Pizza wars in Sacramento! Growing up i would hear bout how good Roma’s pizzeria was and how good Zelda’s was as well. I grew up downtown so i would always go to Northgate and hit up Ricos pizza. As i got older and wiser i started liking different types of crust and toppings. Luigi’s pizza was my all time favorite pizza parlor. I was anti Roma’s pizza, to me i was convinced that Luigi’s was the best and i honestly always thought that, ive been to Roma’s 3 times including this one. The parking can be a little tight so be careful how u maneuver ur car. The inside is pretty open lots of room plenty of tables. Now any other night in the past i would of declined the thought of coming to Roma’s, but my last 4 visits to Luigi’s since Chelso passed away have been terrible. I think they put to much corn meal on their dough. Ok ok enough with the chit chat. Our server was a woman i think her name was Jennie she was pretty nice but not professional at all. She was sitting at the corner booth on the opposite side of us and we could totally hear bout her ratchet Facebook tales and gang stories. Not really the best topic when ur out eating at a Restaurant. The pizza was actually pretty good the crust was really soft and chewy the cheese and toppings were good. Also got a family salad that fed all 4 of us and even had left overs, garlic bread and cheesy garlic bread also. Even tho im not a thick crust type of person the crust was awesome but for future reference i will order the thin crust next time. I will be back if u are near by u definitely have to stop and eat here. Sorry Luigi i think u just lost a loyal customer :(

I’ve lived in Sacramento, San Francisco and LA and this is the best pizza I’ve ever had. If you like pizza this is a no brainier. My go to is the meat special. Over the years I’ve probably introduced a dozen people to this place and I don’t think a single one has been disappointed. Aside from the pizza I can also vouch for the lasagna and meatball sandwich.

This is really good Pizza. But I stopped going… the female owner is rude, mean and unsocial. All employees look miserable. After I seen the female owner yell at an employee. «WHAT’S WRONGWITHYOU?» For dropping a cup. He was a young kids obviously his first job. I thought it was unprofessional and degrading. really can’t stand paying for their pizza the way they treat such loyal customers and employees. THEONLYTIME you have any service is when you give them your bill to cash you out. THEYARELUCKYTHEYHAVEGOODPIZZABECAUSEIT’S ALLTHEYHAVEGOINGFORTHEIRBUSINESS. Been here more times than I can count, it’s about time they got a review from me. This place is a definable classic, family run restaurant. I really like that. The staff get to know their regulars and everyone is treated hospitably and in a courteous manner. Big groups are welcome here as well as the individual looking for a meal. The food is great, they have a wide range of Italian menu items. The first time here I had a linguica open faced sandwich on toasted french bread. Amazing! All melty cheese and chopped meat. Since I wasn’t very hungry and the sandwich was so large, I was able to save half for another time. I have also tried their spaghetti plate and different varieties of their pizza. Loved them all. Prices are great and they offer al la carte as well as fixed prices for dinner plates. Neighborhood is kind of ‘sketch’ for the un-accustomed. It’s next to a coin laundry(pizza and laundry yo!) and it IS on Franklin. Just a little heads up! Overall, a great place to get your next meal if you are in the area. Try it out!(Open faced sandwich on french bread… yummm!)

The pizza here is truly exceptional. The crust is perfectly chewy, the pizza is served hot, and the cheese is high quality. The customer service was excellent, and everyone there was friendly. If you’re looking for a trendy place, look elsewhere. Romas is about as classic as it gets. The décor and the menu looks like it’s been unchanged for 40 years, but in this case, that’s a good thing.

The food makes up for the lack in customer service. If you order to-go go in ten minutes later than they tell you or you’ll wait awkwardly on the entry way.

Busy busy busy. So busy I got the wrong order. And because I already bit into the pizza I can’t get my correct pizza. It wasn’t even offered to be corrected either. Her solution was charge me less for the wrong pizza rather than correct it. Bad solution.

I been a customer since I was a little boy something like 40 years ago plus . This is a family owned and family run business. The owners have worked very hard over the last 40 years making this a very special pizza restaurant. Admire their hard work and dedication making pizza great. I feel part of the family after all these years and I’m just a customer. When the old man used to run the place he’s to use to think it was quite funny when I used to come in to get a pizza since I owned a chain of pizza restaurants myself. But Romas is a special place and great pizza Thanks for the great service for all these years and the great pizza Maui Mike I love your pizza I wished it was in Maui

Great family environment, I like going here for the atmosphere. I always order a salad and beer to go along with my pizza, so I’m always in a cheerful mood when I’m here. I honestly don’t think the pizza is that great, but my fiends like a whole lot. Also they don’t serve wings here. The staff are super nice, and I’ll for sure visit this business again.

