Sactown Kabob

I really like the Koobideh here! The Zeresk is on point as well. The prices are right, and it’s good food. Think of this place like a bit of a fast-​casual vibe kabob spot.
The owners are a sweet married couple, and often working the store together. They keep this place super clean, organized, and they use a modern payment processing system!
Would love to see this expand into midtown, but for now it’s worth the drive. And they rep SACTOWN in the name, whats not to like?

This is by far my favorite place to go to to get some great Iranian food. My brother and I both got the combo plates and it just seriously hits the spot every time. The combo plate comes with chicken (joojeh) and the kabob laid on basmati rice which is absolutely delicious and a small side of salad and hummus with pita bread to go with it. This place definitely deserves 5 stars especially because of their outstanding service and make you feel very welcomed.

This place is consistently delicious. Always clean, consistent, and the price is right. I recommend it to all my friends and coworkers!

So freaking delicious. After I finished my combo plate, I needed to get more for take out.

Growing up in LA, I took the volume of Persian restaurants in «Tehrangeles» for granted. Now that I have lived in Sacramento for over 5 years, I am one Persian Queen (metaphorically speaking of course) who is missing my array of Persian restaurants, I am happy to say that the quest is over and I have found this wonderful gem. The beef kabob is so delicious and juicy. The serving size for lunch was very generous. It was a delight to see the family run business being run in such a professional and warm way and I will definitely be back!

Delicious! Quick. Nice owner/​proprietor. I had the chicken schwarma plate. As soon as I ordered they put my skewer on the grill and my food was ready in just a few minutes, despite it being right around noon. The food is fresh and really tasty. I’ll always try to swing by when I’m in the neighborhood.

One of my favorite lunch spots. Have tried just about everything there. The lamb shank is to die for especially the sauce it comes with .The soup is the perfect remedy for this cold winter days. My staff and I love their food and their great customer service. Highly recommend sac town kabob and the prices are more than affordable. I got the Joojeh, bae snagged the Vegetarian plate, and we split an eggplant/​garlic/​cheese/​mint/​yogurt appetizer that I won’t do the injustice of attempting to spell. I added on some (rather potent) Persian Tea and the grand total came up to a whopping… $ 22? For a backpack’s worth of food. Awesome.
The owners are a pretty adorable Persian couple who very obviously pour themselves into their business. If you’re looking for large portions of amazing food, made and served by incredibly kind and gracious people, this place is for you. Will definitely be coming back.

I’ve never had Persian food before so I can’t compare it to anything but, for a first timer it was really good and satisfying. The place is very clean and welcoming. My friend introduced me to this place and ordered my food for me. I’m unsure of the name or number. I just know the chicken and hummus was so yummy! I’m glad I’m expanding my taste buds. I would Iove to try more new items next time!

Combo #2 (Joojeh): consisted of chicken kabob over Basmati rice with a side salad, hummus, and 2 pieces of naan. The chicken was tender. The meat could have been marinated longer. The hummus was delicious! ⁴⁄₅
Baklava: flakey pastry with nuts. Good, but a little too sweet for me. ³⁄₅

The food was good. I would come back. This was one of the better Mediterranean spots I’ve been to.

Consistently one of the best meals I’ve had dining out in Sacramento. Truly flavorful, fresh and hot Kabobs on a fluffy perfectly cooked bed of rice. I had the Koobideh (beef kabob) and the chicken kabob combo. Salad and hummus were a wonderful side to the plate. The chicken was so tender with a lovely flavor — and kabob was amazing.
The simplicity and cleanliness of the restaurant is very pleasant, and the rich and delicious food quickly overtakes the senses. Trying samples of the other dishes from family I was dining with I realized that I can’t wait to come back to try all ten menu items. And that’s one of the best things here: a simple menu of ten items, but each perfected and served hot and fresh. Great job Sactown Kabob, looking forward to my next visit!

We were craving for kabobs the past few weeks and decided to Unilocal on nearby kabob places. It was Sunday, around 6PM. After reading all the amazing reviews to this place, we were devastated to find out that they are closed!!! NO!!! Haha! But it didn’t stop us from trying it on another day.
We planned to eat lunch here before watching a movie. We ordered #3 Combo which consist of a chicken and beef kabob, hummus, salad and basmati rice. So flavorful! The chicken and beef are both tender and juicy. Hummus taste like it’s freshly made. I’m inlove!!! The veggies in the salad are so refreshing and crisp. The rice is cooked to perfection. THE WHOLE MEAL IS A PERFECTION!
Don’t forget to ask for the white sauce. It taste like garlic yogurt and it adds additional flavor to the whole meal!
I ate here once and ordered to go the next day. 2 consecutive days. That’s how awesome their food is! Once is not enough and I ordered the same meal too. Staff is nice! Service is great! I can totally eat here over and over again. Go ahead and try it too!

My friend recommend this place. He told me the food here is SOOOOOOO GOOOOODDDDDDDDD!!! Well, it is not as good as he thinks it is. I ordered the combo meal (Koobideh, Joojeh, hummus, rice, and salad) and baklava. The Koobideh tasted strange (kind of slimy) but the Joojeh tasted great, the hummus was good, the rice was meh, and the salad was very fresh. The so called homemade baklava didn’t taste fresh at all. I was very disappointed. Service was zilch and I was the only customer eating. Restaurant was very clean.
I love to support family run business but once is enough for me here.

Got the combo for lunch yesterday, it’s sooo good i’m thinking of getting it again today. Hummus is bomb! Highly recommend this place in sac!

I tried #2 lunch — chicken joojeh with Baklava for dessert and it was delicious! The place is clean and well maintained.

There is nothing better than Sactown Kabob… it could be that I’m partial due to the owners and their amazing family or it could be because the food is AMAZIIINNGG… So let’s just go with both!
I got the #2. Joojeh (sp?) Chicken meal and a extra order of hummus. Where do I even begin with the hummus? I have personally asked them to adopt me based on the hummus alone… all the meat is grilled and GRILLED TO ORDER! So its FRESH!
Food is just really good. And to those watching their waistline its okay… food is grilled not drenched in oil and/​or grease. Very light yet hearty! I could eat this EVERY SINGLE DAY! Literally.
I am all for supporting local businesses and this is definitely one you need to support. You won’t be disappointed. You’ll be hooked!
