Hands down the best Phở in town, matter of fact best in all of Sac! Don’t mistaken the 5 star given is not for their service i’d give the service a 2.5 but we all can agree, service oriented or not we come back because it’s that good! Their Phở Ga broth is even better than«Phở Ga Huong Que Café«in Oakland! if only«Phở Ahn Dao«can compliment their phở ga with a side of «Phở Ga Huong Que Café’s cold ginger chicken! Now that pairing would be heaven! Lol. They need to open 24⁄7 best hangover spot you can go to! lol. but if that’s not possible at least for dinner?!

I’ve lived in Viet Nam. I speak Viet Namese. So I don’t expect an American experience when I go here. If you want to eat Americanized Viet Namese food and have a nice little white folk experience, don’t eat here. There are some darn good places out there that provide that.(Saigon Bay is a good example — decent Phở, nice people, good service.) This place caters to the Viet Namese community and the Phở reflects that. They have different ideas about service and will even sit you with complete strangers sometimes as they often do in Asia. But… As one of my Viet Namese friends says: «I can eat Phở two places: my Mom’s house and here.» Any questions?

This is the«only» place that I will tolerate long waits, bad customer service, dirty floors and stinky-smelling tables. Their chicken phở hands down is worth the wait! Their phở is the reason that they can be open for so few hours and still stay in business… When it comes to their phở, I have not been disappoint yet. This place is a must go to place for me everything I’m in Sacramento.

I’d give this place zero stars if I could for the terrible service. Took 15 minutes before we were able to call someone over to order. Another 45 minutes passed ANDSTILLNOFOOD. Being busy isn’t even an excuse because people got their food and finished even though they got there AFTERWEHADORDERED. Finally got up to leave because we were there for lunch break and the owner started yelling at us about not telling him even though we tried unsuccessfully to flag him down multiple times before. TERRIBLE.

Food is great but wait is lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnng. We had four groups that came after us and they got seated before us. The waiter assigned us a table and the person that cleans the table went and clean 4 other tables before ours. Terrible, defiantly not leaving no tip.

Phở Anh Dao is not a place where you expect great service… However, once you get over bad and slow service… You r set! Lol Seriously, the Phở broth is very tasty and consistent with each visit… I have overcome the bad service to enjoy the PHO… Give it a try and You’ll see what I am talking about… Enjoy!!!

The wait is like 40 mins of hell. Menu? What menu? They don’t even offer a menu upon seating. Luckily I already know what I wanted – phở ga and for the rest of my party – beef phở. How I remember phở ga was freaking delicious and a bit heavy on the msg after a drunken club night. Now that I’m fully sober and revisiting a memory, the phở ga didn’t live up to my expectations. For the long wait, I get a bowl of slightly undercooked noodles. Undercooked noodles = bad gas.(TMI, I know). Broth? I wasn’t impressed and it wasn’t worth that 40 mins of waiting. I should’ve just gone to PK2 next door and get the BBH or lollibowl.

There are many Vietnamese restaurant across the South Sacramento neighborhood, and this one is just quite appealing for this one called, «Phở Anh Dao.» Phở Anh Dao delivers the finest and the most flavorful phở ever made, so many frequent customers(young and old) will be welcomed and coming back the most every day. On 10/28/2015 after I finished my class at college, I decided to dine in here. As I entered, I started to write my name first despite the massive wait for the table. Minutes later, I get in for a reserved table. For the food choice, I ordered one signature dish, Phở Ga(aka. Vietnamese Chicken Noodle Soup) which it contains flavorful, homemade chicken broth with Vermicelli noodles and cooked chicken strips. After I ordered an entrée, the product arrived around 30 — 35 minutes later which it doubles the wait time for reserving a table. As I ate it, this dish is not bad although it’s an average meal for me. The goods: Good heatness of the broth and the ingredients of Phở Ga which it did worked the notch. The cons: the broth. The broth tasted good although it needs to add a little bit of salt despite the wait of the phở arrival. Overall, it’s an alright, fine meal for Phở Ga! Their service is a hit-n-miss to me. After I got a table, some customers are getting dazed and confused(possibly frustrated) for the arrival of the phở or other entrees despite the wait. My recommendation: don’t give up the wait easily because their phở needs to make remarkable ingredients by making it so tasty, so you won’t regret it. There’s some parking spaces available in this strip mall although you’ll have to prepare it before it opens. If you want to come Phở Anh Dao early as it opens its doors, you’ll have good chances to reserve a table in no time in a flash except the food arrival wait after requesting it. Additionally, bring cold, hard cash too cause this place never accept credit/debit cards to complete the purchase. Finally, their concept is very old schooled with all the white designs and few paintings on the wall too. I hope this place needs to redesigned the interior in the future. To conclude, Phở Anh Dao is a fine, average Vietnamese restaurant right in the Little Saigon neighborhood in South Sacramento. An «Ok» visit. My rating: 3 solid stars.