So we were looking for a spot to eat and I remember a friend(Brent) tolde about this place. It’s definitely the best place I’ve been to in the last couple of years. FRESHNESS~ 5⁄5 CUSTOMERSERV ~4.5/5 due to the lack of interaction and lack of suggestion on the breadsticks. TASTE~ 5⁄5 Pizza was delicious, and the garlic bread was too! So hot, and the cheese was like the cheese you see on TV. Pepsi wasn’t flat either, it was fresh. Overall it was great! Highly recommend to everyone who wants some pizza!

A friend came to visit and she said this was her favorite pizza, why … because the sauce isn’t spicy. That would not be my idea of a recommendation, but my house mate who loves to try out new pizza places was curious to try it and so we did. I ordered vegetarian spaghetti and it was very good. I would have preferred garlic bread rather than herb bread, but it wasn’t bad and the portions were generous. He ordered cheese pizza and said it reminded him of the typical pizzas he used to get in New York, not bad, but nothing special. So, my feeling is that since the last time I was a customer here a couple years ago to now, the atmosphere, service, and food is pretty much the same. It’s ok, nothing great, but not bad. I would have liked if the waiter had removed the used plates after he brought the box for leftovers because they were kind of in the way as we sat there finishing our drinks and talking.

Gunna have to bring out the big guns with stars! Roma’s earned a fatty 5 for a fully loaded slice slung just right. A crispy, not soggy crust crowned with any assortment of meat your heart desires. My heart dubbed the cheesy pie with olives a true win. This was a Saturday nite to remember and a pie we will revisit someday soon!!!

This pizza joint is one of the best in Sacramento! !!! Its in the hood, and theyre closed ob Mondays, but without a doubt, if you like thick tasty crust, you will love this pizza. Granted, if you like thinner crusts, then you won’t find it here… but the flavor of the pizza is to die for! Give it a try anayways!!! Treat your taste buds to sime pizza goodness, and order the Roma’s Special

I had to come back to try the food a second time at Roma’s Pizzeria. This place truly has an «old school» vibe. After I survived the chaos at the front door, evidentially there was some confusion on whether or not I was with the party that arrived after me, which I wasn’t. I was provided a booth in the dining room. Talk about retro-Chic…this place is all that!!! I ordered the tortellini’s because they are homemade and I was given the choice to get a half cheese and half meat. The best of both worlds. The service is super fast here so when you are looking at the menu be prepared for the waiter to come up within a minute to ask for your order. Don’t talk with your friends … just read the menu make your selection and put in our order. Then talk with your friends. After all isn’t that what eating at an Italian pizzeria is all about right? The service is excellent and the foot is down right delicious. From what I understand the dining rooms have not changed in 25 years. Yep… the red vinyl booths are still in tact. This place is independently owned and operated. As it has been for a couple of generations. Roma’s is the perfect venue to hold a pizza party after winning a Saturday soccer game. In other words it is very family orientated! Overall I give 4 stars for my experience at Roma’s pizzeria. This is most definitely a great restaurant to bring your family. As the price point is quite economical and the plates are generous. Lastly, the service is out of this world :-) :-)

Hands down best pizza in Sacramento! Been going here since I was a kid. Always got to get the combination you will not be disappointed. Everything else is great especially the lasagna. Luigi’s is pretty good as well but not better than Roma’s. Plenty of seating very family friendly old school pizza joint. Top pizza places in Sac 1. Roma’s 2. Luigi’s 3. Rico’s(back in the day Rico’s) 4.Zelda’s

This place had high reviews so we came here for dinner one night. I honestly don’t see what the hype is all about. The pizza was just okay(it came out really soggy in the middle) and the pizza was just too«bready» for me. The lasagna was pretty small and my husband even said he made better, HA! We also ordered the ravioli with meatball and sausage. The ravioli didn’t even look appealing at all and I could tell that they had just boiled them and transferred the noodles into the plate as the raviolis still had water in them. As we bit into the ravioli, the water just bursted out! The server was very nice and helpful though and knew that it was our first time here. She recommended doing half and half on our pizzas so we got half Roma Special and half Combo. She also even split our pitchers so we can try 2 different beers. The customer service is no doubt great, but the food was just okay.

We’ve been coming here for many years. Love that it’s a family run establishment. Hand tossed pizza made from fresh dough makes a nice hearty crust. Quality ingredients make for a exceptionally tasty pie! It’s a very classic pizza they’ve been doing for over 40 years. If you want fancy nuoveau pizza this is not the place. It’s in a rougher area of South Sac and the establishment itself isn’t «fancy». Doesn’t bother me at all. I come here for the tasty pizza. We almost always go with the Roma’s Special. Service has always been family friendly. Beer selection is a bit dated but the Michelob Dark hits the spot and pairs well with this delicious blue collar pizza. Quality, Price, Portion, Service all 4+ Location 2 Overall a very solid 4
