Cheap drinks with great bartenders! Forest in the kitchen is AMAZING!!! He is such a hard worker and so sweet.

Shepherds pie had great flavor; nice serving size. Can’t go wrong with Smithwick’s on tap. The only thing I would change is the AC wasn’t working very well and I’d play Irish music rather than the 70’s slow songs. Servers were very nice and pleasant.

Love Irish food and just tried to come eat here with my son after a visit to the train museum. Stood in the doorway for several minutes with abosulutely no acknowledgment from staff. Best part is, the couple who walked in before is was seated immediately So we decided to take our business elsewhere that we would not be ignored.

Worst service ever. We ordered their sampler basket(Mozzarella sticks, fried zucchini and chicken strips). It took 30 minutes before we ever saw any food hit the table. Mozzarella sticks weren’t cooked thoroughly, you know how they’re suppose to be all stringy when you bite into then, FAR from it. The zucchini was soaked in oil. And the chicken strips, good thing they use pre-cooked chicken strips, hot on the outside but still cold on the inside. And then they wanted to charge us for the food, absolutely ridiculous. Never again will we enter that establishment. Didn’t want to give any stars, but had to give one to post.

I really wanted to like this place but it was a little disappointing. First off, they were out of practically half their menu. Second, hardly any of the items had descriptions so it was hard to know what you were getting on the sandwich. And lastly, the service was incredibly slow. My shepards pie was good, but it was salty and not my first choice. However, they did take off my shepards pie to make up for lack of service, which I did appreciate. But it still might be a while before I come again.

Anna our very pregnant waitress/bartender was the best. She was quick and knew the menu well. The fried mushrooms were to die for. Ordered jack n Coke and the drink was not skimpy on my jack When I’m back in Sac… I will stop by again.

I was there on St Patty’s Day, my bill came to $ 23 on my receipt and $ 41 was charged to my card according to my bank statement so if you go there, watch your money!

Maybe this is a great place for regulars? Walk-ins however are very actively discouraged. When I tried to go here today the bartender did not bother to acknowledge me and my two companions coming in. After a moment I walked over to the bar to try to order. Again the bartender refused to acknowledge me. I should probably add that it was very quite in the place, not busy at all. The bartender was to busy talking with his 5 regulars(or buddies) to acknowledge me. I waited a moment and tried it one more time but he did everything he could not to make eye contact. Maybe he was high on something. I would not be surprised. Anyway we got the hint and left to have drinks somewhere where they would take our money. I will never ever go here again and recommend you bring your money somewhere where you are welcome.

Great food, atmosphere and service! This was my first time here but I plan to keep it on my list for future visits. I’m not sure which to recommend more, the perfectly seasoned french fries or hand battered onion rings. I’d recommend sharing both! Justin made sure we were well taken care of and prepared our food to perfection!

I’m from out of town. I honestly stopped by here by accident. After coming in the first time, I had to make another stop. The first stop was for drinks and the second time for food. I got a hotel room nearby and I truly enjoyed coming by here. The drinks were cheap and the service at the bar was great. When I came by again for food, I sat at the kitchen bar because the place was packed! It showed me that the place is popular, so that was a good sign. The food was amazing. I got the platter and you can choose three things from their appetizers that you want. The food was incredible and I highly recommend that you order their fries too. Definitely coming back if I hit up Old Sac again.

This is a zero frills sort of place. I lived two years in Ireland, and O’Mally’s looks just like my old«local» in Clondalkin. When you walk in you are met with a smallish space with just a handful of all-wooden tables and chairs, a big wooden bar-front and center, and(save for the wall hangings) sparse decore. It is as authentic as you can get to a non-touristy Irish pub as you will ever see in the tourist trap hell that is Old Sacramento. The service is fast and friendly. The food is freshly prepared, and the portions are huge. Oh, and the prices are shockingly reasonable! I’ve been to Old Sacramento a couple of times, because my 9 year old just loves to walk around there and it’s a fun day for her. This is the best meal, by far, that I’ve consumed there. Bravo, O’Mally’s! Way to represent the Pub Spirit!!!

