I love Dr. Pretel and the Capitol Periodontal Group staff! I was referred to him by my dentist Dr. Mike Casagrande for some specialized work and after care, and I can see why these two great dentists work together. They both have the same ethic — provide patients with lots of useful information, resources and methods for taking care of their teeth and gums. No scare tactics, no long waits, and most importantly no pain!
As with every dentists office these days, you spend more time with a hygienist than with the dentist so a review of the hygienist it is equally important to me. I can say that Dr. Pretel has some great hygienists. They are friendly and chatty to make the time go faster. They constantly check up on you during a procedure to make sure you are not in pain — it’s clear that no one in that office believes in pain! I had to have deep cleaning of my gums, which can be painful, but I felt absolutely no pain during the process, and the follow up care minimized my discomfort.
I appreciate their professional, cheerful and great work. I gave them 4 stars because I’d love to have one hygienist every time, and it is sometimes a challenge (and while all of them are competent, there are 2 who are break out stars whom I’d prefer to deal with exclusively).
