This place is great for vegans and non-vegans alike. Their cappuccino cupcake, mint chocolate cupcake, and carrot cake cupcakes are all wonderful. They surpass any cupcakes I’ve EVER had. Their sandwiches are delicious– I love the portabello cruzer and the adult grilled cheese. Wonderful place, the staff is friendly and helpful, the food is delicious. Keep up the good work!

Try the lemon bars! They are amazing! I’ve also tried their cookies which also hit the spot. There’s a parking lot near the bakery if you’re looking to drive here. There’s no available seating if you wanted to hang around at this shop. All the treats look delicious and it’s pretty awesome how Pushkins is able to make these treats gluten free. I’m not concerned with my intake of gluten but understand how time consuming making these treats gluten free could be! Great job Pushkins!

Great«vegan» bakery located on 29th and S around the corner from Temple Coffee. Hubby and I are on a «vegan» kick and needed something sweet to fulfill our sweet tooth. So we decided to stop in the bakery since we were in the area. Have come here before and loved their desserts. The bakery is very small. There is a window where you can watch from the outside and see the bakers at work creating all their delicious creations. They have a few tables just outside the restaurant where one can sit and enjoy the delicious treats. When you walk in you are greeted with a very friendly smile. Lots of choices in the case to chose from. So we ended up with: Barracuda Cupcake(basically a triple chocolate cupcake) Chocolate Chip Cookie(who can ever resist a chocolate chip cookie) Mudpie Cookie(a huge chocolate cookie) Chocolate Chip Cupcake Coconut Cupcake All of the desserts are not overly sweet and very delicious. A little bit on the pricier side but well worth it for being healthier. Probably similar to other bakeries in the area. So if you want vegan /healthy treats, this is the place for you. They also offer sandwiches for lunch. These are very good as well.

I was in need of a gluten/dairy free cake for my wife’s 50th birthday and found Pushkin’s on-line. It was a bit of a leap-of-faith, since we’re from out of the area and I wasn’t sure what to expect. Their customer service(via phone only) was top-shelf. I was treated like a long term customer and the cake was ready when they said it would be(actually, several hours earlier). The cake itself wasn’t good… it was fantastic! Very flavorful, moist and simply but tastefully decorated. Now, my wife and one other friend are gluten sensitive but our other 6 guests are not. Everyone at the table really enjoyed the cake. Two days later, we shared what was left with my wife’s parents and it was as good as it was on day one. If you have a loved one or friend who is gluten or dairy sensitive, don’t hesitate in going to these folks for a cake. I haven’t tried their other products but if the quality cake is any indicator, you won’t be disappointed.

Gluten Free Review So this place is heaven for Gluten-Free lovers which has a bakery filled with gluten-free deliciousness. The parking sucks, but if you do find a spot check this spot out. The only reason for not 4 stars is they use corn flour in some of their products which totally jacks me up and the GMO’s in corn flour are epically high. However the food is worth the visit, it is excellent, the cookies, the«no name» and pastries make me so happy that I can enjoy this decadent journey to the bakery side. Places like this are virtually non-existent in Texas and finding a place like this in Sac town is amazing. Thank you Pushkins for doing it big for Gluten-Free folks!

I definitely recommend stopping here for some pastries and delicious warm sandwiches even if you don’t have to avoid gluten. They have meat and vegan sandwiches, I had the Turk-bac and it was perfect in every way. A filling full size sammy for $ 7.99. I also got a blueberry scone and a raspberry muffin for the next day’s breakfast. Everyone who worked there was smiling and happy to be there and thank goodness because the food tastes better when it’s not made by grumpy people.

I threw a holiday party with a guest list that included some serious eating restrictions. I wanted to have a plate of sweet treats that everyone could enjoy, and Pushkin’s perfectly met my needs. Even though they’re just around the corner from my house, I’d never actually been inside the bakery, but had tasted their sweets before. I went in not really knowing exactly what I was looking for, but the woman behind the counter was super helpful and listened carefully when I described what I needed. She had great suggestions and the cookies and cupcakes were a hit. While I was there, I noticed they have a serious sandwich menu that looks awesome — I had no idea! I will definitely be back to try their sandwiches!

OMG the Spicy Adult Grilled Cheese sandwich is my crack! After trying almost all of the pastries and baked goods, my favorite is the sandwiches. The Adult Grilled Cheese has pepperjack cashew cheese with arugala, pesto and tomatoes. It might be the most perfect sandwich ever made… Of their desserts, my faves are the crinkle cookie, brownie, strawberry rosemary muffin and strawberry scone. I’m actually not a huge fan of their pies, but sandwiches are to die for. Oh — and get the homemade potato chips with your sandwich — they are amazing. Can’t wait until they open the café. The Peppy and Turkey-Bac are also great sandwiches to try! Only downside? The parking — hello it’s midtown — on the plus side, my parallel parking skills have been forced to improve…

