Natomas High School

My Daughters boyfriend attended and graduated from this school. My complaint is that he missed his senior ball because they were a day late getting the permission slip for my daughter to go due to her principal being out of town and not receiving the email until the day before. We did receive the email but didn’t make it back to natomas high office before they closed. Thinking they would understand the following morning when we showed up bright and early with slip in hand. Mind you tux was already rented and dress paid for including alterations cost us a good amount. They refused to let us purchase the tickets and their lifetime memory was destroyed. I was shocked at the cold heartedness of the vice principle. They were so disappointed.

It is hard to believe that this district got itself into trouble this bad. It overpaid for land and built a brand new school 2 years before deciding it had to close another one due to lack of funding. Teachers have had to take a week of furlough to save the district money, thus causing the school year to end one week early. There is no rhyme or reason to how students are assigned to schools and transportation is a disaster as a result. Everyone just flocked to each new school as it was built. Now, temporary classrooms sit empty at one school site while students crowd into other «newer» sites. Just because a facility is new doesn’t mean the school is good! Some schools are on year round schedule while others are on traditional. There is enough space that the students can be divided evenly between the existing schools and all go on traditional track and not have so much chaos. Imagine having three kids in three different schools on three different tracks. Some families actually have to deal with this, and it is totally unnecessary. Obviously something besides common sense is influencing this district.