I came here with my family at 2PM on a Saturday. A friend of mine recommended this restaurant, but I overall had a average experience. To be fair, it was an hour from closing time. They ran out of beef, so they warned us before we sat down that there is only chicken phở. We didn’t receive any menus and noticed others were the same. So that suggests theres only two options of phở(beef or chicken). It took almost 30 minutes to receive our food, and the small number of employees became very evident. We were given 2 waters for my family of 4, so we had to let the waiter we were missing some waters. The manager seemed nice though. THEFOOD: The chicken phở had alright broth(not as flavorful as I would’ve hoped), and there wasn’t that much chicken in my bowl. My Vietnamese parents weren’t pleased by their meal but it might be because they are use to phở restaurants in San Jose. Probably would rather risk a different 3 star phở restaurant next time.

You heard it here first. The best phở in the world exists in Sacramento, California at Phở Ann Dao. Service really isn’t their thing BUT the phở is the best thing you’ll ever have. Better than Vietnam, better than your mom’s, and better than the phở shops around the world. Nuff’ said!

The phở here is good and it’s probably the best phở in sac but the wait is crazy. I always get the phở dac biet and the broth is yummy. You can smell the phở aroma and tell that it’s fenna be a delicious bowl of authentic Vietnamese Phở. Not only this, but the broth isn’t boiled down where it’s dark and cloudy but it’s clear and not greasy. However the wait here is absurd and crazy ! If you’re hangry then you shouldn’t come here lol. My mom and I were seated fairly quickly but we didn’t get our bowl of phở til 45 minutes later *yikes* It’s a good place for phở if you have the time of the day to wait. Overall the food here is good but I had to give it three stars because the wait is outrageous!!!

It’s been a long time and I have been putting off writing a review because I haven’t been back for years and it’s is difficult for me to decide how many stars to give this restaurant. I am truly torn as I would give this place 5 stars for their phở and 0 star for the poor service and especially the long wait. Since the phở is pretty good, I will be generous and round up to a 4 star(probably should be a 3.5 star). I have been a patron of this restaurant for ten plus years since they first opened the original location down the street. They are known for phở(beef or chicken). I like that their menu is very simple as they just specialize in phở and nothing else. Of course home cooked phở is great but I have to admit that the phở broth at this establishment is really good and tasty. The broth is very flavorful especially with the beef broth as the spices is not overpowering and still maintain a robust beef flavor with a layer of fat on top that adds richness to the clear broth(phở broth should be clear). They give a decent amount of meat and the meat is tender and flavorful as well. The chicken phở is also good with a clean and clear broth for a lighter take on phở(the chicken comes with skin just FYI). The service on the other hand is horrible. There is always a long wait for food and it is even worse when you have to wait for a table. Today, I came just before 1 pm and the place was still packed but I was able to grab a table for 2 within 5 – 10 min. We were not offered a menu which is typical and ordered right away but still had to wait another hour for 2 bowls of phở. I don’t know what the servers were doing but the one who took our order pretty much disappeared and then went to chit chat with someone she knew so I went and got our own water. There was only 1 person delivering phở to the customers so that probably partially explains the long wait. I decided to add meatballs after we placed the order and had to remind them twice and didn’t get the meatballs until I finished half of my bowl of phở. The husband really dislike the wait and declared that he will not come back to this restaurant so I will have to go by myself next time or find someone who is willing to wait to go with me. Hence, I haven’t been back for years. Tip: don’t come here hungry because, if you are like me, you will be «hangry» = hungry + angry by the time you get your phở due to the long wait. Overall: if you want good authentic phở and don’t mind the long wait or care about the ambience/service then do give this place a try.