This place is much better than it looks when you first walk through the door. Bit of a dive bar, but the food!!! We were totally blown away by the burgers and slaw and rings. Turns out, it’s all hand made from family recipes. We had both the pastrami burger and the bleu burger Both were amazing. A little too big for us, but we put in the effort to finish them off!

I went on a date with this girl I’ve been seeing for a while over the holidays. She brought me to this place and it was one of the best pub experiences I’ve ever had. In addition to the VERY reasonable prices, the atmosphere was extremely friendly, service was prompt, and the crowd was friendly. — Great food — Great service — friendly patrons — Great drinks –EXCELLENT prices I would strongly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great pub experience in old Sacramento. Also, ask for Jenny as a bartender.

I came here on a Sunday night with my boyfriend and two other friends for his 21st birthday, we came in around 11:30 and we ended up being the only ones really there but had a great time thanks to the bartender on staff that night, if I can remember correctly I think his name was Josh. I didn’t catch the bouncers name but he was really cool too. We went in not really knowing what we wanted to drink and anything we described or asked about Josh was on top of and answered the million questions we had about any and every drink we could think of. If your on the fence about bars in Old Sacramento and are looking for somewhere to have some fun I would definitely recommend O’mallys and better yet I would recommend coming if Josh is on shift. We’ll be back!

I’ve only been here once, but I loved this place. I like gin and tonic and Jameson and ginger and they know how to make them well. The food there is amazing, I didn’t like one of their dishes. I think it was the bakers pie or something but everything was great. The vibe is very dive bar like and when the touch tones is on everyone including the bartenders sing along to the music. The people can get a little roudy, but that just has to do with the people that go there. The service is superb, the drinks are great and if you’re hungry you’ll love it here for some late food cravings.

I guess this place is a hit or miss experience for some people. Unfortunately it was a miss for me. I came here on a Saturday afternoon after costume shopping at Evangeline’s. I wanted a nice, cold drink after a bustling afternoon. I love Irish pubs and the atmosphere of a dive bar and saw the sign«O’Mally’s» very Irish eh. I looked inside and it was not crowded. I helped myself to the bar and was looking at the drink specials. A shooter sounds good and a Black and Tan. When I ask the lady bartender what’s in the different shooters on the menu, she seems annoyed that she has to explain each item. I was excited to have a drink and she just killed my joyful mood. You kinda have a sense if someone is in a bad state of mind. It’s not busy so she shouldn’t be overwhelmed. I also asked for a black and tan and she said that she is all out of the port. That’s disappointing for an Irish pub to be out of port at 5 pm! Granted it’s not her fault, she’s just the bartender, so I blame it on poor management for not doing inventory and not making sure they are well stocked on a daily basis, also for hiring miserable staff. I gave this place a two star instead of one star because this place has a great potential. It’s got a great location and good selection of pub food but it lacks the customer service.

I give this place 5 stars because the atmosphere is always positive, the bartenders are the nicest ever, and if your into classic greasy pub food then you will be in heaven. They have the best twist on tacos in the world… CORNBEEFTACOS! You will not be sorry, especially with a side of their french fries witch are thinly sliced almost like potato chips but slightly thicker. After 9 on Fridays and Saturdays the down stairs opens up with a second pool table and beer pong table that you can use if you buy pitchers or ask the bartender nicely for some water.

After spotting the outside sign I was full of hope and excitement that we might have found an Irish bar that we could love here in Sacramento! After going inside, and hanging for a while, I’m not so sure. Yes, the layout and inside décor is… interesting. The clientele was a combination of tourists from out of town getting their mid day drink on and locals drinking and ordering food between hours at their own businesses. I felt that the bar staff was borderline happy to see us and also mad to be around us. It wasn’t the friendly Irish welcome we were hoping for. The sample basket was actually pretty good. It’s a basket of fried things and everything tasted pretty fresh, so no complaints there. The mushrooms were amazing! The beer was a little steeply priced for my liking, at $ 6/pint for a regular run of the mill brand I felt swindled. Par for the course I guess with Old Sac prices. An okay stop in Old Sac.
