The entertainment on Tuesday Comedy night is great! Free too! The smoothies and burgers are on the healthy side. I love the Slam Poetry nights too.

Stopped in for dinner last night. I had not noticed this location in person but decided to stop by based off of Unilocal reviews. They start you off with whole grain chips and salsa. I ordered the nachos and sangria. The food was delicious and the service was great. At 7:30PM they have a live jazz band. Very cozy environment, will definitely come back soon.

I have been to Luna’s many times over the last 6 years. I have seen so many amazing local bands(including my sons band, Honyock). Aja is such a beautiful part of the whole experience there. Art Luna one of my favorite people of All Sacramento. When I am at Luna’s, I am home.

Luna’s Café is one of those spots where I imagine it would be really cool to be a regular. First time I went there, I was warmly welcomed by the proprietor himself, Mr. Art Luna. He blended up a delicious, fresh-squeezed smoothie. The next time I returned with a friend on a Thursday for poetry night, as it so happened. He ordered some coffee, which came with several refills, and I had an excellent Mexican hot chocolate. Poets were good; my sangria that came shaken, not stirred, was better. We thought we may leave early– ended up staying the whole time.

Came here to check out STAB! With my boys. It was amateur comedy night. An event I found on, where else? Unilocal! A small, funky, hippie vibe, we felt comfortable right away. Laid back, easy going– perfect! There were several tables facing toward a small stage. They host a variety of artists. Tonight it was comedy. We ordered some nachos and a quesadilla to share. My boys devoured all in no time flat. I enjoyed a glass of red & they both had fresh lemonade. All-in-all, a comfortable place to come hang out. Will have to come back & explore their juice menu sometime.

One of my favorite destinations in Midtown and they’ve been around quite awhile. I enjoy local music and poetry nights as well as the general atmosphere Luna’s has created. My favorite drink is the Islander and love that their prices are so affordable for a date night. I look forward to sharing more wonderful nights out with Coco here at Luna’s. 5 out of 5 stars!

Great music! Dr. Howard Hall’s Songwriter Showcase is a must for great songs you may never get to hear from the mainstream for marketing reasons. The service is wonderful!!!

Was in the other night to see Jay Shaner! The performance was awesome and everyone was having a great Time! Ordered the Islander which was tropical paradise in a cup! It was the perfect juice to end a hot summers day with! I realized that there was some new art work hanging on the wall which is oh so awesome. I could come in just to look at the art. This place is definitely one of sacramento’s true gyms. Will be back tonight for poetry night! Horay!

I met a poet, so the only place I knew in town to take him was Lunas. Best decision I could have made.

LOVE Luna’s! Their lemonade is fresh squeezed and just right. The hummus is made in house and SOOOO good. The staff is sweet and eager to please. The owner sometimes tells cheesy dad jokes but that just makes Luna’s that much better. I’ve attended a few of their events. Preferred the comedy but enjoyed the music too.

A little ramshackle, but homey and comfortable. Definitely not pretentious. First wandered in here 2 – 3 years ago. An off odor permeated the place and I didn’t stay and didn’t go back — until earlier this week… was checking out the new Togo’s to see if they had anything interesting for vegetarians(not much), and ended up wandering next door to Luna’s. No odor this time. Ordered the baked tofu sandwich off the lunch menu. It was quite good. Locally owned and operated by the proprietor. Want to try the other vegetarian options.

If you want local jazz, it does not get more local than Art Luna’s café. Good food, excellent vibe. Art’s run this place for 30 years bringing amazing music to the Sacramento scene.

I used to live two blocks from Luna’s. I never ventured in because I thought it was just coffee and juice and the exterior is not overly appealing. I tried it recently. I am so bummed I did not avail myself of this resource when I was living down the street! The food is great! Its not overly fancy or themed, but it is damn good. Everything is really fresh, they have great vegetarian options, and they use healthy food! The goat cheese, spinach and avocado quesadilla I had was yummy! I ordered the almond milk, chocolate and banana drink — WOW, better than I thought. The staff is really kind and attentive. The art work on display was superior to what is displayed in most coffee houses in town. This place is definitely worth stopping in to for a bite or a drink. Even though I am now a mile further away, this will definitely make it in to the restaurant rotation!