My go to spot for phở lately. The wait here can be long when it’s busy, not actually sure if it’s worth the wait for me, but when there is no wait it’s definitely worth the trip. My favorite thing about the phở here is probably the meat, the meat at most other phở places is kind of bad, the meat tends to be tough or fatty. The broth here is also a little less seasoned than other places, it tastes more natural. Service here is typical of Asian places, kind of on the nonexistent side. They also don’t give you menus automatically, they kind of just assume you know what you want. They really only have two food items on the menu though, chicken phở or beef phở + drinks.

Hmm this place is popular for their chicken phở. I don’t know what’s so good about this place. I rather go next door to Phở King or go down the street to Viet Ha for their phở ga :) This place seem to always be busy just cause they sell out fast way before their closing time and will close the doors once the broth is all gone. This place is such a long wait. I waited 30+ minutes for a table and probably another 15 — 20 mins for my noodles. What I don’t get is why does it takes so crazy long? Service here is slow and terrible. To be honest, I don’t know what’s so special about their phở ga – I tasted it and it just taste okay? I’m not like OMG I must come again and have another bowl –___– Maybe my taste buds are off…

Best phở ga I have ever eaten but with that said, I probably won’t come back on a normal basis. This place always seems to be busy but waiting to be seated isn’t that bad. BUT, after ordering, the wait time for the phở to come out can be horrendous. I came here yesterday and had to wait 45 minutes for the food to get here. I seriously don’t get why it takes so long since everyone pretty much orders the same thing. Not only that but several tables who came after us got their food first and finished eating BEFORE we even got our food.

Heard about this place from locals and there’s no doubt that the phở is very well done — flavorful yet balanced beef broth without any excess grease, fresh cuts of meat with nothing being overly dry or fatty and good quality rice noodles. That being said, the service was atrocious enough to argue against returning even given the food quality. While the place was pretty full during peak lunch hours, the staff was hardly running around trying to take care of the tables. Rather, they stayed largely relaxed and inattentive to water refills and requests. I asked for tea and water and it took 15 – 20 minutes to just get the latter when we could see the counter full of water glasses and tea pots just sitting there… Lastly, do note that this place only serves different variations of phở.

Not sure what all the rave is about this place… I came here one night around 1:30AM and ordered their«famous» Phở Ga while my friends ordered their Phở Tai. They don’t give you a lot of meat for starters, the noodles stuck together and I manually tried to separate them in the soup… but the soup wasn’t hot enough. Their broth is «OK» I’d say a 3⁄5. but I still found myself chugging water during and after this meal so there was probably a lot of MSG in it. They offer bean sprouts, basil, and jalapenos… but I don’t know how well they were washed. The restaurant is a bit dated and for overall cleanliness I’d rate it a 1.5÷5. Service is minimal and you have to flag down the wait staff for refills on water/soda/etc. It does get busy during the weekends so try and come early to avoid waiting – I’ve never come during the daytime… maybe the Phở is fresher then versus late night? Make sure to wash your chopsticks, spoons, and sauce bowels, and to check your cups for lipstick before using them!

Being from San Jose, I’ve had my fair share of amazing bowls of phở. My friend recommended me to go here, and after a few failed attempts, I finally got to try it! I was seated immediately and the servers were very friendly. Took our order, brought out waters, and our food came out in about 5 minutes. I ordered the chicken phở(phở ga) with dark meat and added meat balls. The broth was very flavorful and they did not cheat you with a small bowl. My bf and I each ordered a small and we couldn’t finish!(We’re also kinda light eaters, haha). The meat was juicy and soft and their meatballs are yummm! Some places have meat balls that are too chewy, but you could tell this place chose wisely and got ones that are soft :) definitely recommend coming here and trying their chicken phở! **P.s. My friend warned me that sometimes they get so busy, that they run out of broth before the end of the day. Especially on weekends! So come early to warm those tummies up :)
