Kelly-Moore Paint Store

Whenever I have a painting project whether it’s my house, family or friend’s house, I always go to Kelly Moore Paints on Florin Rd. The staff there is always friendly and helpful in assisting me in my selection of paints, paint colors, and advising me with their expertise on surface preparation and types of tools for the actual painting project. Tracey or Raj will always provide their expertise whenever I run into painting problems. They are also extremely helpful whenever I under estimate the gallons of paint I need to complete the project by quickly mixing up the paint for me as soon as they can. Over the years I have appreciated the service and advice this friendly staff has provided me for all my painting needs.

My bride and I had a great customer service experience today at this Kelly-​Moore store. All the staff were smiling and ready, willing and able to assist us. Tracey Heath was generous in sharing her expertise in color and finishes to help us select the best options for us. What could have been a dreadful experience in a big box store she made quick, easy and painless. We had the paint we needed for this week’s painting in hand together with samples we requested for future use. We were in and out of the store in about 40 minutes and could not be more satisfied. Great job! And thanks to the nice folks at Kelly-​Moore on Florin Road.

Tried to get paint at a different Kelly Moore location, but they couldn’t get my order done in time (yes, I needed it the same day, I’d been sick and put it off!). First KM location called this one, and found out they could help me right away. I was a bit disgruntled (just getting over illness, remember, and also tired that day) to have to load up my toddler (it was almost nap time) and drive further away from home, but not a lot of options when the painters are going to arrive the next morning!
Got to this store, was helped immediately by Sandi and Jerome. They were both very accommodating to a very tired mom with a tired toddler in tow. They helped me figure out which paint types would work best for my needs and got my order done quickly. Since I was trying to get my toddler down for a nap, they came out to the car when the order was done (nap inducement was unsuccessful, in case you were wondering).
I wish I had gone to this location when I was picking the color, for the current room and for past rooms. Sandi had a lot of great tips and information about color, it would have been very helpful. I’m planning to paint some furniture, and I will definitely be coming to this location to get the paint. I am very impressed by the good nature, helpfulness, and knowledge of the folks in this store.
Still reading? So guess what happened next. I’m getting ready to leave, and realize my car battery had died (probably something to do with my toddler turning every knob and dial on while we were waiting for paint). Turns out I shouldn’t have put off getting a new battery when I’d found out it was going bad a few months earlier. Please read my review of the fabulous customer service at the Florin Road Autozone!

I agree with the review below. One store does not represent an entire company, but some stores are just better, or in this case, crappier than the others. I’ve dealt with them over the phone and face to face as well. They are definitely not the friendliest, but not unbarable either. At least when I went there and they ran out of a test quart, the lady offered to make me one. For some reason, this Kelly Moore just seems more depressing compared to the one in Elk Grove (superb).

Yes, they have paint, and they will mix your choice of tint. But the people who work there appear to be frantic, annoyed, and/​or nervous. You get the distinct feeling that no one there is actually in charge, that you have just wondered into a store in which a hoard of freaks and former drug addicts have suddenly taken over, trying to maintain things without failing. Well, it’s only a matter of time my friends. From missing orders to the incapability to even locate business accounts, to the plain ineptitude in the manner of all things customer related. I just will NOT go back. Hopefully the other Kelly Moore stores do not represent this entire chain, and that in fact this particular one is just a sinking ship.
Have your paint mixed or selected at Lowes or Sherwin WIlliams. Anywhere but here…
