I go. Olé has such a fondness for old mechanical things I bet he could give my old Canon SLR a pretty good tune up too if he wanted to.
He has parts and lots of second hand machines available. It’s just the kind of typewriter shop I need in a pinch.

I visited the store for the first time last week. I had a difficult time finding it because there is no sign that pops out to find you (my poor friend helped me lug my typewriter up and down the block in the rain before we found the exact location). But once I stepped foot inside, I was pulled back in time. Back to a time buried somewhere in my memory. I don’t know where or when it was, but I was filled with a familiar child-​like excitement and amazement that I only dream about these days.
Olé Kehlet is probably my new hero, and I don’t say that lightly. I have always admired people who take pride in their work and have a passion for what they do… Olé is just that kind of guy. He’s a friendly, genuine, hard-​working person and of course, he is very knowledgeable about typewriters.
Olé quickly identified my typewriter’s problems and he answered all of my obnoxious questions. I probably stayed an extra half hour just talking to him. Yes, technology changes and I realize typewriters may not be a household item anymore; however, I do hope this store stays in business for a while longer.

I called this morning at 11:30 am & by 4:15 pm we had a beautiful, clean, & oiled new (to us) typewritter. The owner went out of his way for me, and another last minute Christmas shopper. From what I understand the other called contacted him after my call and (Ollie ?) was kind enough to get both machines cleaned up and good to go before Christmas. And he went out of his way to bring me my machine!!! OMG thank you. We happen to be on his way home, but still it was so awesome of him to stop by our house to save me a drive in this weather (rainy/​windy/​severe). I’m sure when the recepient gets her present on Christmas, ohh and by the way, it came in a hard travel case too… anyway, I’m sure she will be over the moon happy with this machine. Sir– thank you for such a wonderful present, your service and your prices are most excellent. Happy Holidays and a safe & prosperous New Year to you and yours «=)
