The lobster roll is soo darn tasty. It’s chuck full of substantial pieces of fresh lobster mixed in a light lemon mayo type dressing with a leaf of lettuce. The bread is toasted and hearty enough to hold all the lobster goodness. The roll came with kettle fried chips dusted in a deliciously addictive seasoning. Also in my to-go container, they packed a dill spear, lemon wedge, and large packaged handi wipe. But the downside is the sucker cost $ 18. That’s right…”$ 18″!! Ouch. Also don’t forget to grab a fork, which isn’t packed for you. The roll is so packed with lobster meat that you want to make sure you savor all the morsels. Another cool thing is that they have a fork dispenser which dispenses one fork at a time, which is way more hygienic. Sorry…I didn’t take a photo… too busy diving in and devouring. ;)

We ordered a lobster roll & calamari(spending almost $ 30). Both orders came with chips that are freshly made and pretty tasty. The chips had the right amount of crunch to it, plus it was seasoned… it wasn’t salt but their own seasoning on it. The calamari was delicious and meaty, they gave a nice amount of pieces too. The calamari isn’t an appetizer but more like its own meal because the pieces were so thick. Also we order a lobster roll and with many people raving about it, I had to give Rudys a try. The lobster meat were juicy, i think its was toss in a lemon like dressing, it made the lobster have a less of a fishy smell and taste. I don’t mind the seafood taste, but I understand some people do. The lobster roll was a little hard to eat, the bread was sliced on the top of the roll instead of the traditional slicing on the side. I feel that when it was on the top, there was less room for lobster to be stuffed into your sandwich. The bread was soft and tasty. It was nice combination with the lobster. However, the lobster itself don’t have much taste to it. I thought the lobster suppose to be mixed with mayo and seasoning. I been to places that put too much mayo and seasoning and been to places that made lobster rolls perfectly. This lobster roll was OK. I would give it another try since its in Sacramento area and other lobster roll places are not in town. I like that they put in wipes into your bag, so you can clean your hands after you eat.

Whenever I’m craving a good clam chowder, this is my go-to place. It’s waaaaaay better than… Yes I’m going to say it… Boudins. Sorry, not sorry. The flavor is delicious. Super creamy and the little bits of bacon on the top garnish are a fun addition. I’ve also had the calamari which is almost too good to be true. Really big and tender pieces which is awesome. The only downside is that they are a little pricey for the amount you get. Especially on the clam chowder. It’s all good though. I’ll continue to splurge for some good seafood!

I had the Cajun Shrimp Tacos. The shrimp was the best part because the rest of the flavors did not go well together. The tortilla was also served too cold. My least favorite part the sour crunchy flavorless strawberries. Also the cucumber garnish was just plain gross. Overall, ok and very pricey.

Lobster roll is a must try! So refreshing. The lobster meat seems like it was tossed in a lemony dressing and its acidity is just right. The dough is soft and the taste blended well with the lemony lobster meat. The roll is served with crispy thin slices of potato! Not greasy which is a plus! Yummy!!!

Tried this food truck at one of the SactoMofo events. Ordered the crab balls and the shrimp tacos. Both are absolutely awesome! Can’t wait to have them again!

It’s Friday and the hubs and I are currently practicing Lent; which means«Fish Fridays» for us. And we also gave up carbs and starch type of food, so our lunch options were super limited. As we were driving to Burgers and Brew(B&B) we passed up a food truck with a colorful crab and lobster on it. We pull over in the quickness because neither of us wanted the tilapia fish and chips at B&B. There was a small line, but Rudy’s was organized and efficient working on a two man truck. They had great seafood options: Clam Chowder, lobster bisque, calamari, lobster bread roll, fish and chips, etc. The hubs and I both order the fish and chips. We substituted the chips for a lobster bisque. What I LOVED about the fish is the fact that they used Cod. It was a large chunk, moist, and flaked away at the touch of a fork. I couldn’t really eat the batter but the fish was fried to a good crisp and had really good flavor. The lobster bisque was chunky and had a lobster claw in the middle. Delicious! Fish and chips are $ 13 and with the bisque substitute it came up to $ 15 each for our meal. A little pricey for a food truck, but the quality was there so we had no real qualms. I also appreciate the little personal touches they had. For example: 1. The fork, spoon, knives were on a contraption where you pressed the lever and one item would come out. I appreciate that because I don’t want everyone and their mama reaching into a tub with their gross unwashed hand touching a utensil I could potentially be putting in my mouth. 2. General cleanliness around the food truck. They had a garbage for you available. A table for other condiments you could possibly use, and the napkins were filled. 3. They give you a hand wipe in your meal package. I’m not talking about that small dinky alcohol square that restaurants give you that only get your finger tips. They gave out legit towelettes! Large ones that you can wipe your whole face with. It’s like one step less than a real warm face towel. Pretty great Food Truck experience if I do say so myself!

This was one of our stops at the Sactomofo food truck event and it was fabulous. We started with the Lobi pop which is half a lobster tail on coleslaw with super thin shoestring fries for $ 10. A great deal. The lobster was perfectly cooked with a delicate sauce that allowed the lobster flavor to shine. The coleslaw was fresh and crisp and equally carefully dressed to compliment, not compete with the lobster. The fries were amazing: unbelievably thin and crispy and mixed well with all the other elements. A beautiful dish. We next tried the lobster bisque which was also perfect. A beautifully smooth soup base with tiny(and one huge) chunks of lobster. There was a swirl of cream on top and a light sprinkling of parsley. The flavors were fresh and the lobster taste was first and foremost. We loved it so much we took a quart home for tomorrow. GREATFOODTRUCKFARE.

OK, fish and chips. Would be better if it were more fish and less breading.

I have visited this restaurant and was happy. The food truck on the other hand was TERRIBLE. I ate at this truck n 4÷25÷14. I ordered the clam chowder on a bread bowl, $ 8 and the fish and chips $ 10 and change. The chowder was actually very good, but I literaly got 4 spoon fulls, It was all bread. $ 8 for 4 teaspoons, never again. Then on the fish and chips, I was told the fish was fresh, but you could never tell. It was so over battered and fried too long. the fish was extremely dry and again the quantity, very small fish pieces, and I paid for mostly batter, with a bottled wqter my bill totaled 22 $ and change. I total waste of money, I was so mad. I waited in line 45 min. and It was not even worth it. i threw the fish and chips away. I don’t know if they were trying to make the food last, as all the other food trucks were running out of food. But I have not been this disappointed in 20 yrs or more.