I’ve only ordered juice here so I can’t comment on the food. I like Luna’s because it is one of the only juice bars that is open past 6 pm. Ingredients are fresh and made to order. Their smoothies use simple ingredients and recipes that I could make at home but it’s not bad if I’m in a pinch for a wholesome smoothie.

I was there 2 months ago and it was a cool place. Had a small juice bar with friendly help. I think the guy was the owner. He took pride in making my experience positive. His ingredients where fresh but I don’t think he usually gets a lot of morning business because it seemed a little slow. I I was a local I would go back often.

I dropped in with a co-worker because we heard they had healthy stuff here. I ordered some kind of turkey sandwich with bacon. It was pretty ok but I kind of felt like it wasn’t anything special. :/My sandwich was also served with some chips and salsa. The chips were ok but the salsa was actually kinda spicy. I liked it. I also ordered some juice that was quite tart. I liked the flavor but it was almost too sour. My coworker has a salad and she said it was pretty good. We came about 11:30 and it was pretty empty. Not too many patrons and the people that walked in seemed to walk right out. Sort of strange. The place is kinda dingy, but not too terribly dirty. It looks like they have open mic night sometime during the week. Overall, I wasn’t too impressed with this place. I may come back for juice but I don’t know that I would bother with food here.

Luna’s Café is the cultural center of downtown Sacramento. It is a mix of tradition, generations old family magic and a rich ambiance going back decades… and that’s just the restaurant. In the evenings, local artists enhance the vibe combining Nashvillesk talent with a coffee shop intimacy. Luna’s is an experience… put this place on your bucket list.

My review is probably not a good representation of the place because all I had here was an Arnold Palmer. I kind of lost my appetite when a patron walked in with a hacking cough. When the server brought us chips… we all were kind of grossed out with the feeling they had been coughed all over. The server brought us out fresh chips, but Typhoid Mary took my appetite out the door with her.

Luna’s is a place that seems to be all about community and staying positive. The place will really give you a comforting feel in an honest way. The Service: 5⁄5 It wasn’t, «Welcome to Costco, I love you.» But I think that’s the point, it was just friendly and helpful. They took extra care to check and see if I would be ok with having cheese on my pita since I had mentioned I was a vegetarian. Doesn’t seem like a big deal, but honestly it’s amazing how many people miss courtesies as simple as this. The venue: 4⁄5 Giving the venue a 4 out of 5 might seem a bit generous… but hear me out. I’ll be the first to point out that the place might be a bit on the shabby side. And It doesn’t have the pillars of The Cheesecake Factory nor the neon lights and fancy fires you might find at a Yardhouse or flat panel plasma tvs mounted on every corner playing sports games i don’t care about. In many ways the place felt like a trip back to my childhood when visiting a family members house. Clean, but clearly not trying to impress anyone with fancy… anything. lol.(look at the picture I posted, it will explain what I mean) The food: 3⁄5 The food was good, but really nothing special in my opinion. I was able to get a healthy lunch, but it probably cost me a buck or two more than i would have liked to pay. And while I was eating… I got the feeling in my tummy that said, «Maybe this is a bit tooo healthy.» Spices, sauces and larger portions could have helped out a great deal. Also… it might sound weird and nit-picky to say, but the chips seemed out of plate on the veggie pita plate I had ordered. Again, not bad at all, but not great or amazing for sure. Last 2 Cents: Maybe I am being slightly generous on the rating for the venue, you might find it a bit too shabby indeed. But it is pretty clear that this shop aims help knit the community together with open mic nights, poetry readings, comedy, music and other events. That is something that is hard to find these days and deserves a nod of approval and kicks this place from a 3 star spot to a 4 star spot in my mind.