Stopped in today for a quick treat before my doctors appy and was looking for something sweet and fresh to snack on. Stumbled on Pushkin’s from the awesome reviews from the Unilocal fam, so I thought I’d try it out! Service: FIVESTARS, Great customer service, you’re greater with a Hello and smile as soon as you walk into this small bakery. The associates behind the counter have great recommendations to what their popular items in the bakery are and are very knowledgable. I couldn’t have been more pleased. Only negative I had with my experience was that one of the items I ordered, which was like a round lemon pound cake I believe, didn’t make it in the box. Quality: four(and a half) stars, I was very pleased with my selections of strawberry vanilla and cappuccino cupcakes. From your first bite, you can taste pieces of the strawberry in the delicious icing. Same with the cappuccino. I was expecting them to be super rich tasting with a ton of calories but surprisingly, these were right in between savory and delicious. However, each cupcake was around $ 3.25 which isn’t sustainable for me as a go-to spot for deserts. Ambiance: four stars, the bakery is fairly small in size, however they do have a waiting area outside which they prompt customers they’re welcome to wait in if they’re waiting for sandwiches. Personally I liked the fact that it is a small business and that businesses like this exist in Sacramento which make our city awesome. This place could seriously be a business inside the Anaheim packing district. I wish I wasn’t in such a rush or I would’ve asked the significance of «Pushkin’s.» Overall, Pushkin’s is definitely a place I would stop by again. For me, ambiance, value and service come a long way when trying to determine whether a store will get my business in the future. Other than the high price points of Pushkin’s, which is understandable for a small business(that’s specialized in gluten-free and vegan products) to stay profitable, I would definitely be a return customer given the amazing service, tasty snacks and great ambiance!

It’s no surprise that there’s this place where vegan and gluten-free people are going to this incredible local bakery shop in the Midtown neighborhood at Sacramento. Pushkins Bakery has all your favorite bakery treats where residents from young to old will satisfy these delicious goodies from cupcakes, cookies, cakes, and more! The employees which includes servers and bakers have done a fantastic job for making customers happy and on-going! No issues or problems at all! For a snack treat, I ordered this cuteful dessert that Rich L loves the most frequently is the Lemon Bar. So far, the lemon bar tasted outstanding! The lemon filling is very natural made and gooey, so my mouth and my taste buds are feeling accomplished! The crust is also good too! The parking can be hard to park. You can park at the surface street at any streets you park. Otherwise, you can walk, ride a bike, or using public transportation without the hassles. In the end, Pushkins Bakery is the finest, and the most remarkable cute bakery where vegan and gluten-free residents will enjoy. I highly recommend for this local bakery! Can’t wait to come back for more!

Was in here yesterday and surprised to see that they had gluten free and vegan options! This is an adorable bakery with an extremely friendly staff! They offer temple brew coffee too! The place is very well kept. My favorite part of this place is the outdoor seating that they offer with adorable little plants that are planted in the center of the table. Will be back to check out more of this place in the future!

This bakery is wicked awesome. They serve gluten free, and vegan made products. To start they have a decent variety of bakery items such as daily changing scone flavors, cookies, cupcakes, meyers lemon pound cake, lemon bar, coffee cakes, they have some homemade potato chips for only $ 1. Yes they a small size but perfect for a snack. We had gone back 2x just for those. The scones have a great texture to them, not loaded with glaze and have fresh strawberries, blackberry, and the maple walnut scone is perfect. The store is a walk in only to buy, but they have a few seats outside to enjoy your favorite pushkins treats. They do offer a handful of sandwiches starting after 10am. Which i plan on tryingin my next visit.

This is my new favorite place. I became gluten free about 2 ½ years ago not by choice and it’s so hard because gluten is in EVERYTHING! It’s really hard going out with friends or family and trying to find gluten free options. I got on Unilocal the other day and started searching gluten free places in Sacramento and Pushkin’s Bakery came up. My mouth was watering from the first picture I saw on their Unilocal page. Shortly after reality hit me and I thought I’ve tried gluten free bread before and it’s like someone sandwich meat between to bricks because most gluten free bread I’ve ever tried were so dense and horribly dry. Needless to say I haven’t had a sandwich in 2 ½ years and all I could think of was trying the green turkey sandwich. So I got up and drove 30 minutes to Pushkin’s and when I walked in the door for the first time all I could think of is I can have it all(lol not really) but I can choose whatever I want because it’s all gluten free. So with that I got a few pastries as well I mean why not they look incredible! The first one I tried is called no name which is like the center of a cinnamon roll– it’s amazing so soft and delicious, not too sweet. I tried the chocolate crackle cookie– this one is a favorite of mine, so moist and full of flavor mmmm! The Myer lemon loaf and banana nut loaf were a big win too lots of flavor and not overly sweet! My husband who sometimes is very picky tried some of my crackle cookie and loved it. Oh and I can’t forget the sandwich the green turkey– first of all the entire sandwich just melts in your mouth, the bread is so soft and moist and the ingredients just mesh so well together. I can honestly say will be back weekly and am a customer for life. I’m so thankful for gluten free places like this!
