Although I’m a social media consultant, I believe real life interaction always trumps virtual. And a card in the mail, hand written and personal delivered by the postman, knocks your prospects socks off. I’ve always loved purchasing cards. I used to even joke that I could operate my own card store based on all the cards I’d purchased just in case. Because most people have quit sending any kind of personal mail, the inventory at the stationary shops is mostly terrible. But Papyrus has a custom printed while you wait option. You pick the color, the font, the message from a binder with hundreds of choices. Come back in an hour and they’re done! They put them in a little silk bag that you can carry around in your brief case and write a note any time you meet someone cool.

The customer service was so-so at this location. What I really had a problem with was their selection. It seemed like this store was a limited version of the average Papyrus that someone would walk into. Very crowded with items due to small space, and I found their special paper selection extremely lacking. Will be going to other locations besides this one in the future for sure.

Terrible! Terrible! Terrible! Was at the mall birthday shopping and walked into this store and was COMPLETELY ignored by both of the employees. It was a man and a woman and they were standing there on the floor gossiping about someone and didnt even bother to stop when I walked in. They both looked at me and turned back around. There was no «hello» «can I help you?» NOTHING. And I kept shopping, I had picked up some cute items and was ready to purchase them and stood there while I waited for the employees to acknowledge me. The man then turned and looked at me for a few seconds and turned back to continue gossiping and then the woman did the same exact thing. Neither of them came over to ring me up so I set down my items as walked out and I will never be returning. The cute items are not worth the terrible customer service.

Why are small-ticket yet loyal customers treated like corpse flowers when high-ticket customers walk in? This is the fundamental question I would pose to this Papyrus location. Dateline: Sunday, approximately 5:45pm. Store was empty when I inquired about a commitment ceremony card. As the saleswoman had a dumb-as-a-doorknob look on her face(no disrespect to doorknobs), I explained«same-sex couple ceremony.» She nodded and as there was not a soul in sight, she searched through a box tucked away under a table for a suitable card, and presented me with a few options. I ask her about the service Papyrus announces through small placards peppered among the greeting cards promising custom engraving for cards for a small fee($ 3). She lets me know the process takes about 15 – 20 minutes, but I mentioned in no uncertain terms that today I cannot wait but could I come back later in the week to pick it up? She lets me know that as long as I return by Saturday(as the store will be undergoing renovations the next day and thus, be closed), I can pick up the engraved card another day. This is where her customer service skills go out the window as I(evidently) morph into a corpse flower before her very eyes. A couple with a baby came asked about wedding invitations. She invites them to have a seat and shows them a huge binder with all sorts of price points. However, while she fawns over them for the next five minutes, I’ve already chosen my card, need to pay, and get the heck outta Dodge. I stand near her. No acknowledgment. The couple, obviously so slap-happy in love don’t even budge two seconds to allow me to pay for my card, order engraving and let them get back to the business of getting married. Finally, I interject«I’m ready» but again, saleswoman doesn’t miss a beat and ignores me. I take the card, place it on the table, grumble something about«I’ll be back» and promptly leave. For good. I’ve been a Papyrus customer since before my(24-year old) son was born. But in one ignorant move, she made sure I never step foot in a Papyrus again. And you’ve been inducted into the Bottom-Dwellers One Star Hall of Shame!

This is a review for their onsite invitation printing we had done in November.(The cards and whatnot they sell are very nice quality). Using Papyrus was an extremely frustrating process. While the store manager was helpful… the woman doing the printing was not very helpful and the other sales associates lacked overall competance. The proof sent out had a mistake… and we were never sent another proof once we asked them to fix it. Consequently, the first set of cards had another mistake on them… and the printer told us that while they usually charged 50 percent on a reprint she would do us a favor and only charged us the $ 10 reprint fee. On principle this was unpleasing, but whatever. We were so frustrated with the cards that we took them… and mailed them with yet ANOTHER mistake on them. 3 mishaps… really? We spent a decent amount on flat card invites that were nothing special just for the ease of using this store. It was a mistake. I’ve worked with 3 other(and local!) invitation printers in the past year, and all were MUCHMUCHMUCH better than Papyrus.
