We have been going to Kovar’s three times a week for over three years now. I can’t say enough good things about the staff and the teaching and all the great ways that my kids have grown from being students here. Thank you everyone! I highly recommend Kovar’s to everyone I know.

Love this place! Seriously can’t say enough great things about it. The instructors are amazing. They work extremely well with small children. My son has changed so much since starting here.(In a great way). Sensei Renton and Sempai Karns teach my sons class and they are the best. Along with them is Sesei Castaneda and Miss Kelli two amazing woman. If you’re in the area and looking for a place to practice karate this is the place to go.

I been coming here for 3 years. My son is 9 and I really like that I can bring him every day for 45 min. The staff is friendly positive, enthusiastic and fun. The kids engage on all the activities and game time at the end, but what I really like is that my son has learned to be more disciplined and focused. Now he does much better at school and I’m really happy about that. If I could only make a suggestion would be to be to lower the monthly premium. As a parent I think we really try to go above and beyond for our children and would really make an effort to come up with $ 140 x month. Sometimes is a real struggle for my family. Also there are alot of kids in my child’s classroom and some of my neighbors that would love to join but simply can’t afford it, or just have new bills like health insurance that now every one needs to have or prepare to pay more taxes. A break on the monthly premium would really give an incentive for the families already attending to stay and for those that want to bring their kids for the first time to actually be able to do so without breaking their wallets.

I love the supportive staff and the lessons they teach. They have helped my timid boy find his confidence and I hope to continue here for years.

I always thought karate was for kids but when I saw a wide range of ages in their adult class I have to give it a try. I was very impress with their program. Their instructors were so patient with me. I was 50 and a very, very slow learner. Thank you for giving me the confidence to continue training. I have a gym membership that I don’t go to but I look forward to coming to karate class.

Found this place through groupon and was so excited to see my little ninja get busy on the karate. Later I found out how expensive the monthly fee is and was quickly disappointed that I won’t be able to continue this awesome karate class with my four year old. I love their philosophy and the instructors but can’t afford the steep prices :(

Kovar’s Satori Academy is very much responsible for my step-son’s improved behavior in school and home. More of a precautionary measure than anything, we enrolled him nearly 6 months ago. Since then, we’ve seen improved focus and discipline, and improved mental and physical awareness. While he still acts like a 9 year-old, we’ve seen big steps in maturity(recognizing roles and responsibilities) as well. I also enrolled for 3 months, mostly looking to shed some pounds. Amazingly, I didn’t lose a single pound, yet gained 4 lbs. of muscle and saw improved definition on my body. Plus, this type of martial arts(Kenpo) focuses on quickness and agility, so I also noticed that my posture had gotten a little better, I was more flexible, and I had better balance. Much better than the results you’d get from running on a treadmill(in my opinion). The only downside is price. As a middle-to-low class family, we can barely afford our sons classes(around $ 800 for 6 months), let alone mine as well(around $ 700 with 2nd family member discount). I’ve got to take one star off for that… sorry guys. Otherwise, it’s amazing, both for adults and children. Side note: Those looking for a well-rounded martial arts experience would love this place. While Kenpo is their primary teaching, they also teach Japanese and Brazilian Ju Jitsu, Tae Kwon Do, Grecko Roman wrestling,(and more) sometimes all in the same week. And at least one night a week is dedicated to cardio and bag work.

!!Hiya! I am a ninja. And Kovars made me one. note: I used to work here so I do have a bias. As a teacher, I would definitely recommend Kovars to parents who are struggling with behavior problem children. Kovars stresses life lessons in addition to teaching self– defense. As a twenty-six year old woman, I also recommend Kovars to women who need some help gaining confidence, self assurance and who want to be able to kick some ass if necessary. I took down quite a few large men while training at Kovars– which is more realistic than taking down little women my size as men are the typical attackers. I am pretty confident now that I could escape an attacker. There is a pretty equal number of guys to girls at Kovars. Pricing varies, but they run middle of the martial arts market in the nation — about 159 a month. For people who can afford that, it’s worth it… so go to Kovars if you want to be a ninja like me. :)
