Cowboy Up.. .A great time at the arena. .never been to a bulling riding event before and I was thrilled from the time we entered the doors of the arena. Packed house with«Urban and Bourbon Cowboys». Fireworks and Big Ass Bulls, yelling for the Cowboys and cheering on the Bulls. It will hold your attention for 2 hours and make you want to come back. I came away with a great respect for the riders and the clowns. Putting a 200lbs body on a 2,000lbs angry bull doesn’t make sense, but it sure is entertaining.. .

Ride ‘em, cowboys! Get along, little doggies! I loooove PBR(and no, not the cheap beer)! We first got tickets in 2013 just to watch the action and fill in an otherwise-uneventful Saturday night in January. And now, we’re hooked! Sacramento is usually the fifth stop on the PBR tour, which culminates in the World Championships in Las Vegas every October(yes, attending that is on my bucket list, for sure!). I’d have to say I’m impressed with the turnout… Sacramento represents, folks! And it gets loud and noisy and boisterous at times, so be aware of that if you plan on bringing the little ones; explosions, loud music, bright lights, booming PA system… it’s hard to talk to the person next to you sometimes, but boy is it fun! Really good, inexpensive, clean family fun. PBR is a two-night event. The first night is the qualifiers, where every rider goes thru one ride to get the best score possible. As it happens, Ryan Dirteater(yeah, I still don’t believe that’s his REAL name, but it’s still cool!) is at the top of the leader board after the first round here in Sac, just like he was last year in 2014. The second night is the second ride to score more points, and then the highest 15 scorers go into the third round to accumulate the most points for the win. In 2013 and 2014, we went on the Saturday night to watch the finale rounds; this year, we went on the first night, and still had a lot of fun! I highly recommend going to at least ONE night of PBR when it hits up Sac in January annually… it’s pretty fun, and it really is good for a family night out. Watching those guys try to stay on those bucking bulls is so entertaining, and you’ll get to experience how long eight seconds really can be(that’s how long a rider has to stay on to get a qualified ride and score, BTW). I’m already looking forward to next year’s PBR… and I am hitting up a western wear store and getting myself a PBR outfit! I look good in a cowboy hat, so I should have one! And some Ariat boots and Wrangler jeans. I may have to put off upgrading to a Ford F150 pick-up though(at least for now!).
