If I could give KingKong a –5 stars I would. I regret the day my husband and I hired them. It’s been a little over 4 years since multiple bathroom, complete kitchen, & family room remodel and we are continuing to deal w/negative issues due to it and will eventually have to do complete makeover on our house again. Had issues when remodel was going on; workers breaking bathroom door and them promising to replace but never did, us having to pay for twice the amount of travertine tiles when entire shower was tiled improperly & they had to rip it out and do again, someone bashed in bathroom outlet, pushing it into the wall & promised to fix but never did, all 3 new faucets in baths are crooked. That’s just the problems with the bathrooms and those are the least of our problems. We were quoted a 3 week timeline for kitchen & family room remodel, it stretched to over 3 months and was still not completed. That means not having the use of our kitchen, at all, for over 3 months. During the remodel, the plans we agreed on were changed without talking to us. Not just a little but the layout and all designs changed without a talk w/us to go ahead. When asked why, we were told there wasn’t enough space to do what we originally planned. Why didn’t they know that when original plans were made and quote was given? I’m taking about big things like an island to seat 3 at w/wine cooler on one side just being cancelled(no change to quote even though this wasn’t done). After the remodel going on over 3 months and Kevin repeatedly promising to fix things right and finish up, my husband sent a certified note telling them they were done(they did were already paid) .The kitchen cabinets are of poor quality and have fallen off hinges repeatedly, wood chipped and broken, had to hire electrician to redo the wiring in kitchen, the shower in our bedroom over the family room had a small leak and over time a part of the family room ceiling collapsed and we had to hire, first a plumber, to fix leak in shower and then someone to patch ceiling to family room and paint. Have had to replace faucet in kitchen due to continuous leaking that rotted the new sink cabinet. The supposedly«solid block» granite counters have seams that have pulled apart and chipped deeply. They painted kitchen, kitchen doors, family room, & family room doors, all paint has missing patched and the paint on the doors is peeling off in huge chunks. I know we have to redo everything but will have to save up again for it. What a waste of time and all our money!

Kingkong Construction did the remodeling on my sister’s condo. He was supposed to do the construction on the kitchen, bathroom, living room, dining room and one bedroom in 3 weeks. Unfortunately the cabinets in the kitchen took longer to arrive(but worth it) so it was delayed. However due to Kevin taking other jobs and his employees not showing up it ended up taking 4 months. He had to bring people back to try and fix the mistakes that some of the initial painters made(not all mistakes could be corrected). Kevin was not there to supervisor so the first time I came home(it wasn’t planned) on a Friday afternoon I found my front door not bolted and the the backdoor wide open. I took that as an over sight because when I left for the weekend there were two employees working in the house. Unfortunately two weeks later my sister and I came home to find almost the same thing. The front door was unbolted and I had hangers leading from my bedroom in the front of the condo to the front door. The backdoor was unlocked but closed. My neighbor was home and told me that he unlocked the gate for one of Kevin’s employees to supposedly pick up one of his tools. Per Kevin none of his employees informed him they were coming to our house and no one was supposed to be working. Half of my clothes, almost all of my jewelry and all of my electronics were stolen. I only found out after the fact that Kevin’s employees complained to my dad and my neighbors that they were not getting paid. Kevin not only didn’t follow through on his promises to give me information on his employees but he avoided contact with me following the robbery. I’m still waiting for justice to be served as instead of attending my grandmother’s viewing I had to wait hours for the police to show up. I would NEVER hire Kingkong Construction or recommend this business to anyone looking for remodeling or construction.

When my parents first hired Kevin, he seemed really helpful. We had problems with the insurance company so it was understandable that it would take longer than usual. However, it’s been over a month since the issues have been resolved with the insurance company. My mom even agreed to give him an extra $ 10,000 if he could get all the appliances installed so that our lender can come and inspect the house. After all the problems with the insurance company, we just want to get the house fixed as soon as possible. November 30th was the date that was supposed to happen. I don’t know how he obtained his license but no one in their right mind would paint the ceiling color the same as the walls. Also, he doesn’t seem to have much experience in the field if he can’t tell the difference between real hardwood floors and laminate. When he was showing my mom the samples for the wood floors, my mom chose a cherry oak sample. She kept the sample which she was able to later show him that it was what he gave her to choose. He now says he gave her the wrong sample because the amount of our contract does not cover it. Kevin doesn’t do the work himself. He hires contractors to do the work for him. He may have a few workers that work for him but so far most of the people that did the work were hired on a per job basis. He has a full time job so I just think he doesn’t have time to dedicate to this job. I’d advise anyone thinking about doing business with this company to look else where unless you like wasting your time and money or you want your house to fall apart before you even move in.
