Music on the Move DJs & MCs

I hired Music on the Move for a corporate event 05÷05÷16. They sent out Doug Grant. He was awesome. I didn’t have a contact in the market (I am based in SOCA). I am also a former radio promotions guy so I expect a lot. But Doug was great! Professional from Greeting to farewell. He made the best of my set up (a 50,000 sq foot warehouse). He coordinated with the guest speakers (Sacramento King Dancers) well. I can’t find anyone at our event that didn’t walk away saying GREAT MUSIC (well rounded — played to the audience, not his personal liking). I could tell the dancers were particularly charmed by Doug. Thanks for inspiring them to keep moving.

We had the most fabulous wedding for our daughter and new son-​in-​law this weekend. We could not have done it without all the help, support, and advise from Dara and Doug. They had everything organized and timed so that the parents could enjoy the wedding too. All of our guests had a very fun evening. Dara and Doug kept us on schedule, even before the ceremony began. They have excellent advise and suggestions, they stay in contact with the venue, and know how to put on the best weddings ever! They are both fun and helpful at the wedding, they watch out for any mishaps. Doug is a terrific MC, and he knows how to get everyone involved. We played one game, and it was a hit. If you are looking for experienced people to help you have the best wedding ever, Dara and Doug are it. Our wedding would not have been the same without them. I would definitely hire them again and highly recommend this team. If you are just looking for music, you still want this team. We had many compliments on the music, there was something for everyone.

I recently had Dara and Doug at my wedding and honestly it was the best decision I could have made. Not only do they DJ the wedding, they pretty much are your coordinator from beginning to end. Every single detail they were a a part of, from every song, to exact timing of me walking down the isle, to having a full on rehearsal of the wedding ceremony. They did an incredible job and want to thank them so much for what an outstanding job they did. I have already referred someone to them, I hope they use them. It would be 10 stars if I could! Doug and Dara took care of us as soon as we had our first meeting. Professional, on top of all details, flexible, you name it and they have it ALL covered. I whole-​heartedly recommend this team for any event you need a D-​jay for.
They made our daughter’s wedding such a memorable event. Customized music, ceremony music piped in, even made the daddy/​daughter dance extra special, and they guided us through all that we needed to do. I loved how the volume was just right at all times. Once dancing commenced the dance floor was covered at all times with happy partiers. It could not have gone better!!!

Doug and Dara are entertainment masters! One of the great things about them is that they customize your party for what YOU want, not what they think is best (although they’ve got some fabulous suggestions too!) My fiancé and I knew we wanted our guests to be very entertained at our wedding. It was really important that our wedding wasn’t boring and that our guests had plenty to do to keep them occupied. Doug and Dara had an arsenal of fun activities, incorporating our guests into the festivities, and really making them feel included in the day’s fun. Doug is a very skilled MC, who knows how to read the crowd, switch up music as necessary, and help set the mood for the evening. He and Dara worked flawlessly together, making sure there wasn’t any dead air, and that the agenda went on in a timely manner. Very professional equipment as well with ad-​ons like atmospheric lighting, photo booth, and light effects. I would highly recommend this wonderful DJ team to anyone who is looking for an awesome wedding (or party) DJ. Thanks you guys for adding to our unforgettable day!

Dara and Doug… a match made in HEAVEN!!! These 2 are a MUST HIRE!!! We are so lucky to have met them and hired them for our wedding at the Grand Island Mansion. From the beginning they engaged us and we felt so comfortable with them. Then we started to look at their serve offerings. Full service DJ, MC and coordinator! WOW what a deal. They are worth every penny and more!
They made us feel like family and made so many recommendations throughout the planning process that made the actual day go so smoothly. From speaker placement, mic placement, people placement, they are on point! They had all music timed perfectly and worked with every need we had and never once frowned. They were so excited to work with us and you can tell how genuine they are and how much they love what they do. That is the key! So many DJ’s out there offer a service and show up, get paid and do their job. But Doug and Dara, they offer friendship. They offer a great day and a passion for what they do and a passion for making your day the best day ever.
And they did that for us! We had so many people telling us how smooth our wedding was and how it was flawless… thats because of Doug and Dara.
They were always there for us, through any changes or tweaks to the seating chart, we could email, text or call anytime and they were responsive.
Even when i went to cut the cake, Doug was there to tell me how to cut it and not make the cake fall. Thank you for that. Dara was always there to make adjustments to the schedule, ask questions, or to ensure my mic didn’t show out of my pocket. Every detail as covered by these two. We will recommend them to anyone and everyone!!! Thank you both for making our day a great one.

