Randy’s House of Games

I brought my son here for the Magic Card Game release party on Friday. The people here, from the staff to the customers are VERY friendly and the place is KID FRIENDLY as well. They have a large selection of games and accessories and the place is easy to find and open later than anything else in this town.

The Sacramento valley has their share of game stores but few offer the diversity of games, better parking and longer hours of operation as Randy’s House of Games. The air conditioned play area with comfortable chairs, a well lit miniature painting station, a nice variety of gamer food such hot/​cold sandwiches, salads and smoothies that are made to order, all makes this place a top choice among the serious as well as the occasional gamer to enjoy creativity and imagination. RPGs, card games, board games and a variety of miniature campaigns are enjoyed in both free play as well as organized play, sometimes utilized with occasional gaming tournaments or conventions. The best part of Randy’s is its staff, people who understand the world of various sorts of gaming culture. From sic fi movie references to Pokemon catch phrases to the occasional d20 roll, Randy’s is a place of comfort to all people who embrace «Nerdism» and all its endeavors.

So much fun here! If you’re looking for chill place to get your game on then this is for you. Randy and Aaron are both knowledgable and friendly. Randy’s has a nice selection of games and plenty of yummy food choices, if you don’t see what you want on the shelf they will order it for you. They even Magic tournaments for the kids. Randy’s is a place for everyone whether you’re new to gaming or have years under your belt.

I ordered some game stuff on two seperate occassions. The first time the product took over a month to get to me, and it was I who had to call them to find out if it was even in, rather then them calling me. The second time I had them cancel the order after 4 weeks because I was done waiting. I asked for my money back because I payed these people in full ahead of time. The woman who tried to explain what happened to my item was dismissive of any concerns, and when I explained that I would not be back to order or purchase from them ever again she said «thats fine go ahead and order from great escape games» (one of their larger competitors in the area. Who does that?). So you better darn well believe thats where im gonna go, anywhere else. Forget this place, the staff seems to have no patience for customers who pay in full and kindly wait a month. I hate to think how they treat everyone else.

If you like paying for things you’ll never actually receive, then you’ll love this place! My boyfriend ordered things on two separate occasions, both times paying upfront, and in the instance of his latest order its been over three weeks and not only has his book not arrived, but the staff doesn’t seem to care one way or the other. Save yourself the annoyance and go anywhere else. Somewhere where you actually get the things you pay for.

This place hasn’t been open long. It’s a huge wherehouse. I know he plans to add a Deli so people can buy food while gaming, which is awesome an better then just snacks. He has a very small game store right now but at least it’s full of the important things. Games and paints and such. The people are super nice and you have plenty of gaming space.
