Just took a pottery class from Lisa as a birthday present from my boyfriend. She’s is awesome, super informitive and wasn’t at all short with her answer to our silly questions. She set us up with the hardest parts of throwing a bowl(centering the clay) and told us the basics of how to do it. I really loved that she just let us have at it and didn’t hover around our shoulders to make sure we were doing it «right.» She came back after about 10 minutes to check our progress and help us if we needed it. This was so so SO much fun. I totally recommend it to anyone; «artistic» talents or not(I have close to 0% artistic inclinations and still loved it.) We will be back to glaze our bowls and I can’t wait!

Holy moly! Where to start?! This place is frigg’n AWESOME! Lisa, the owner, has an amazing business. My husband and I had a wheel throwing lesson with her. She made us feel comfortable right away. She is a great teacher and broke down the steps so that we could follow. We had a blast! I HIGHLY recommend taking a class/workshop with Lisa. While there, we also found out that MyStudio is a shared space studio where artists can come and create! Some rent out spaces and others just come in when the mood strikes. Very cool. If you do ceramics, they’ve got you covered with wheels and kilns, and Lisa can fire your pieces for you! If you paint, no problem. Sketching? Jewelry making? Whatever it is, I’m sure you can do it here. This place rocks!

This place is awesome but the person in charge, Lisa, is extremely unprofessional. Every time I’ve come in there she has been taciturn at best to members. Once I saw her chew out a member in front of other members for using supplies that were apparently reserved for classes but weren’t labelled at all. It’s unfortunate because it’s a nice space, but the customer service is anything but. I won’t be coming back.

This place is awesome and Lisa is a great instructor. I found this place off of Groupon and decided to try their pottery date night offer. Went there with my boyfriend and attempted to craft a bowl. It takes about 45 minute to an hour but we talked a lot and ended up staying longer. My boyfriend messed up on his first one(looked like a toilet imo) and Lisa was very accommodating to us, allowed him to try again with different clay, and even let us stay past closing time to finish. We really appreciated her kindness! If you’re looking for something different to do with your significant other, friend, family, etc., I totally recommend this place!

I normally avoid any type of art studio, as quite frankly I am not the most creative person and always feel self conscious and out of place. My girlfriend however is the opposite. Every time I visited the studio with her(both to check it out and for meetups where we’d make something) all of the artists went out of their way to help me feel comfortable. Some of the artists teach classes, I haven’t tried any yet but I know i would win major points with the gf if I went to one with her so that will probably happen in the near future. Overall, MyStudio is an upbuilding environment and I would recommend anyone to check it, whether you’re artistic or not.

My friend and I just took a pottery class here with Lisa and it was FANTASTIC! Lisa is truly a master at her trade and we had a blast learning some basic pottery skills in a comfortable and nonjudgmental environment. Also, the studio itself is such a fun and creative idea. I will definitely be back!

Mystudio is awesome! I walked in with my 5-year-old daughter, who really wants to be an artist when she grows up. We loved browsing the many types of artworks(paintings, photographs, clay figures, ceramics, a metal robot sculpture, etc etc), checking out the artists’ work spaces, and — most of all — watching real artists at work. They were very friendly and happy to let us watch. One artist even let my daughter name an awesome clay statue he was working on — it totally made her day.(She named it Frank, which was, weirdly, totally perfect.) We each painted a ceramic bowl, which was quite fun, and they turned out beautifully. Such lovely color options. We’ll definitely be back!

This is the place! The place to go for personal expression, date night, a day with the kids or a permanent space to create on your own. Art spaces, classes, local artisan made items and a gallery. A pottery studio plus more! Jewelry, woodworking, mixed media, etc. Midtown has needed an artsy place to play and a place to work all in the same place. It’s located right in the heart of Midtown Sacramento on J between 23rd and 24th.