Doug and Dara are amazing!!! They recently MCed my wedding. They helped us plan everything including song choices, rehearsal and gave us great ideas on everything for the wedding. They are so friendly, helpful, kind, professional and they really get to know you. If I could redo my wedding they would still be my first and only choice for DJ/​MC. They went above and beyond to make our wedding perfect. I highly highly recommend them.

I photographed a wedding recently and had the pleasure of working with Doug and Dara. It makes a big difference when all the vendors work cooperatively together, not only for the vendors’ sake but most importantly, for the experience of the bride and groom.
I was pleasantly surprised over and over throughout the night at how helpful and experienced they were. They provided me with an easy to read itinerary of events, without me even having to ask! They checked in with me and my fellow photographer before the start of each segment to ensure we were prepared and ready to capture the next event. They were very responsive to the guests’ experience, ensuring the music created an environment where guests not only started dancing but kept on dancing. Their lighting gave the reception an elegant ambiance which was a big plus to me as a photographer – lighting like theirs can make any venue look wonderful in photos. The MCing was perfect, Doug was not ostentatious or distracting, during the speeches the bride, groom and bridal party shined because of his experienced demeanor.
Even though I had only just met Doug and Dara I could tell they put their hearts and souls into their work and genuinely care about the bride and groom. I consider this quality a rare gem and it sets them far above the rest.

Awesome duo of DJ’s! Doug & Dara did an awesome job @ my wedding at the Grand Island Mansion on Sept 15^th, 2013. They kept everything flowing nicely. With Doug as the Dj & Dara doing coordinating & direction it’s a great set up! Couple of things… during speeches I asked them to open it up after my family speeches to guests to speak and The DJ closed it off, my mom had to open it up & we got a lot of nice, heartfelt speech from my friends/​family & especially 87yr old grandfather papa. Also, my sister aka matron of honor was supposed to do the 1^st speech Not the best man (who had practically done nothing for the wedding except for show up) my sister did so many amazing things should had gone 1^st which I had also told them about before hand, not sure what happened! Anyways all in all they both did a awesome… AMAZING Job!!! Very detailed oriented! The flow of the wedding worked out perfect. We had the best day ever!!! If your looking for a DJ look no further! Thank You!!! :)

DJ Chuck is simply the best! Our wedding day was absolutely perfect, thanks in large part to Chuck. His ability to make all our guests comfortable and welcome, and his incredible selection of music kept EVERYONE on the dance floor all night! Not only is he such a pleasure to work with, he is so accommodating, and helps ensure your special day is just right. His years of experience, professionalism and genuine positivity make him the BEST DJ. I recently got married and I was SO happy we chose Doug and Dara!
These two truly made our wedding so special! They did our ceremony and reception and we couldn’t be more pleased with how everything turned out! They were the first DJs we met with and loved them from the start! They are so professional, organized, and outgoing. We met with other DJs and just couldn’t get these two out of our heads and we had to have them do our wedding.
They made the planning process of picking songs and what to include in each part of the wedding so easy. Dara is so helpful and great on emailing directly back with any questions or concerns you have. Doug was so helpful with the song choices and coming up with songs when all you have is an idea or sound of what you want to have. They do amazing up-​lightening and I would highly recommend including that in your wedding. It made our wedding so much more intimate and romantic.
If you want to have a stress free, well organized, and fun wedding go with Doug and Dara!!! Dara helped me 3 times when my bustle got stepped on and broke and she was right there with dental floss under my dress sewing it no matter how many times it broke. I would have been a stress case if it weren’t for her. Doug was great with the music choices and little events that went on during the reception. All our guests really loved him and gave us tons of compliments on how outgoing and friendly he was.
Can’t compliment these two enough! Go with Doug and Dara as your DJs and so much more! They even brought glow stick bracelets that we didn’t know about and our guests loved them!

Doug and Dara Harmon did a FANTASTIC job on our wedding!!! Dara had the whole ceremony mapped out to a T and it went very smoothly. Doug played the music that we wanted during the ceremony and the reception. We had a blast at out wedding and so did everyone else. People told us that our wedding DJ was one of the best out there and played really good dancing music.

We had them DJ the actual wedding ceremony, and thank god we did. They basically conducted the rehearsal and made sure the ceremony was a success. And the reception was a blast with them! They are incredibly detail-​oriented, patient, and fun! Love them. They are «the shiz-​nit.» (Ha! that’s what I told them that night)

Doug LeVine and Dara Harmon have been doing this job for a long time and it shows. Their organization is fantastic, and helped our day going smooth. In the preparation meetings, they take your suggestions for music to play or not to play very serious and take detailed notes to build their library of music for your night.
While they have tons of suggestions of what you can do with your day, they are extremely receiving of your choices and do not push things that you don’t want in your wedding.
You will not be disappointed if you have them on your side.
